Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

I think this saga may still have a few twists and turns. This is likely to be the last big move of his career - if Bayern spend, say, £75 million for him then it's because they think they can get 4 good years out of him. They are not going to sell him back to the Prem at a cut price in 2 years time just cos Harry doesn't like the food, or he's realised that actually he does quite want to get that scoring record after all. Therefore he needs to really think carefully whether he wants to spend the next 4 years in Germany, cos he doesn't really strike me as the type. Normally this would be an obvious point, but this is the man who signed a 6 year deal at Spurs, and who is represented by his brother and Dad. I don't think I can remember a top career ever being managed so inexpertly.

Trouble is those twists and turns are never gonna result in him starting the season here

No worries. It’s probably the most annoying thing about supporting Spurs, Lewis is a billionaire and could inject a lot of cash if he wanted as we are far, far off FFP law, he just doesn’t want to. In 20 years of ownership I think, of their own money, they have put in about £200m
Whilst he could you can also argue he's set Spurs up for the future, that new stadium is a cash cow and once it is paid for Spurs should have serious money to flash around

Probably not, but I can easily imagine a situation where Bayern aren't prepared to meet Levy's valuation and the transfer doesn't happen. Kane is pissed off, and the whole world now knows that he is up for leaving Spurs. United come in with an offer a fair chunk higher than Bayern - Kane senses it's now or never and openly pushes for a move.

It's unlikely but not completely impossible.

Still much better than ours I think. At least they've put some money in. We're probably the only club in the world where the owner not only taking cash from the club but also make the club pay for the loan they got to buy it.

Anyway back to the topic, bad news it seems Bayern is quite serious about getting Kane. Around 75m + add ons and Levy will sell I think. Let's see what United gonna do but with the current takeover going on (forever) the chance we have 100m for Kane is quite small imo. I really want Kane here what a shame.

Oh I totally agree, we make money hand over fist, like I said I appreciate what he has done. Problem is in the current environment you aren’t gonna compete without capital money. ENIC won’t do that, Levy’s idea was a self sufficient club, you spend what you make, sadly even with all the new laws that simply doesn’t happen. I’m from Northern Ireland so I don’t get to the stadium regularly but I’ve been twice, once on a guided tour and it is simply amazing. So yeah I don’t hate what Levy has done but we won’t compete with him at the top.

Never have I wanted that to happen so much, however when a club ends interest they don't generally return that window

If you paid £120m for Kane you wouldn’t be disappointed seriously, he has carried us since Poch left. He still has 4-5 years in him I’m guessing in midfield.

I haven't seen the new one, I used to live a couple of miles away and avoided the area like the plague because it was basically a traffic jam 99% of the time!

Buying all these PL frauds will eventually ruin Bayern.

Combination of so many poor buys in the last ten years and ownership farce has meant we aren't in a position to just add him to an already quality squad which is sickening. Our timing is abysmal when these top class forwards are available

I'm getting flashbacks to Rooney's latter years reading that. If we paid big money for Harry Kane the midfielder, that would be very disappointing.

Kane won't decline like that I am certain

What is with all the public reports of clubs essentially tapping up players? Have the rules changed? Otherwise, how is Tuchel permitted to apparently have a chat with Kane about joining Bayern? Alternatively, does that mean Spurs have given him permission to have that discussion (indicating that they will sell)?

Discussions were held with his family. It's the loophole everyone uses.

Yeah I know how good Kane is. He's just perfect for ETH. Problem is I don't think we have the money required. Maybe later when the takeover is finished but it'd be too late then. What a shame really.

Hope Levy got stupidly greedy again and asks Bayern for 100m.

Yeah 100% when the takeover is done will definitely be too late now Bayern are pushing hard. Like you say he's perfect striker for Erik but his damn hands are tied. He is being forced to look on whilst Tuchel seals the deal.

I will be very impressed if he grows some balls and leaves Spurs. Bayern is an ideal club for him.

His team has no creativity from midfield, in fairness. I don’t think he drops so deep for England as he does for Spurs.
Yeah he will move deeper if he feels he needs to do so to get involved in the play and he is extremely good at it. Even with dropping deep he can still score a large number of goals which is what makes him such a special player. For what it's worth I think he will have a career long into his 30's at a very high level. He is not 30 just yet and I'd say he can do another 3 or 4 years playing in exactly the same way as he does now before probably dropping back into a deeper role for another couple of years. He will be superb at that I think and will be playing top level football at 35/36.

I think the best option for him right now may indeed be to stay at Spurs and move for free next summer wherever he wants.

I also worked for years across the road from OT and even on match days the traffic was never that bad!

Sadly I have been to OT about 25 times as all my mates are United fans, so we try and get over for the Spurs-United game or the Liverpool games, great atmosphere. Always good craic.

Kane is one of the strangest players for me personally. I absolutely think he's world class...but I'm oddly never that bothered when we are linked to him and it doesn't pan out. That must mean something but I could not ever adequately explain what it is...

His ability to do that is the exact reason why I am absolutely gutted we aren't rivalling Bayern for him

Bar the likes of Haaland not many transfers have me absolutely fuming we aren't involved but this is definitely one of them

I'm hoping to get over to see the next Utd-Spurs game at OT - maybe see you there in Jan

See, I feel like I should feel the same way...but for some reason I don't. If pressed I might have a terrible feeling his decline will be so rapid when it comes that he will be virtually unplayable. That might be it, although I don't feel that way strongly. It's very odd.

Unless Kane signs a new contract ASAP it's suicidal from a financial perspective not to sell Kane. It will obviously hurt less to fans selling him to Bayern.

If I was Kane and Levy blocked moves to City and the Bayern two summers in a row...I'd just stroll around the Spurs pitch hoofing passes into the crowd for a year.

Grow a pair Harry and get yourself out of there!
