Manchester United Vs The Wiggers

I think Eagles will get the go ahead over Evans though. Damn what a bench we'll have when Hargreaves, Carrick, Park and Fletcher is back.

I think the same, some people just dont rate Park on here and thats a shame giving his experience and never ending fight spirit.

Park and Nani are awesome subs for Giggs and Ronaldo

Woke up with a very good feeling about this. Come on you Reds!

It's because that's all people ever talk about. It is not just that which makes him good, his a very smart footballer as well. Sometimes he even tricks himself when he has the ball.

But I rate Park very highly. Even got 5 goals last season after being out with injuries for most of the season.

Even I rate Park but not as highly as you do.Shame he is injured. He was certainly better than anything Nani has done so far with us.

I also would love to see both, tevez and saha start.
Let roon fight for his place!

Ya i hope Tevez and roooney are fighting for the second striker place... Saha needs starts under his belt....

The Times reckon Simpson will start with O'Shea in midfield. Possible, I suppose.

Why? Seems quite plausible, though it's very hard to predict Fergie's line-ups correctly.

Who do you think will play right-back and centre-midfield, then?

Very unlikely to see Fergie rest Scholes in favour of either Simpson or Oshea when he's already without both Carrick and Hargreaves

Ok, assuming Brown is injured, you think O'Shea will play RB and Pique or Giggs alongside Scholes in CM. Bet you're wrong.

Simpson seems more likely.

Er, no, the point is that Brown is injured, so O'Shea might well play alongside Scholes in midfield, meaning there's a free slot at right-back.

There's absolutely no point in resting Scholes today with a two weeks break coming up.

I think Giggs will start alongside him if Brown's not fit. I hope Anderson will be given a chance though.

PIG
O'Shea (Brown)-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra
Ronaldo-Scholes-Anderson (O'Shea)-Nani
Rooney-Tevez/Saha

I doubt Fergis would go for Scholes and Anderson or Giggs in central midfield. Possible, but I doubt it.

could well be the case, but knowing Fergie, I think he'd rather stick with Giggs in the centre with Oshea at RB than give a youngster his debut in such circumstances.

I think its the way you worded it. "Simpson will start with O'Shea in midfield".

Ah, fair enough.

I would have thought it was fecking obvious that I didn't mean that Fergie would play Simpson, a right-back, in midfield, though.

It was obvious, but on here people dont usually pick up things too quick.

Knowing Fergie, have you ever known him to pick Scholes and Giggs as the central midfield pairing, despite all their years at the club?

I haven't.

By whom? I cant find anything from Fergie on this.

How about the official page?

Brown remains a doubt

A knee injury could keep Wes Brown out of United's Barclays Premier League clash with Wigan on Saturday.

The defender picked up the knock in the 1-0 win at Birmingham last Saturday and was subsequently ruled out of the Reds' Champions League victory over Roma on Tuesday.

He is still struggling with the injury and remains a doubt for Wigan's lunchtime visit to Old Trafford.

"Wes is a bit doubtful," revealed Sir Alex Ferguson at his pre-match press briefing. "I'm going to see how he is after training on Friday. But we've got cover in that area."

John O'Shea is likely to step into the right back slot, as he did against Roma. Meanwhile, Sir Alex says he has a choice to make between Ryan Giggs and Anderson as to who replaces the injured Michael Carrick in central midfield.

"Without Michael Carrick, Owen Hargreaves and Darren Fletcher, we have a job to do in terms of picking another centre midfield player," said the boss. "We've got Anderson and Giggs, and I think one of them could supply the answer to that."

I haven't.

Giggs played quite well in the centre with Oshea two seasons ago when we closed the gap to Chelski to 8 points, and given giggs' massive experience I would think Fergie would consider it a safe option than to 'risk' by giving Simpson a start.

It's highly unlikely Anderson will start alongside Scholes, yes, but I'll love to see it.

I think it will be Giggs and Scholes if Brown's not ready. I think Scholes can do good job in the Carrick role against a team that we'll (hopefully) dominate for 90 minutes.

Maybe. Different playing alongside a wholly defensive player in O'Shea to playing alongside Scholes.

The interview lao posted makes it sound like he will pick Giggs or Anderson, though.

But I still bet he doesn't. It could depend on Brown, though, yes.
