City and Financial Doping | Charged by PL with numerous FFP breaches

You wonder how many trophies this lot have to win before the other clubs decide on real industrial action.

You suspect loads and loads more, as it's only the clubs they're denying titles and the odd club missing top 4 because of them who care.

The Palace, Everton, Villa types probably couldn't give a toss about it.

I didn't think I'd be so annoyed but this leaves a really bad taste.

Everton and Forest had a few charges, it was dealt with quickly, points were deducted and both teams were dragged into a relegation battle.

City with 115+ charges, no sign of any punihsment and allowed to keep winning. Almost zero chance all these trophies will be stripped further down the line either.

A complete f**** disgrace.

Especially as the charges only relate to a certain period not including the last 4 or 5 years.

It’s genuinely really weird as a PL watcher these days. You know it’s kind of a farce, then even when they aren’t good enough ,despite the cheating, they have a couple of refs on the payroll (sadly that’s not an exaggeration). I don’t get why Arteta doesn’t just go to town on them. Call it out for what it is.

How do teams like Arsenal even motivate themselves when they have to beat a cheat mode Football Manager team to win this league?

Maybe because Arteta was complicit during his time at City?

Absurd opinion imo, but you do you.

Not absurd at all, in my opinion.

The only people I imagine deeply care about City are either new Liverpool supporters who started following them in the Klopp ""era"", hence know City as their biggest rival for the PL,

Or Man United fans who are from Manchester / have direct contact with family members, friends, colleagues who support City and will give them banter.

I'm obviously generalizing, but there must be millions of United supporters around the world who never cared deeply about City before 2008, and don't feel much towards state-owned City at present, because their success seems hollow to various extent- depending on the person.

I forgot today was the last day of the PL.
Would never have happened if Liverpool had a chance to win something major.

I rather City won the PL over Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea all day long.

Chelsea as another club that won a lottery, I hated them straight away. Mourinho, Terry, Drogba, Lampard... they felt real.
I hated Wenger and Henry and Vieira and Pires, I seriously dislike Arteta.
hated everything to do with Liverpool ever since I was about 12.

Even if I tried hating anyone at City, who would that be (now that Kompany isn't there)?
Pep? He tries too hard.

Noel Gallagher annoys me much more than the entire City staff & squad.

They succeeded in everything but one thing, which is to make people give a shit about them.

Us winning 5 titles in 7 years between 2006 and 2013 is way more impressive than City winning 6 titles in 7 years between 2017 and 2024. The titles in that period that we didn’t win are ones we missed out on by one point (2010) and on goal difference (2012). City meanwhile finished well behind Liverpool in 2020.

It will all come crumbling down once Pep leaves.

They are too scared to charge them with him in the helm. Think of the brand.

Other clubs are more interested in their traditional rivalries. Who does City have rivalries with? And so everyone would rather City win than their traditional rivals, celebrating each time City wins a title.

I’m not even from England, yet I despise City. Granted, that’s because I’m only 25 and have only been following football since 2010.

Yep and if City had just had one their most obvious charges dealt with this season and then had a few point taken away like Forest and Everton, then Arsenal would have won the title, and the 4 leagues in row would never have happened. It could have been the first part of the impending punishment that would have meant something.

This has been dealt with terribly, and average fan has every right to feel cheated by the PL.

We're all assuming they'll get found guilty on at least some of the 115 charges.

Imagine the madness if they get cleared.

But then if they do get charged, if it's a mere fine/suspension from a few transfer windows or a couple of points dedudction, there has to be a boycott from the clubs or fans. It's the only way,

Refusing to go to any game your club plays against Man City as he absolute start.

I despise the idea of City, PSG, Newcastle if the become anoher one of those, Man United being owned by Qatar if that was to happen...
the fact that I'm trying hard to hate them but don't really manage to, probably shows how alienated I feel towards football.

"Game has gone" and all that shite... well yeah. feels like it.
Probably felt like that for a couple of decades for football fans down the leagues, mind.

At least Chelsea were a big(ish) club before Abramovic.

City weren't even in the top division most of the time when I was a kid.

Sorry mate, City won't be stripped down any trophies. Everton's charges have nothing to do with City's charges. City charges are from Mancini era focusing on what may or may not have happened regarding City's reporting. Not like City went bankrupt and hid it. FFP is there to make sure clubs don't go red as a result of irresponsible spending. City's owners have invested in their club just like how Abramovich in the past and how Todd Boehly now is investing in Chelsea without putting the club in a financial risk.

And in the past 6-7 years, Arsenal and Liverpool have spent close to City in terms of netspend while United and Chelsea spent more in terms of netspend. City are just a well-run club both from a business administration and sporting management point of view.

Spot on. I receive daily attempted banter from City supporting fans/friends, but it just falls on deaf ears. They're not a proper club, everything about them is just so m'eh, fake and boring. They may aswell be renamed Mansour FC, the clubs his play thing and the fans are his sugar babies.

I don't know how you can bring 115 charges, and then prove none of them, it would be farcical by the PL.

It has to all or nothing when the punishment comes aswell, if they prove them guilty, and then do what you wrote then the PL is sunk imo.

And if they somehow don't prove anything and City get off because they didn't comply or have better lawyers, etc, then the same applies.

Okay, have fun watching City break every record United have then, you do you.

The lesson here is cheat to such an extent that it takes years to sort out, then refuse to cooperate with any investigation.

The way we've been run the last decade you wonder how many billions we'd have needed to spend to do what they're doing.

even if they got a slap on the wrist punishment of 4 points deducted, it would have just cost them the title. It is simply INSANE that this is still ongoing and nobody is really stepping up to address just how absurd it is. so what, if they do get a points deduction, simply timing means theyre allowed to keep 4 in a row? The integrity and credibility of the sport and this whole process is at zero.

Did they win the league again? I'll remember to passionately shrug once I finish this sandwich.
I'm not even mad. When Liverpool won I was seething. Every time Chelsea and Arsenal pipped us to the title I was upset. With City I just feel.....meh. They're so artificial that nothing they do even registers with me.

Depressing that they’ve beaten or equalled things that set us apart from others. I know it’s cheating but clearly until something (unlikely) happens everyone carries on as normal preaching they’re the greatest.

Agreed with other posters who have questioned why teams/managers haven’t called it out. There’s obviously a gagging order floating about but it’s mental we’ve seen deductions for teams yet there’s no end in sight here.

Pep saying he’s staying on suggests they’re confident feck all will happen too. That was fairly obvious, but we all dared to dream they’d meet their maker.

Abu Dhabi own English football now. Good for them I guess.

Amazed that the PL allowed it to happen, but I suppose that at the time the most important thing for them was to stop our dominance.

2012 Utd 89
2024 Arsenal 89
2022 Liverpool 92
2019 Liverpool 97

The 4 highest point totals by runner ups in PL history, all finished 2nd to City.

Their 4peat is quite impressive. Almost on par with Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France winning run in the early 00s.
