If he keeps this up it'll start reminding me of when young Cristiano started regularly banging in one or two in games. Even when he's not fully on it you're still thinking he could score at some point.

It wasn't then what it has become. I almost think it's become a marketing tool for players now, rather than them thinking it's the best number for their position. Maybe Garnacho is different as he's grown up in the club to a certain extent.
I don't mind the lad making mistakes or looking a bit headless at times. He's a winger who players like a winger, even if he can be frustrating. His all round game is developing this season so hopefully his trajectory will continue.

Thing about Garnacho is that he always looks a good finisher and makes decent runs. Just needs to get into these positions more frequently and maybe play more off ball let others do the donkey work and find him in those dangerous positions

I get that he scores goals, but if you see at how little he converts, compared to the amount of matches he has done. i still think in 4-5 situations, Højlund was way better positioned, and a proper FAST pass in front of goal would have been a better solution, than to move the ball a bit around, and then either back in the box towards a Bruno that sorry DID nothing, or wasting it.
He got 2 goals today, and Hurray for that.. but he just needs to be MUCH LESS selfish. if it works, because the days without the luck for him, the first deflection as an example, he just looks pisspoor.. he is fast, and he did GREAT runs.
and he is MILES better than Antony but it is just constant ON/OFF, WAY to unstable, and no eye for other players.
to be honest, the awakening for me on Manchester, is getting stronger CB back (looked so back when he got injured) getting Shaw in the game, Casemiro with a bit of security. and that even though he gets VERY little to play with, Højlund actually getting goals.

Guzman used to be our scout for Spain, no idea if he still works for us though.
Modern obsession with inverted wingers, and the thought of garnacho being a teenager and the easiest thing for him was not playing him "out of position"... Right wing is definitely natural to him though, he's not as good on the left.

He'll be frightening when his body develops into a man's. I recall Ashley Williams saying this about Bale. Around 2010 / 2011 Bale just suddenly came into the Welsh dressing room completely jacked up.
Different though. Bale was always a sprinter and not based on agility, bulking didn't hurt him. Garnacho isn't that fast over long distances, his main strength physically is his great agility and that burst over a few yards. Bulking up would be horrible for him. He needs to get that worry, sterling type strength. The more I watch, I think his growth path is like a Raheem Sterling who has very good shooting technique.

Disagree. Garnacho is 6' and will likely sprout to ~6'1. He'll never be the Sterling sort with that kind of centre of gravity. He'll obviously be his own man but it makes sense for him to focus more on power similar to what Ronaldo and Bale did. Pace-wise he's no slouch either. He's already one of the fastest in the PL and like Bale, will likely get even quicker as his body develops.
Are you sure? I think he's around 5'10, here is a picture from last season where he is taller than Pelli but just under Martial. So unless he hit a growth spurt in the last two months and grew over two inches..

Did that last year too and noted that he is surprisingly tall. I also recall seeing some training videos/pictures of his physique and feck me are his thighs humungous.
Edit: Seems like a few other sources like Football Manager and Transfrmarket also has him at 1.8m. In comparison, Pellistri is ~1.75m and Martial at 1.81m.

Yes I don't disagree with that. The comparison was mostly on the mental side of their game and for me, that initial assumption of them being perhaps a bit too one--dimensional. For Ronaldo, it was too much flair and not enough direct play and for Garnacho, it's too many take-ons and duels as opposed to using the space he's initially created with better passes/end product/movement.
I think like Ronaldo though, Garnacho may be able improve on his reading of the game off the ball immensely and making runs to get into more goal scoring positions and using his agility to stretch the game for us. I'm not sure if his dribbling and take-on ability is going to improve exponentially.
Agreed on everything you said apart from the bolded! At his level Sterling has fairly poor and inconsistent shooting technique, which is strange to say for a player with that many goals. It's more accurate to say he has elite movement off the ball and that's what gets him into so many situations to get the chances he does.
Is he actually better on the right wing? I'm really surprised how well he's taken to switching over.
I'm saying garnacho would be like sterling, but with very good shooting technique! Garnacho has excellent technique with both feet.

I think Garnacho on the left is one-dimensional. I think on the right he is more unpredictable. He varies between cutting inside and going on the outside, as well as he is able to feint and use dribbles inside the box. He also varies his crosses more - sometimes an early cross or a pass, and sometimes he goes to the byline. On the left, he cuts inside 9/10 times. I think his dribbling and take-on ability will improve if he is able to gain that little bit more acceleration and top speed. Nani was a brilliant dribbler - arguably better than Ronaldo, but he became more efficient at it when he stopped trying to look good and realised he was simply faster than pretty much any fullback and subsequently became more direct in his approach.
I don't think Garnacho will reach Ronaldo's level, but he can reach a level of a very good PL winger and maybe even world class, who knows - but thinking any good prospect will ever reach those heights iwhen it s nigh on impossible may cause too much expectations.
I'm really not sure who he reminds me most of.
Considering Ronaldo has only one rival in all of football history, this is a pretty safe claim.

I understand this as he has not been a perfect player. But what you're missing is that he is a 19 year old. It takes years to develop decision making and consistency. He is showing most of the right signs.
My unpopular take is that he is more exciting as a left winger but given the lack of right wing options it's definitely the correct call to play him on the right.
