This is so utterly stupid. The Sprint Race clearly isnt going to be happening anytime soon and starting under a Safety Car is pointless anyway. Doesnt look anywhere near safe enough to race under green flags.

Spa is in notorious location for heavy rains out of nowhere. But 10 years ago the race would have started.
Makes zero sense to me as well. You think after that fiasco 2 years ago they would have looked at a different time altogether. Its not as its exactly a new thing to rain at Spa.

Yep funnily enough 20 f1 cars on full wets will clear alot of water off the track very quickly. As Brundle says all the time.

Hang on Sky are on about cars pitting after the SC comes in, I thought there was no pits on the sprint race

Ferrari with their tyre degradation will be a shitshow.
You can always pit during a sprint race, dont know where the idea came from that you cant.
It will depend on how long the cars are stuck behind the safety car. We know Wittich is utterly pathetic and it's not beyond him to run 10 laps in formation, by which point it'll probably suit softs.

FIA were always going to be ultra conservative at this circuit given its recent history and incidents this year.

Could be hilarious if they do 3-4 laps and then all dive into the pits for inters.
I do have a major soft spot for these wooded/hill circuits like Spa, Hockenheim and the Red Bull Ring. Something about it is just so old school magical.
