I admire anyone who genuinely believes we are gonna match their bid. Unfortunately you are in serious heartache on that one
I don't admire them i shocked by their delusion and entitlement

Close thread.United are not spending £100m + £500k a week on Kane when we have just signed a £64m striker.
Hijack anyone?
I disagree with that. I think it's predictable, choosing to go to Bayern is the wimpy option. I don't care what people in here say but Harry Kane did not grow up dreaming of winning the Bundesliga, he finally has the chance to push to sign for a team that can compete for the premier league and the major trophies in England but then he won't have the excuse that his team is not good enough anymore, Tottenham have been holding Harry Kane back and he hasn't won a trophy cos his team is shite. If he goes to Bayern he doesn't want the pressure, he's bottled it.
I'm not even saying it as United fan in the sense that I'm pissed he won't join us, if he chose to join Chelsea or even Arsenal I'd respect him more but joining Bayern Munich is the easy way out. The Wimpy way out.
Best PL striker in the past decade, Englands all time top scorer has never won a trophy in England, it's a joke.
Ah yeah I mean if Kane was available on a free then by all means go for it, it would make sense for us, if it's still needed depending on how hojlund develops over the season. But getting him now doesn't make sense for either party at that price IMO.Given he can leave on a free if it were me I’d stay knock another 20+ goals closer to the record and then have the pick of some top sides.
I don’t mean next as in 2023/24 I mean surely it makes more sense to wait until 2024/25 season so sign Kane on the free and save the ~£90m fee.
The reason I starred Pavard is because I’d sign him for the now. Then add Kane depending on Højlund’s development.
For me that makes the most sense. Rather than now trying to find that amount to bring someone in a year early. And if that’s not something Kane wants to wait for then move on.
It'd be pretty awful business by Bayern to allow a cheap buyout on what would be by far their record transfer. If he goes, he'd likely go for 4 years at a minimum no? I can certainly picture a romantic end-of-career return to Spurs but he needs 48 goals to beat Shearer's record, it'd be impressive if he's still at a 25-goal a season player at the age of 35 or so. I reckon if he goes, the record goes too.Could he not come back in a couple of years and try and get the record? No idea how long he will play for but Spurs if they are clever could get some kind of cheap buyback clause for the future.
I don' think his legacy would be the same. Highest PL goal scorer and Spurs legend.. but who never won the PL or the CL. He'd win the League Cup at best. Does he want to be remembered as that? Even that record might not stand decades later. Even Shearer has a PL. I think for players of his quality, big trophies matter. At Bayern he is definitely winning the league, and maybe even a CL in 3-4 years. He can comeback at 35 and still get the PL record if everything falls in place.Looks like I'm in the minority. If I was Kane I'd stay.
PL record + Spurs greatest ever player > Bundesliga and a German Cup
Does Kane make Bayern one of the main CL contenders again? They fell off a little in the last 2 years.
If I were a Spurs fan I would wonder very strongly about how good this money will be to the club. There's no suggestion there's anyone close to Kane's level available on the market, let alone for that price.
By letting him go they are massively signalling there is a downsizing of expectations.
I wonder if they wouldn't be better off keeping him another year as he's their best bet of reaching a top five finish and getting into the CL next season, you never know, if they achieve that he might even be considering extending his stay.

I think the 500k pw figure is absolute ass tbh.Kane and his brother are not smart enough to play that game.

He already plays for one of the biggest clubs in the world that challenges for the top titles though. It's a great move for him and i can't understand how anyone doesn't see that.
Of to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world and challenge for the top titles.
We're the biggest club in the world. Now is the time to prove it.
I would very much like us to match the €100M and see what happens. Rasmus is apparently injured for quite some time, and Martial isn't reliable, so we really do need another striker.
"We can do things in the transfer market that other clubs can only dream of. Watch this space."

The best possible move for Kane IMO.
Gets to win 3-4 league titles, probably UCL, and if that happens he has a good shot at winning the Ballon d’Or. chances of doing either of that in England would have been very low.
A bit of a lazy move, perhaps, but he is starved for trophies.

Lewandowski was a covid away from winning it. Benzema won it. Kane is almost as good as them. He's not winning the Ball on D'Or let's be honest. He's really good, but he's not THAT good.
He'll be Bayern's best player by a distance. It's a given that they'll sweep up domestically, and if they win the CL then he'll be in with a good shout at the Balon by default. He's not winning the Ball on D'Or let's be honest. He's really good, but he's not THAT good.

Lewandowski was a covid away from winning it. Kane is around that level.
If Bayern wins UCL (of course they will win Buli), and he is their best player (which he likely is), he can easily win it. In 3-4 seasons there, they have some good chance of winning 1 UCL.
Thinking back to last year, replacing Upamecano with Kim may prove to be a bigger contributing factor to potential CL success than adding Kane.Does Kane make Bayern one of the main CL contenders again? They fell off a little in the last 2 years.
The biggest winner if Kane goes to Bayern is Shearer. He'll be cracking open the champers knowing that he can continue to eat out on "top PL scorer" for the foreseeable. It'd be pretty awful business by Bayern to allow a cheap buyout on what would be by far their record transfer. If he were to win the CL league combo with bayern he'd win it the same way lewa would have had it not been for Covid. He's not winning the Ball on D'Or let's be honest. He's really good, but he's not THAT good.
He’ll play 3 to 4 years in Germany then return to Spurs to try and beat Shearer’s record.
He's very similar stylistically to Kane when Kane first broke through. He'd cost a bomb though and he's not a sure thing.Maybe Evan Ferguson?
