If United were a serious club we would've mounted a proper bid for Kane 6/7 years ago when he proved he wasnt a one season wonder, instead of fannying about with past-it strikers.

I understand people not wanting us to over-pay but it's complete madness that some don't want him at all. He's scored in 25 of the 37 league games so far, that's not the sign of someone who's about to become over the hill.

It's a massive achievement really. He is two goals away from matching his best PL season, and the team is dire.

How many other players in Europe have scored 30 goals this season ? Am I right in thinking only Haaland and Mbappe along with Kane ? If so that’s ridiculous seeing as Haaland and Mbappe are at the clubs they are whilst Kane is at an awful club.
I don’t think Kane at United plays as a 9/10 hybrid as we wouldn’t need him to be finisher and creator like Spurs do as we have Fernandes, Eriksen, Casemiro, Antony and Sancho to create whilst having the pace of Rashford, Garnacho and Martial when fit so I think Kane for United plays as an out and out centre forward.

They will have to, so much is needed to fix that squad, it would be opportune to just cash in and fix across the board.

No, but Chelsea is a good indication of how poor they could do next season without him.
But they'd also destroy it by losing their only source of goals. What manager is going to come in and be happy with selling Kane?
No they wouldn't destroy anything (unless they didn't reinvest the money that is).
Any new manager is going to have their own style, their own transfers and their own preferences. Players that were terrible this year may end up being a big favourite in the next one (say, Richarlson or Son back to glory etc).
£100m for Kane is a lot of money to get a capable striker in and fix the center back situation at least.
Plus a manager would likely want the Kane situation resolved one way or another. Depending on him for a season and losing him for free doesn't really do anything for the new manager bar kicking the can down the road.
So at best Spurs should finish between 6th - 10th by keeping Kane for 1 more season, or they get 80-100m to reinvest the squad. This looks a very easy decision to me…

Looking at recent history.... it has to be up there, from the top 9/10 scorers listed on seasons on Wiki of utter irrelevancy to the team in questions goals, which is obviously a mega underachievement for Spurs - Yakubu went down with Blackburn with 17 goals, but they were touted for the low parts of the league anyway.

He’s the missing piece right now, I’d only worry that we’d be kicking the can down the road. We’d have to find a world class striker in 2-3 years, assuming Kane can maintain his peak for that time. He might be RvP 2.0 and bring us a title, though, in the 2-3 years we have him.I can't shake the same feeling if I'm honest. Slightly concerning is it's just about half from open play. We don't struggle with converting penalties. Set pieces or more group coaching/tactics and the delivery, though he would still help with box presence (but we suck at that). He wouldn't be on free kicks here anyway.
0.34 xG/90 from open play is his worst open play goal threat season since 2014/15... Could be related to Spurs being garbage. Could be him declining.

It’s never going to happen but I’d love to see him use the Webster ruling, ( it it’s still a thing) just as an FU to Levy’s incompetence and greed.
I'm not convinced he brings us a title in those 2-3 years. If I thought that was a high probability I would definitely be for it even if he was done as an elite striker in that time, because it would mean so much. That's probably the difference between RvP and Kane for me...this squad is just okay, it's not just about sticking the cherry on top.
I just think it takes far more than a striker, and if we buy Kane we are deferring other needs because he's so expensive. But more than the expense my major worry is that by the time we get round to ironing everything out we could be sat scratching our heads about why we bought an aging Kane who is now trending downwards when we could have taken a longer term perspective and bought someone who will grow as we build this squad. There's a real danger of short term thinking coming back to bite us on the ass as the squad and Harry Kane head in different directions. If we buy a younger striker I am confident that with the right pick everything will be working in tandem.
Who in their right mind is going to hang their hat on Son and Richarlison to replace his goals? Not only that, if you're selling to someone in the league, you're just pushing yourself further down.
100m is feck all to replace your all time top goalscorer and improve your squad. People are moaning that's our budget this summer.

Not really at best, they should be able to compete for top 4 with a striker like Kane. 80-100m will get you absolutely nothing when trying to replace your all time top goal scorer. Especially when you strengthen a league rival.
