Casemiro is an enigma. Makes many vital interceptions and tackles but gifts possession away like no tomorrow but he’s also capable of making great first time passes. This is where we’ll miss Martinez.

Ever since he left Madrid he went from a water carrying no.6 to being a fast and loose passer. Shackles have basically come loose after leaving Kroos and Modric.

I personally don’t think it’s a yellow, and it hardly ever is in most games, where players (including ours) get away with this sort of fouls without it being a yellow unless they do it several times.

Here it was Mainoo’s first foul of this half so it’s a harsh yellow for me, and he could’ve won the ball if he was one second faster. It’s not as if he clipped the player or pulled his shirt

That game peaked at the goal, after which Villa have been getting more and more into the match.

Some really poor officiating, something which the Villa players have potentially realised and used to their advantage in the last 10 mins. Poor decisions both ways though.

United need to buck up and not feck up 2nd half. We aren’t going to win this playing like the last 15 mins of the first half.

Our lack of pace in midfield and defense means we'll always concede chances. Licha is a big miss in this game. He'd love playing balls through Villa's high line. Varane has done it a few times but Maguire on his weaker side can't do the same. Also, it's sad seeing Casemiro a yard behind the play every time. He shouldn't have been booked though. Dalot and Onana have done their jobs well.

This will come down to us scoring again as I doubt we'll be able to hold them off as the game goes on. We've come close a few times, just need a bit more sharpness when we get the ball.

Really good start by us. I was afraid we wouldn't capitalise on that but thankfully we did.

We really dropped off after scoring though. I do think we've weathered the worst of it but we need to wake up a bit again. It was crazy how how easy they were exploiting the gaps between midfield, defense/fullbacks. Particularly on Dalot's side.
