Maybe but 80m for a 30 yo CF whose contract has only one year left sounds a bit too much anyway I think.

Imo it'll depend on how much Madrid value and think they'd need Kane. If they think Kane is a must for their campaign next year then they might pay the price you said. Or 50m upfront and 20-30m if they win the CL/Liga etc. For Levy he must sell now or nothing next summer. Madrid also have a very promising forward in Alvarez imo. Lad is only 18 yo but already 1.92m and quite good already. We'll see I think.

Kane wants Shearers record, no way he moves abroad in my opinion.
 
Unless he wants to stay in England, no way we are getting him. Nailed on starter at Real, Levy will (probably) be willing to sell abroad. Maybe Levy gets greedy and pushes them off but not an optimist.

I’d do that and soon, test Levy straight away and show Kane we mean business. Worst case we are flat out denied and Kane stays silent. At least we can crack on. This transfer window is so important and without a good one, I agree, top 4 is very far from certain next season.

I'm not sure that experienced striker actually exists/is available in the market this summer though. I'm increasingly feeling like if Kane isn't do-able, we're better off signing someone young (Hojland, Ramos, etc), rotating with Rashford though the middle, and seeing how things look in 12 months when Kane is out of contract, Toney's ban is up, and we're not so financially limited.

Felix Diaz & Mario Cortegana who are reliable sources for Madrid talking says they will get it done,seen it so many times in the past with their transfers. Ah well looks like another top striker option off the table

Tbh I'm one of those. Not my money anyway and I know it sounds crazy but with Kane imo we might have a chance at the title next year. That's how much I believe in ETH.

But with the takeover going on surely we don't have the money for that. I'd doubt if we could buy anyone at all until it's over.

I don't see it personally unless we also upgrade in other areas, but considering all the latest reports we don't seem to have a whole lot of disposable income and so getting Kane and improving other areas might be too big of a challenge
 
Madrid will get him at a great value price if it happens. They hold all the cards in this situation. Levy will either outright refuse to sell to United or set a price tag that isn't realistic and hopefully we refuse to pay.

Levy has to sell to Madrid for two reasons:
  1. the risk of letting him go to a PL foe and watching him do all the things he couldn't do at Spurs
  2. avoid missing out on 80-100m if he goes on a free next summer.

Of the 4 parties seemingly involved here (Madrid, United, Levy, Kane), Madrid is in the best position by far.

Of course we'd have a bigger chance if we could also upgrade the other areas. But if ETH could make us finish third with Martial and WW in his first season here after all the mess the season before imo he definitely could win us the title with Kane. Of course the chance is quite small but who would have thought Arsenal would challenge a bit for the title this year or Leicester could ever win the title.

If we had Kane this season we would have definitely challenged for Title, if next season is similar to this then yes, we will challenge for Title with Kane.
However, next season I feel Chelsea and Liverpool will come back stronger so without a top CF like Kane , even Top4 would be a problem for us.

The problem is that is a sound thought process if all the other teams stay stagnant too but they won't, they'll all sign multiple good players :(

Yeah I feel the same too but not this season we had a terrible start then the mess with Ronaldo.

Imo we had so many matches the margin between 3-1-0 points was pretty close. A proven top scorer like Kane would help us to remove this margin and win those matches. It's of course not the same but we could use the signing of RVP as an example here I think. If we sign Kane, have a good start next season anything is possible imo.

For Liverpool and Chelsea no I don't think they'd come back next season. Liverpool imo are still a long way and some very very big money away from being back to what they were couple seasons ago. Chelsea if they don't change owner, which is very unlikely, will still be a big mess. Spurs are just Spurs.

Next season unfortunately imo City will win it again. Arsenal might have a chance if they buy the right players this summer and could keep their best ones.

Anyway we won't have no 100m until the takeover is over. And by then it'd be already too late imo.

If we want him I don't get why we don't just make a single bid at whatever we are prepared to pay (obviously would need to be significantly more than Madrid will pay) and see what happens. If Spurs are going to lose him anyway then surely an extra 20 or 30 million for the new manager to spend would be preferable? I know Levy is a bit twisted when it comes to us, but he's a moneyman at the end of the day innit?

You should support real with that kind of opinion. There’s a good chance Kane wants to break the pl goals record and wouldn’t want to uproute his young family.

The thing is if we offer Spurs 100m and let's say Levy accepts it then the takeover doesn't happen and we end up with the Glazers staying. Would the Glazers willing to spend 100m on Kane by then?

Or if the takeover does happen would the new owner happy with that or would they support ETH or they have some plan else in mind?

Then come the financial stuffs like the value of the assets, the value of the club etc. might have to be negotiated again. It might be really complicated and there's so much uncertainty. There's a reason why all transfers sell or buy have to be put on hold while a takeover is on I think. Let's hope it'd be over soon so ETH could kick start his summer plan.

He can still break the record in a few years,also if there is an issue about uprouting family then why hasn't it come to light since they declared interest

Well yeah, obviously I mean assuming we are in a position to actually put in a bid! Nothing would surprise me with this club, but things will turn very nasty very quickly if it soon becomes clear that we're not in a position to even sign any players.

I don't get what speed has to do with it really. Either we have a budget, and it's fine to spend regardless of the takeover - in which case why wait? Or we're not able to spend until the takeover completes - in which case I would imagine that Erik is tearing his nonexistent hair out cos it might not even happen.

You do realise that the media is very different in Spain. They are effectively extensions of the clubs themselves plugging their interests. All it means is they are interested in him, nothing less and nothing more

He scored 36 premier league goals this year, so continuing at the same rate he would need another 6.5 seasons. I think he will be in Madrid before that though.
