Manchester United vs. Coventry City [Carling Cup]

The media. ABUs. Watch as this forum now fills up with "guests" too.

Welcome gloating guests. Everyone wave. Their middle fingers.

The scouse twats will think this is a measure of how the season will pan out.

Anderson and Nani should have taken them apart like Torres did to Reading

Totally agree. The fans that turned out tonight deserved better. Think of all the poor sods that are season ticket holders that were forced to pay for this shambles tonight!!

thats the only point i agree with, the fans that have paid there hard earned cash to see a reserve match, im glad were going out

feckin embarrassing.

I wasn't aware that Chelsea or Liverpool had a completely 2nd string/reserve side out in their games?

Coventry City win 2-0 at Old Trafford.

You can send players on loan to Championship sides even before January I think. So we should do that straight away with Martin and Bardsley. It's better for them, better for us.

With Silvestre injured and Heinze gone, Pique, Simpson and Evans will get some real PT during the season so I think things will work out OK for them even without the CC.

Well played our youth losing to a championship side.

United haven't won a game without me watching it for years!

- Exeter
- Southend
- Burton
- Coventry

:wenger:

This is getting silly. They need me too much. Dependent.

ah well just have to forget the World Club Carling Coca Cola Torres Rumbulows Gerrard Wengerfile massive massive massive like citehs floodlights Super duper bumper Champions of the entire Universe Golden Hubcap League cup

and merely concentrate on being champions of england again

shame that

Is Alan Green doing 606? He must have his cock out big time.

Can someone call up 606 and tell him that he is a fat bitter cnut?

Like many have said, I hate to lose, but it was only the CC and now we don't have to worry as much about injuries or too many games this season compared with our rivals. Still, it always hurts. And it won't do the confidence of our younger players much good. Oh well, it's still better to be a United supporter than a fan of anyone else. We'll spank the Brummies.

Experience against what? The best experience they can get is by being placed into an almost full team. They play in the reserves in any case.

Hell this is a far bigger match than any reserves game. How many times do they get to play in front of 70000 people? We have a big squad and most of these players won't get to start a single league game.

You are also being arrogant towards the competition and treating it like trash by using it as nothing more than a training ground. It's bad form.

By that same logic you're being arrogant in saying this cup means nothing to a team like United. I'm not worried that we've been knocked out, just disappointed in how the youngsters have failed to make use of a good opportunity they were given.

If you want a discussion about the league cup I will gladly give you one in another thread. It's part and parcel of the problem with the structure of English football in general. You wouldn't really care about that however would you?

I have no idea what you mean by that, and you're right, I don't really care.

If he isnt on tonight he will make copious references to it when he commentates on United or Liverpool matches next

Regardless of whether Fergie values the competition or not, I think he owes it to the 70,000+ fans who paid their money to put out at least a half-decent team.

he thought of the season ticket holders who have paid good money I'm sure....:)

as Weaste said I think the only way any of these fringe/youth players will get better is playing with experienced first team players in important matches....

there obviously is a gap between our youth/fringe players but the problem is because most of them have been pushed up at the same time....it would be silly to write them off....some wont make it of course....but I'm far from writing off Simpson,Pique,Evans and Martin....
eagles looked OK when in the first team...faded of course...as for Anderson...he obviously needs regular football...and in the first team...I would bring him on often as possible into the first team.....he'll be the business no worries....

finally even if the first team is not involved the CC is a distraction....

my point is that its a competition designed for lesser teams..... to be honest id put the charity shield down as a more worthwhile cup to win....

arse, pool and chelski will still be floundering around playing whomever in their squad while we can get to rest players..... is that clear enough for you or will i draw you a diagram?

May have slipped your notice but we were resting our key players anyway and so were the renties, arse and dippers...So what's your point. And any diagrams would be helpful.

FT, season over

It's nothing to do with "season over", even if meant sarcastically. I just heard the match on radio - it's simply embarrassing. We should know that the kids are no good. It's more a reflection on English kids being useless than just United's kids.

Arsenal, for example, have numerous FOREIGN kids and they would have steamrollered Coventry had they been playing at the Emirates.

United just seem like a club that have a youth academy because they are obliged to. Most of them will simply disappear into League oblivion.

Just embarrassing...the youth scouts have much to answer for.

Our record says something else.
And our scouts found Ronaldo, Evra, Vidic, Anderson, Nani just lately

And I'm proud that United have still a british core and dont play XI foreigners, despite me not british at all
