1-1 would be a very good result to take back to OT. Giggs with the goal.
 
How can Fergie forgets totti, totti is a great player who finds his best form playing 4 roma not their national side.
Brown (f chosen to play with rio) should prove his potential.

I fear though that we will get something more like rarraroons prediction earlier with giggs playing up front (not effective if you ask me) and rooney out wide being utterly wasted.

fecking feck!! Ronaldo needs to be on the left, and with Park out, this is almost certainly not going to be the case for most of the match. :(
 
Really hard to figure out what the side will be tomorrow. It's surely too soon to expect Saha or Fletcher to start. Maybe Smith or SOlskjaer will have to start?

If we go there to defend then we would be playing the Roma's game. I mean AS Roma pride of various players who are able to crack anyone's defense expecially from out of the box were Totti and De Rossi are lethal

In my opinion we should play to our strengths and base much of our game on the flanks (Italian sides arent used to that). It would be advisable to partner Rooney with Smith since Roma's central midfield is physically very strong and it would need the help of any hardworking and tough tackling player who can drop deep and push the ball up. Therefore my formation would be.

I have a weird feeling about this game!! would be happy if we get a draw out of there keeping out injuries in mind...... pretty damn sure we'll kill em off at the theatre!!

Saha set to feature

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Louis Saha will play some part in United's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Roma on Wednesday night.

The French striker is fit again after a hamstring strain and travelled out to Italy with the team on Tuesday morning.

Darren Fletcher also joined the squad and both he and Saha are expected to be included on the bench.

"Louis will play some part in the match," confirmed Sir Alex at his pre-match press briefing. "The original plan was for he and Darren to play for the Reserves on Thursday evening, but I felt we needed some more experience in the squad.

"The recent injuries we've picked up have been a test for the squad. But we've shown that we can cope."

Trust in SAF - he knows what he is doing. And if we do go out of this one - we will probably do the double.
 
It's a hard one to judge. I think our lineup will be a little surprising.

If we play Rooney on the left, he's going to get a bit lost during the match. You need him in the middle causing havoc, throwing his weight about. Personally i'd put Saha on the bench, and give him a 20minute run out preparing him for Pompey match.

I'd play;

When we attack, allow Ronnie and Giggs to push up, leaving our 3 midfielders to fill the gaps. I don't think we'd leak a goal if we had this formation and i think it's playing all our best players in their natural positions. It also gives us the option of pushing Scholes in behind Rooney if we want.

Ronnie would be bombing up and down anyway, so it would play more like a 4-4-2 with Fletch on the right.
 
The Park injury is a big loss with the form he is in and his ability to fight to regain possesion. Hopefully Fletch's fitness is up to scratch.

I want us to go out there and play premiership football to win. Its an away match and it will be extremely important to score as many away goals as we can. No more being overly cautious. We need to make the return leg at Old Trafford as hard for Roma as possible.
