And I presume that Hoeness, Rummenigge et al have been lobotomised in this scenario. And as a thank you, we will let Bayern Munich sign Martial for the bargain price of £50m plus bonuses

I don't think your odds are actually equal though. They have a CL winning manager and CL winning players. Experience means a lot in that competition and there's heavily outweighs that of Man Utd's."Almost all of Kane's professional playing career" is not the same thing as "at this moment in time". Sure, Bayern can gobble up as many league titles as they please. However, "at this moment in time", we are just as likely to win the Champions League as they are. So no, they are not a fairly large jump up from us. Unless of course you really value Bundesliga titles, which I do not.
Why in the world would Tottenham do that though? My wishful thinking is that he stays but won’t renew, and we can pick him up for like £20M-£30M in the winter window.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs' current squad has more CL experience than Man Utd's does.
Why's that funny?
Why's that funny?
Without checking Spurs and Man Utd have likely made CL about an equal amount of times the past decade including a CL final for Spurs. Maybe the Ajax players in United's squad bumps up their games played numbers?

Casemiro and Varane as someone else pointed out. Why's that funny?

I mean I disagree with anyone saying United has much of a chance at the CL as Bayern do, obviously not true until we start doing anything in the CL again...I don't think your odds are actually equal though. Odds are all well and good, until...they are not. All it means is that United are good value right now and Bayern aren't. They have a reasonable recent history, but that counts for nothing.I don't think your odds are actually equal though. They have a CL winning manager and CL winning players. I'm not saying Spurs are better or more likely. Far from it.I mean I disagree with anyone saying United has much of a chance at the CL as Bayern do, obviously not true until we start doing anything in the CL again...
But please, don't bring Spurs into this FFS![]()
It counts for a lot actually...I don't understand how you can throw out what they've done and who they have on staff and in the locker room so casually.Odds are all well and good, until...they are not. Mentioning Spurs is just comical.
Yeah I don't disagree with most of it, was just on the Spurs point given the Madrid lads!I'm not saying Spurs are better or more likely. Far from it.
Just saying that experience means a lot and Bayern are loaded from top to bottom with it. It was more a comparison of how much people will sneer at Spurs but somehow are favoring United especially over the likes of a perennial contender like Bayern when Spurs and United have been about evens with CL qualification and CL progress this last decade or so.
But fair play I forgot about the Real Madrid lads.
They have good players - so do we. They have a decent manager - so do we. There isn't much between the sides. Absolutely nothing to fear.It counts for a lot actually...I don't understand how you can throw out what they've done and who they have on staff and in the locker room so casually.
The fact is you've done absolutely nothing to be considered good value.
You’ve made one CL in 4 years. Why's that funny?

Upamecano and de Ligt over Varane and Martinez is wild.
Coman is your best winger, Sane or Gnabry are meh, so I take Coman and Rashford.
Kimmich starts but I'd take Casemiro over Goretzka.
Mueller is past it, Bruno over him.
Shaw is probably better than Davies.
Bayern were lucky that BVB shat the bed, but their true level as shown in Europe is very poor.
The gulf in clubs is not that wide imo
Definitely not vs Henderson. It will be Onana.Sommer/Neuer, though we seem to be losing Sommer, and you no longer have de gea, so this one is no longer fair with Neuer, or maybe Nübel (if we even get to keep him) vs Henderson.
Also, Weghorst doesn't play for us anymore. It will most likely be Højlund. And of course up top I would rather have Choupo-GOATing rather than Wout. Though we both are in dire need of a real striker.

Many of the selections are very debatable. There is very little between the sides.
Onana is flying in for his medical pretty much as we speak. I probably wouldn't dispute it if you edged it 6-5. Nor would I rule us out of edging it 6-5.That's right, is that official now? Been a bit offline so not up to date on other teams transfers yet, thats for tomorrow to read about. Well I'd take Neuer over him for maybe one, potentially two more seasons at least.
Well if he doesn't then that's a free hit I guess, as we have choupo.

In fairness, United have been pretty AWOL at the top table for much of the last decade so you could say that they have it all to prove. However man for man, I'd argue that they would be pretty competitive against most sides in Europe.Well, we are both biased, but there's no harm in having the conversation nonetheless. As I said, I see a lot I like in several of your players, and maybe my bias is also from watching my team every week, and yours only during the bigger games, and that shapes these opinions. Which I'm sure goes both ways.

If he stays I don't see him going to Bayern though. For an English player he'll fancy staying in England especially with his goal record. If united continue to rise I think an English player will fancy united over moving to Germany.Surely the most obvious scenario is him staying this season and signing a pre-contract with Bayern in January? Can't see any other outcome to be honest.

Or Kane could say: "Either you sell me to United, or risk seeing me go for free to a London rival next summer and face the supporters wrath"
Think that might do the trick![]()

No one in their right mind is going to spend 100m on a 30 year old with 10 months left on his contract.
It's a game of chicken, but I think Levy blinks and accepts a reasonable fee towards the end of the window.
My wishful thinking is that he stays but won’t renew, and we can pick him up for like £20M-£30M in the winter window.
If Levy thinks Kane is worth £100m for a season, no way they sell in Jan for those values.
They’ll still be in for European spots in January. If he’s there in September he’s there until June.
Levy doesn't know the words reasonable fee but intrigued what figure you have in mind
Yeah our best hope is him still being on the market in January to negotiate deal for summer,no chance in a million years that Levy will let him go in the middle of season despite how well we might be doing at that stage
Only overseas clubs can sign him on a pre contract in Jan. We can’t.
Didn't realise that which is poor on my part
There's something called age. No player in their 30s is worth 100m let alone 150m. Kane will be 30 years in a month and will have very little resale value, if anything. There may be non footballing reasons for such crazy valuations - brand, oil, new owners etc, but to ask 150m for a 30-year-old Kane is outright ridiculous. If he weren't English, he would've probably been valued at 80m.min a week we seen Declan Rice goes for £105m anything less than £150m for Kane is a fecking joke. At the end of the day Kane didn’t cost us anything transfer wise and we certainly got our moneys worth wages wise.
