I don't get the angst in here and the slagging of Ineos
The season happened, we finished 8th and won the FA Cup and ETH went on holiday

Why? The club hasn't indicated they are going to sack him, so the manager has a contract as it stands, no need to say anything, are Arsenal expected to clarify of Arteta is going to be there next season? Should the club comment on each individual player?
They have though and they cant get away with saying nothing. It's a PR shitstorm they created and have to do something about either way.
Kind of agree, but with the Euros on their way, it has been somewhat reduced to chip paper.
Arteta is the wrong example. He has been backed publicly and he, himself dismissed the Barcelona rumours when they popped up after Xavi himself announced that he is leaving at the end of the season, saying he is not leaving Arsenal.
On the other hand, there has been so many speculations about Ten Hag being sacked, after Crystal Palace, before the FA Cup, and from what we can tell, neither him, nor the Club have explicitly said that he is staying for next season. Sir Jim had so many opportunities to put this one to bed, however, he never once said anything in regards to him staying.
So yeah, a bit of clarity would go a long way with us, the fans, aa we've probably developed a mild PTSD from being kept in the dark by the Glazers, and INEOS starting to do the same, after the super positive start they had, seems like out of the ordinary.

Reputable journalists have reported we're going to sack him and have been approaching other managers, which has led to weeks of intense speculation from fans. The fans are divided on the subject and the debate left unfettered inevitably becomes toxic.
This isn't something you can just ignore and it will go away, a line should be drawn under it so fans can move on and get behind the manager (should he be staying).

There's been reams of stuff posted from him getting sacked day after FA Cup final win or lose to end of season reviews for and against, absolutely nothing so far has proven to be accurate hence I wonder if it's entirely media generated

A club will never publicly say that they are considering the manager's position. They will only say something when the manager is actually sacked.
But it's not the view of a warped media world that we had a very poor season, it is a fact, and it is common sense that our board would consider the manager's position after this. It has also been relatively reliably reported that they are doing a review which includes Ten Hag's position.

The journalists that have reported it are known not to have direct links to the club. Just important to flag that, because it's obvious their sources would be agents of potential candidates who have a vested interest in putting uncertainty out there.
He may well get sacked in the end, but it's worth noting that journalists are reputable in certain areas of their work. For example I wouldn't think Mitten will have good information on Chelseas business.
Somehow, I doubt that fans are expecting the club to give public backing. But it can be done via briefing to the regular club mouth pieces.

C'mon now. Everybody and their sister know ETH is under review. Even ETH acknowledged as much in his post FA win. This isn't a made up media conspiracy. UTD can easily kill this with a briefing to the media or a club statement. They choose not to, as they have not decided on whether to keep or fire him. No need to spin the delay on a decision on some alternate reality where ETH isn't under review. He's being reviewed. INEOS for some reason are taking their sweet time on it.

That’s not exactly true.
Lausanne were always a yo-yo team in Switzerland so not much has changed good or bad there though Ineos admit mistakes were made at first.
Mercedes F1 is a pure sponsorship/investor relationship. They have no involvement in the running of the team and tbh their involvement came at the natural end of a dominant cycle.
Nice they took over and finished 5th, 9th, 5th, 9th, 5th. Prior to that the finished 7th & 8th so they’ve done better and worse. Further back they finished 3rd, 4th and 11th so broadly in line with their recent history.
Team Sky/Ineos while not as successful as from 2010-2019 have still won some Grand Tours and finish top 2-3. They’ve also had to replace/transition away from great riders like Froome and they took over with all the Covid disruption.
The takeaway for me is that they haven’t really impacted significantly good or bad which is kind of disappointing.
In a vacuum though I think most of us are positive about the Berrada, Wilcox, Ashworth axis given their reputations and history. But 2 of the 3 haven’t started work yet.

Do you honestly think that's really the case? If that was the case, then why not go one better and tell everyone how much you believe in him and back him? Even discuss a new contract? Ten Hag said himself he doesn't know if he'll still be here, and there's been more articles saying he is still in the dark. Of course they would have nipped this in the bud a long time ago if they truly believed in him.

Waiting to see how the Euros go. If he wins, they hire him, if he loses they say the review concluded Ten Hag was the right man. Bulletproof plan. No one will be wiser - watch Tuchel or Poch announced next week
Tuchel has always been my top target of who is available and hope he gets appointed, liked what Pochettino did at Spurs but he hasn't looked solid in league since those back to back title challenges.
