De Light £42m amortised for 5 years and he’s ok €260k per week so he’d want £10m per year wages and then £8.25m to buy him that’s combined on book at £18.25-18.5m. Branthwaite would cost £160k per week or £8.3m annually wages and £60m over 5 years is £12m cost in instalments so in real terms Branthwaite doesn’t cost much more.

I'd go for Branthwaite out of those two, as he's a better fit for me tactically, as well as a better long-term financial investment...but de Ligt could also be a smart signing. A lot would depend on his salary demands, as he's on €307k per week at Bayern, which is £260k.

Hard pass on De Ligt, Juve and Bayern don't generally sell their best players, especially ones as young. The fact that Juve were happy to get rid after just a coupe of seasons, and now Bayern likewise, should tell you all you need to know.
If it's a loan then fair enough, but nothing more.

Agree. We should stay away.

I'd take a crack at De Ligt, still young about to enter his prime and has european experience. Even if he doesn't reach his highs you know you'll get someone solid and has experienced it all. I'd try offering 30M Euros plus 5-10M in add-ons and see if Bayern are open to it. I don't know about Juve, but it sounds like some Bayern fans are mad that they're trying to get rid of him so I don't think he's that bad. We need one CB who's actually in his prime or about to enter it. Youth is great but we need guys who are actually ready to win now

Licha is very much in that bracket.

He has already missed half a season with injuries, had 2 ligament injuries already, and as much as Bayern fans are gutted to lose him which is not a sign if someoneis a good player or not, he is not a good defender.

He commits to challenges too easily, gets dragged out of position quite often, and he has managed 50 games in two seasons with Bayern. He will cost a lot in terms of wages. If he wants to come to something like 150k a week and not ask for a guaranteed starting position, no problem.

And like a rule of thumb, Bayern does not sell you a good player if they can still use him on a high level. We should learn from Basti, Thiago Alcantara, Gravenberch etc.

If we get Yoro I might consider buying an Ineos shirt. I really think he's the best CB prospect in the world. He'll go to Madrid though.

That's the right level at which we should be bidding. This is not a special talent. Looks like your typical run of the mill brute. At least 3 of those pop up in the PL every year. Max we should go to is £40m and that's only because of age.
Nonsense and the stats prove it. It may take him a period of adjustment to a bigger club with bigger expectations but that’s a different debate over youth/potential versus finished players.

55 for Branthwaite is more than reasonable compromise. Anything above it, is simply over paying. I'll be annoyed if we actually get De Ligt, he's injury prone as feck and he's on insane wages.
Plus he’s as slow as Maguire and in my opinion not as good ?

Agree Brantwaire is by far the better deal he’s at least 2 yards quicker than De Ligt, he’s slower than Maguire or at best same level not for me?

I dont care about what he has done at Bayern and Juve. For a 24 year old with the talent level of De Ligt available for €50m, you'd be mad to not go in. Plus he's a RCB which is the core CB position hole we need to fill urgently. I say we do the deal.

If you dismiss what he’s done at Bayern and Juve, you are essentially basing your entire opinion of him on what he did in an Ajax side that made Van de Beek look a star.

I think Branthwaite has significantly more pace than de Ligt and Maguire.

You can keep telling yourself that in fact it's not been relentlessly negative for United for a long time, you'd be wrong though.

That's not the same as reacting to every story that comes out with a negative take. Yes it's been terrible for quite some time and I don't think anyone is denying that. However, there are reasons to be optimistic if you have a balanced view of things

He's still first choice when he's fit and he starts for the Netherlands so he must be doing something right. I'm taking the starting centre back for Bayern Munich and the Netherlands over most CBs. Especially one who perfectly slots in in a position of need. Branthwaite plays on the left for Everton and we have a starting CB there already.

We kind of need both De Ligt and Brantwaithe since we are so shott on cb’s. Martinez/De Ligt/Brantwaithe/Kambwala. Evans as backup and good dressing room influence.

De Ligt package may cost more than Brantwaithe. De Ligt needs to be assessed thoroughly, as he will be expensive so there should be no doubts about him.

Soooo when are we going to start selling players?
I think we are waiting for Juve to sell one of their wingers before they opt for Greenwood as per Di Marzio.
I'm surprised Saudi haven't sorted the Casemiro situation, there is a concrete interest there.

Ideally I want Wan Bissaka and Lindelof moved on too..

Maybe he doesn’t want to go there? All I’ve heard is the interest, not a word on what the player himself wants to do.

What he's done at Juve and Bayern like winning the league with both? Winning the Italian cup twice? Making Bundesliga team of the season just last year?

Doesn’t being shipped on by two top clubs tell you something? I’m not certain but can’t imagine he really cemented a starting place at either Bayern or Juve. If he’s not good enough for them then why would we go for him. Branthwaite might cost more but caries very little risk.

Has to have the option of signing him permanently in there otherwise there would be no point.

Well in our financial situation - a loan for a quality player, even w/o a signing option, makes sense

I have been frequently posting this but if we can get him on a loan + buy option (for let's say 60m, same price as Olise) that would be a no brainer. If he does well, we pay a price worth it, and at the same time we save money for other positions. His versatility makes him so precious as he can play CAM, LW and RW equally well.

This is where we tell him to wait until next summer and we will sign him then - or maybe that only works for Real Madrid :)

There's absolutely no reason for Casemiro to want to go.
Already on 300-350k a week isn't he? In a high profile league, 2 years of his deal left.
Why would he want to rush off to a park league now when he can do that in 2 years?
