Fine then. If Levy prefers to lose in him on a free, that's his problem. Better to resign early and move on, instead of repeating another De Jong.
To the Hojlund thread.

Kane wants to leave though. That’s the big differenceKane is at his dream club and would be taking a risk going to Utd as they are unlikely to win much with City in the league. Id say the situation mirrors it quite well.
We don't know that for sure though do we? Like there's been no official quotes or anything about saying he wants to go somewhere else. I feel like it's something he could easily force but doesn't seem to want toKane wants to leave though. That’s the big difference

So you're telling me he doesn't have enough confidence in himself to believe that it would be a different story with him upfront ?Kane is at his dream club and would be taking a risk going to Utd as they are unlikely to win much with City in the league. Id say the situation mirrors it quite well.
Still think we end up getting him
The reports around Kane already seem to be accurate. He certainly has his friends in the mediaWe don't know that for sure though do we? He doesn't need to apply any pressure. The biggest pressure point for Levy is that he has only one year left and it looks like Levy would rather lose him for free. Most unsurprising exclusive ever. Does feel as though Kane is setting this up to put max pressure on Levy to sell to us this summer.

When Levy realises he will join United for free next summerWhat gives you that belief out of interest
Just hand in a transfer request Harry
Kane‘s going to have to stomp his feet pretty hard if he wants to join us. Levy would personally see his new stadium burn to ashes before selling to us.
His situation is fecked however... Cash in now and look weak a la Berbatov or let him go for free and look stupid a la Campbell. The thing with keeping him for his last year as well is whether he’s going to be sufficiently motivated and not just clock watching (especially towards the latter end of the season). He isn’t risking serious injury to jeopardise a big move somewhere and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if there is some bad blood between Kane and Levy.
Kane and his brother agent should have got assurances down in writing when that City saga happened. Someone giving you their word they’ll do something for you isn’t enough in this line of business. People can and will renege and they will paint you as the bastard in those situations.
I dont think it's the fractured relationship he has with us, that's probably mended over time.I see it often and past transactions may give credit to it but why people think that Levy is personally invested in not selling players to United?
See's us as a rival, will probably see it as a personal failure if Harry Kane plays against them twice a yearI see it often and past transactions may give credit to it but why people think that Levy is personally invested in not selling players to United?

But I think he certainly views us as a top 4 rival, and reckon that's the big driver.

I only feel like it's going to be different with Kane because whilst the likes of Modric and Berbatov were great players, Kane is Spurs through and through and Levy is under enough scrutiny as it is, can you imagine what the fanbase will do to him if he sells homeboy Kane to United just when Spurs need him most? I understand it's a little bit more tricky because he could go for a free next year, but honestly if he wants to sell him this year i've no doubt he would sell to Real for a smaller fee before he would even entertain selling to us for a bigger feeGood points, I thought about the rivalry for top 4 but at the same time, they don't really feel like rivals. Also it started before their good runs, I seem to remember that it was a point made during the Modric transfer attempts and United were lightyears above them.

While I think they know they're not top 4 rivals to us, why put us further away from them by giving us their best player? That's my opinion on it anyway. In general, teams in the prem don't like trading with each other, unless inordinate sums, for that reason.Good points, I thought about the rivalry for top 4 but at the same time, they don't really feel like rivals. He can but there is (supposedly) a gentleman’s agreement among European clubs to not sign players using that ruling because all hell would break loose. Can he invoke the Webster ruling?
