Community Shield
Wembley - Sunday 5 August 2007 (1500 BST)

2-1. Utd storm 2-0 ahead through a magnificent Rooney double, before Shevchenko scores a tap in from a Lampard deflected shot that was poorly saved by VDS.

Look at the history, we do not want to win this game

Utd never bother with this pointless pre-season friendly so I wont be surprised if we lose it as Mourinho will try his hardest to beat us.

The only problem we will have is the media taking advantage saying Chelsea have the edge over us in the coming season.

3-0 Wes Brown hatrick.

Our record has been poor against the renties as of late and that FA cup defeat must still be in the player's heads, it's about time we gave the mercenaries a drubbing.

You've already concluded we'll lose then?

either we'll win by a one goal margin or chelsea will win courtesy of a deflected goal. id prefer the win.

a good result would be for either cech or terry to get injured. or drogba.

is everyone bar scholes fit for the game?!

i read that gary nevilles back aswell?!

hows simpson been in pre season?!

I hate that with all our new signings we stil look likely to start with O'Shea in midfield!

Play Fletch!

Should be a decent game hopefully bearing in mind its technically a friendly.

United miss new faces in Shield

Although Sir Alex Ferguson has signed three new players, Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson, with another to come in Carlos Tevez at some point early next week, none is likely to be in the Premier League champions' starting line-up.

Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs are expected to spearhead United's attack as they look for revenge after losing the FA Cup final to Jose Mourinho's men at the same venue in May.

Man Utd (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Brown, Bardsley, Pique, Simpson, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Silvestre, Evra, Ronaldo, Fletcher, O'Shea, Carrick, Eagles, Giggs, Rooney.

That's a disappointment. Basically we'll put out the same side that was toothless about them in the Cup.

And i've kind of lost faith in Giggs' to trouble defences like Chelsea anymore. I think he's got a good flick here and there left in him, but other than that, physically he will get outmuscled and outpaced by Chelsea.

I'm sure 100% that the line-up will be:

-------------------------------VDS-------------------------------
Brown--------------Rio---------------------Vida--------------Evra
Ronaldo------------Carrick---------------Fletch------------Eagles
---------------Rooney-------------------Giggs.-------------------

I agree, I'm not too sure about Eagles though. I would like to see Nani play his part but it's unlikely.

He may even play O'shea at left back and push Evra forward to left midfield.
