Nobody's beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the league under Mourinho, or what is it, 3 seasons?

Even witht eh circumstances, it'd be damn nice to be the first. And then they came and beat us fairly convincingly at OT on the last day of the season too.

Put out as strong a team as possible, only exceptions should be for fatigue or an injury that might keep a key player out of contention for the Cup Final.

Oh and, what is it with so many of you going with Heinze at left back? Has Evra picked up an injury and i've jsut missed the news?

I think it would show a lack of respect on our part to do something like that. We're much classier than that
 
it's a tough one alright, that team selection. our starters clearly deserve a rest but then Chelsea will be applauding our reserves onto the field. don't our 1st stringers deserve that honour?

My guess would be that Kuzs will be in goal and that Eagles and Cathcart will play.
Kirean Lee and Dong will prolly also start on bench but play during game or on Sunday

Why rest players, worrying about the cup final is bollocks, go out and show the classless cnuts why we are the champions and fecking rinse them 3 or 4 nil. Play the strongest available starting line up.

Think about it. We can rest players and have them fresh for the FA cup, after all we already have the premiership wrapped up. So we can 'rinse' them in the FA cup final. It is much better than playing all our first team players on wednesday and heaven forbid they pick up an injury ruling them out of the cup final. We want to give ourselves as much chance as we can of winning the FA Cup and leave the russians with the carling cup. You can bet they will rest key players as well.

agreed 100%. what we need is the cup, if that means losing to chelski on wednesday, it`s worth it. at least we can trash them in the finals.

Agreed

I find what the press says is our plan for the last two games a bit puzzling, wer'e going to rest players agaisnt Chelsea and then put out a stronger side against West Ham which is nearer to the Cup Final. Saturday's if any game, is where i would rather see us put out a second choice XI for.

fergie has said that he has a duty to pick a strong team so as to not unfairly affect the relegation fight. it doesn't matter with the chelsea game because final standings will not be affected.

looking at all the team news on various sites, it seems the side could be something like:

Man Utd have been playing 2 games a week for a while now. Rest the starters for Chelsea. Then, having a full week off from playing let them run out against the Hammers. that way they'll have almost a full week again to rest up prior to the FA cup. easy!

I think that's too much. As it is, imo anyway, they're knackered from playing too many games. that's why they need a full week but not anymore so they don't lose their edge.

So Chelsea have no Drogba, Shevchanko, Ballack, Robben and Carvalho.

Good chance to ruin their Stamford Bridge record with a decent side selection.

I thought i heard that Drogba would be back for this game, but thinking about Mourinho is probably resting him. I think this game will be a huge anticlimax and a 0-0 bore draw
 
why Boulahrouz can play? he received a red card vs Arses and that is 2 or 3 games ban... someone explain?
 
No way should Ronaldo play with the little knocks he's gotten the last 2-4 matches. Give the lad a rest, he just got kicked in the stomach a few days ago and gashed in th knee.

If Rooney plays, Mourinho will have told his side to try their best and get him sent off with a red, or a minor injury so as not to play in the FA Cup final. Don't believe that Mourinho wouldn't do that. The man has no class.

Rio needs rest also. Groin injuries are often fatigue related. He's too important for the FA Cup.

Vidic might need the match to get back to full strength.

O'Shea and Brown and Heinze should play - no doubts there.

Scholes and Giggs need a rest, which means Carrick has to play.

Up front if Saha is healthy at all, he needs to play. As frustrating as his injury-proneness is, a match fit Saha would be great in FA Cup.

Alongside Saha, Smith could use some more playing time.

Therefore,

With Dong, Ole, Lee, Evra, maybe Gary, VDS on bench. Possibly, we could put Richardson in the middle and Ole could play wide, if we want to rest Carrick.
