Rooney has 1 Yellow and Smith has 1 Yellow, and I think Geary has 1 Yellow for Sheffield.
The confusion seems to be caused because when the referee carded Smith, a few seconds later with the yellow card in his hand he put his arm up and seemed to make some kind of signal to the sideline with the card still in his hand, maybe on accident and it looked like he had booked Rooney also.
Rooney is getting very frustrated at his own game. Hasn't much to do with Sheffield United I reckon. He's been poor, has given the ball away in stupid situations and has generally looked sluggish
