Yeah it is his dream club because it's his club and he and his entire family are Spurs fans. Why else is he still there? His dream club? reaaaaally? A club where he's never going to win anything, waste his entire career in comparison with his potential. A club with no direction, changes manager every season, buys scraps from the Italian league and has gone backwards since Poch? The same club where he downed tools at the sniff of signing for City and actually winning things?
That's no one's dream club, despite what lip service might pay the fans.
I only feel like it's going to be different with Kane because whilst the likes of Modric and Berbatov were great players, Kane is Spurs through and through and Levy is under enough scrutiny as it is, can you imagine what the fanbase will do to him if he sells homeboy Kane to United just when Spurs need him most? I understand it's a little bit more tricky because he could go for a free next year, but honestly if he wants to sell him this year i've no doubt he would sell to Real for a smaller fee before he would even entertain selling to us for a bigger fee
Cos his brother is a shit agent?Yeah it is his dream club because it's his club and he and his entire family are Spurs fans. Why else is he still there?
I agree, but at the same time, it's kind of ridiculous for fans to feel that a player owes them their entire career and cannot, under any circumstances, sign for another English club. I fully understand not selling to a genuine enemy, like Arse or Chels, but United and Spurs don't have any serious beef. He's given them so many years and they are worse now than they were 10 years ago. Is this how football is now? If you end up playing for your boyhood club you can never be allowed to leave? It's sort of pathetic.
Gazza went to Spurs, Wazza came to us, Lampard and Joe Cole went to Chelsea. It's generally the way of the world that top class players - even when they start off at their hometown clubs - move on to pastures new when they outgrow their surroundings. Weirdly, because Kane has stayed there so long it almost feels harder for him to leave, when the reality is that if anything he deserves to be able to leave without any shit because he has given that club so much of his life. Even at the height of our success (success that Spurs can only dream of) we lost Becks and Ronaldo to Real - and at the time they were very close rivals, in spite of them being in a different country. It's the way of the world, sometimes players want a different challenge - it's their fecking life FFS, and footballers careers are short. Time for Levy and Spurs fans to stop being such fecking babies, and let Kane leave with their eternal thanks - whether that be for United or Real.I mean I guess so, At the time i'd have absolutely detested the thought of Giggs, Beckham, Scholes etc playing for another English team and playing against us in the league. Like Beckham was my idol, I was a kid and I cried when he went to Real.
I mean, you've gone off on one here because Levy isn't letting Kane join us, would you care so much if it wasn't us involved? There's nothing to say Kane even wants to leave currently, maybe he does, but it's not exactly confirmedGazza went to Spurs, Wazza came to us, Lampard and Joe Cole went to Chelsea. Still think we end up getting him
Agreed. Just a question of at what age.
Imo this is unlikely. He doesn't rely on pace to play anyway. Imo he has at least 3 good seasons left in him.Next summer he may, or may not be required, I am not convinced he is right for us personally, I think he is going to age badly in 3 years.

And he's just perfect for us mate. Not only a PL proven top scorer but also excellent passer, very strong, can keep the ball really well under pressure, very good in the air, excellent linking he'll simply elevate the forwards around him to another level. Plus he doesn't really need much pace to play in a possession based system. You need pace mostly for the counters. To play in a possession based system you'd need technique and brain much more than pace. For a top goal scorer it's actually all about how they read the game, choose their position, move a bit ahead of the defenders and have the strength to outmuscle them. And of course finishing.
The fact Pep was ready to splash +100m on him and only signed Haaland because Levy was too greedy speaks volumes imo. England is knew for overrating their players but Kane is usually so underrated it feels unbelievable really.
I bet Kane wants to leave this summer. He knows that club is going nowhere. And when Levy doesn't sell him, Kane is going to be pissed.
He can but there is (supposedly) a gentleman’s agreement among European clubs to not sign players using that ruling because all hell would break loose.
Well if anyone is in a position to ignore a gentleman's agreement, it's Kane.
Would serve Levy right.
Imo it's quite unlikely. But there's still hope.Do you think he ends up here whether that is this summer or on a free in 2024
Why not? Arsenal only have Jesus level of striker (only score 11 League goals), and they're close on winning title. Can we afford to wait until next year

So Spurs want Sancho... well, Levy knows how to get him. otherwise he can feck right off - I'd be furious if we let them have their target without us getting ours
Hes open to moving and won't sign a new contract.Does he?

Sancho is massively talented, but he just needs to adapt to ETH's style, and regain his confidence. There is a good player in there somewhere, and I trust ETH to bring out the best in him.Levy is even thicker than I thought he was if the interest in Sancho is legit.
Levy will not see the 2024-2025 season if Tottenham are having a similar season and Kane leaves as free agent (Son would be 32-years old too for the 2024-2025 season and the other players are nothing special).
Tottenham will need a miracle to finish in the top four next season with the current squad.
Levy should sell Kane now so the club can get a fresh start (New project) and can spend this money for 3-4 good new players.
We should play their games. Quote them 100m for him. He’s still under contract unlike Kane who as 1 year left on his. We should offer them Martial aswell. So Spurs want Sancho... well, Levy knows how to get him. otherwise he can feck right off - I'd be furious if we let them have their target without us getting ours

How do you know all that?Hes open to moving and won't sign a new contract.
Don't be so naieve.
How do you know all that?
Probably by not burying his head in the sand? How do you know all that?
well, I care enough to spend 2 mins writing a post on RedCafe, but believe me I'm not losing any sleep over it!I mean, you've gone off on one here because Levy isn't letting Kane join us, would you care so much if it wasn't us involved? He pushed for City a few years ago but Levy slammed the door firmly in his face. Now, then he’s got all the contract leverage, hes gunshyNo.
He needs to push for his Utd move. If he doesn’t, he won’t get it, and Utd shouldn’t wait or opt for ‘stop gap’ strikers.

From what I understand the new owners don't suddenly make our budget more elastic. It will certainly allow us to make the moves we were planning on making though.I think if Qatar is announced Kane’ll very quickly start making noises (not just in his usual way of nasal talking…).
But most of all Utd mustn’t be doing anymore stop gaps now imo.
No more faffing around.

Excited toddler dribbling and squeaking kind of thing?I think if Qatar is announced Kane’ll very quickly start making noises (not just in his usual way of nasal talking…).
