Israel - Palestine Discussion | Post Respectfully | Discuss more, tweet less

Funny how most israeli officials calling for atrocities to be committed are invariably nobodies and shouldn't be taken seriously. Hamas officials, however, speak for all palestinians.

I cannot speak about the Hamas officials. I've no idea about that.

As for the Israelis, I have to say that my disregard towards these politicians is not a positive thing. It symbolize the depths that Israeli politics has sunk into. There's a big bunch of low lifes in the parliament and the government as well. The number of ministers is unbelievably high - over 30 - which means that there are many who are holding offices nobody needs & no one has any idea what they actually do.

So when those people speak of such matters, it looks and sounds terrible. Actually, it IS terrible, because those are horrible things to say. But they are not really decision makers or anything like that.

This is not good enough, but it's better than them being able to dictate the decisions made by the people actually involved in running the war.

The visuals in this piece are insane.

Very good piece.

Anyone know what happens to all the dead bodies in Gaza? Is there even space to bury them?
Beyond the dead bodies and I'm sure the final death toll will be absolutely horrific, how in the hell is the Gaza supposed to function when this "war" is over? The Israelis have been true to their word, it's going to be a city of tents at best.

The US suddenly developed some common sense and realised it's better for geo politics if they don't confront the Houthis.

They have saudi arabia for that Most likely they prefer to sell the arms to the saudis (on the billions so far in thd yemeni war) than spend them themselves

The Saudis (and the Emaratis) backed down from participating in the red sea operation after threats from the Houthis of sending rockets toward their oil refineries.

I just watched Republican Michelle Bachmann talk about Gaza, I have never been more angry about how blatant genocide and ethnic cleansing can be talked about in public. It makes the blood boil that they never face any form of criticism for saying that out loud. But you could lose your job if you call for a cease fire.

Then the man beside her, wow.. how are these normal human beings?

These folk are white taliban even down to the oppression of women.

If that would be a real menace for the saudis, the houthis would used it a long time ago during the war of the last several years, isnt it?

They did

in 2019 they put Aramco storages on fire.

But they are now on a truce since april 2022.

There you go. they didn't stop the war for 3 years knowing what they could do. Anyway, whichever is the excuse, it doesn't matter as long it doesnt escalate

If they consider them possible Hamas operatives then they would just murder them. They don't do trials and it's war so won't be imprisoning them.

Not far fetched to me given the footage we've seen.
The IDF has taken Hamas prisoners before though. The idea that they don't take prisoners and just execute on the spot doesn't really fly.

Take them to detention camps, and then kill them?

That is not very far fetched. It's an absolute lie.

It's coming from the Gaza Government Media office and there are other sources. There have been a lot of testimonies of similar incidents though the number of people killed is usually not that big.
If it happened, they wouldn't bury them in Gaza, where they could be found after the war. A quick autopsy would reveal a mass execution.

Not buying it, and you should really be careful with this kind of tweets.

Current IDF and Israel don't strike me as particularly concerned about being caught doing war crimes.

These are coming directly from a Gazan official. It's not created from thin air. The founder of a human rights organization which is where the tweet coming from didn't make it up. People can choose to whether believe it or not but history has taught us there is nothing beyond the IOF.

They do for example this sort of stuff regularly in a non-war zone.

The Russians have used mass graves, in Bucha for example, so it's perfectly conceivable that the Israelis would too.

And what? What would happen (that shouldn’t happen anyway)?

They‘re like a spoiled child.. been allowed to do pretty much anything for most of their life, no punishment, a parent who thinks they can do no wrong and now past the point of redemption.

US deemed Israel's intel unreliable on Hezbollah's intentions and told the Israeli's not to do it.

How do those things connect?

The US dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima, so is it perfectly conceivable that the Israelis would too?

There are many more similarities between Bucha and Gaza than between Hiroshima and Gaza though.

It doesn't make sense to me that they'd let such a blatant proof, in Gaza of all places, of one of the worst war crimes you can commit. Aren't they banging for decades about them being "most moral army in the world" (I'll always laugh so hard at this notion)?

The IDF is a criminal, racist and disgusting army, right in line with their criminal, racist and disgusting government and I consider them much, much worse than the Russians. But that dumb they are not.

They are all what you say and then some more, but there's a limit to how much you can push it. Furthermore it's much easier, and more sound, to take the "prisoners" to a remote place and discreetly murder them rather than do it in the open.

Unless irrefutable proof, I'm not buying this one.

They are not. They've shot their own hostages which tells you everything you need to know about them. However, letting a mass grave in the open is a whole different ball game.

Without the US the whole region would've been in flames right now, and Israel getting every single missile the Hezbollah and the Houthi have.

What strikes me is Israel's risk tolerance there. Starting a war with Hezbollah seems excessively risky for Israel.
