Arsenal vs Manchester United

Classic biased post on the FoxSports website.

One of the distinct attributes of a "hater" is denial of the obvious.
The Obvious:
1. Gunners have shown the most consistent form of any PL side.
2. Gunners have displayed the most resilient form of any PL side.
3. Youthfulness serves the Gunners well during the latter stages of a fixture and will serve them well during the latter stages of the season as teams start to tire and the season takes its toll.
4. Gunners should have beaten Liverpool 3-1 based on their open goal misses. This would have given the Gunners the max points and maintained the 2 pt lead in the standings
5. With equally talented strikers, the Gunners back line is stronger than MU's back line. This will lead to more chances on goal for the Gunners on Saturday.

My response:
1- Surely the consistent form has nothing to do with the weak schedule to date, the Liverpool match showing that it's not always easy to beat a top side with the class to defend and thwart opposing attacks.
2- see above
3- United have youth in key areas too, or does the media/ABU forget about Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Nani, Evra, Anderson, etc.?
4- Coulda shoulda woulda; if your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle
5- United's back four is superior. It's clearly one of the best in Europe and that's with the best RB in football (Neville) missing. I could point out which back four has the fewest goals shipped this season as further evidence.

How in hell are the first 3 anywhere near a biased comment?

They're true, and only a fool would suggest otherwise. I also don't see how they're derogitory towards United, in fact I don't see the relevence of any response from any fans, let alone United fans.

We have been the most consistent, and we have the youngest squad doing the rounds. Actually come to think of it I think point 2 is probably bollox, at the least it's very debateable. Your lot has had some bad injuries, West Ham have been decimated, yet still putting in a strong showing for themselves. And Chelsea've come up trumps though that 'crisis.' I'd say those three have been the most resilient.

Where they directed AGAINST United fans, as in: We are better because of this, this and this?

and on points 4 and 5... Well let us not go there.

had to laugh at this photo

I think we should bag this one, going to be fecking tight and tense though, we need hargreaves to shackle fabregas

Fergie said Evra, Carrick, Hargreaves, Saha fit. Neville not in the squad.

My team for tommorow:

------------------------- VDS -----------------------
Brown ----- Ferdinand ------------ Vidic --------- Evra
-------------------------- Hargreaves ----------------
Ronaldo ----- Anderson ---------------------- Giggs --
-------------- Rooney ------------ Tevez ------------

Bench: Kuszczak, O`Shea, Carrick, Nani, Saha

Big match away from home. SAF will probably play Giggs centrally and Tevez/Rooney wide in a 5 man midfield.

Oh please...... Keown jumping up and down like some baboon after RVN missed a penalty?!?!?

My advice to you.... just keep clutching at those few, meagre straws of yours, least I mention the countless times MUFC have got stuck in and the Dirty Arse have wilted quicker than a virgin in a porno movie....

P Neville kicks Viera all over the park and Reyes gets the shit kicked out of him and goes crying home to mummy...... one of MANY fun times and long may it continue.....

;)

The thing is P Neville didn't really kick, Vieira, but he bossed him all the same. Reyes got fouled a few times. But hes a moaning cnut. Arsenal players did their share of fouling, but they couldn't take it and their bitching in the media was pathetic.

The Man Utd myths. P Neville did well in that game because you put 3 v 2 in CM. The treatment of Reyes was actually reminiscent of the old Leeds, clearly calculated in advance and the fouls spread across a number of players to avoid a booking.

 Total and utter complete bollocks!

Summer signings can surprise Arsenal with United's new style of football including fast attacking midfielder, plus tough defensive midfielder.

Great to have Saha & Carrick back. Returning Evra will make our wings even more dangerous... let's be optimistic.

Fergie had whole week for preparations, so he knows on 100% who should start on saturday.

Reyes is a pussy, a 90 year old granny would have complained less than him. Too much bitching from Arsenal players. Arsenal under Wenger have been the worst losers and biggest moaners. I wonder how Reyes would have coped with really hard men.

I think a point would be a good result for us. Arsenal are playing well right now.

why would it?? we are playing unbelievable football at the moment and i should think the players and SAF are going there to win and why shouldnt they? sure arsenal are playing well but they havent realy been tested yet, liverpool didnt put up much of a fight at anfield last week as they were just playing 1 dimensional football in hoofing the ball upfield every time they had possesion, if arsenal had to come to old trafford last week and played like they did they would have been beat by at least 2 goals.

3-1 tomorrow, tevez, rooney, vidic.

Enjoy the match, everyone, and I hope it lives up to the hype surrounding it. While I'd like to see Arsenal prevail 2-1 (Cesc and Rosicky--Tevez), I'll be spending the entire day in airports as I sojourn from Fresno to Newburgh, New York via Las Vegas and Atlanta. I obviously picked the wrong day to travel.

I cannot wait. Not been this excited about a game for a long time.

You could always check that with Rooney. Irrespective of his bleating the fact remains that it was a sordid tactic by Man Utd.

I think we are the underdogs going into this game, everyone thinks Arsenal are unstoppable at the moment. Most predictions from pundits have either gone for an Arsenal win or a draw.

I wonder if the media will have a wankfest over United come Monday, if we win tomorrow.

The wankfest over Arsenal if they win will drive me close to the edge...I'd still back us to win the league, even if we lost. Which i don't think we will.

Me too, its already pissing me off since that night they won 7-0  the media take it a step too far whenever a London club are doing well.

best football, stadium....best this, best that :wenger:

Lets hope its half as good as expected

Should be a belter.

With the creative talent on show it's hard to believe there won't be goals in it.

Probably be a defensive 0-0 !

For me its about keeping Rooney quiet, almost impossible but if we can I think we'll win

If we can't ...................oh fvck :(

C'mon the Arsenal

All the hype surrounding this game is media bollox. Just as important as any other game at this early stage of the season.
I reckon a point in a tough away fixture would be a good result.

VDS
Brown Vida Ferdinand Evra
Ronaldo Anderson Hargreaves Giggs
Tevez
Rooney

With -

Carrick on for Anderson after 60 minutes
Saha on towards the end.
We can win this

arent arse still unbeaten at the emirates? be nice to end that one like we did there last great run

West Ham ended it last year. 1-0 with a Zimora chip goal from far out I believe. Arse dominated the whole game besides that but somehow West Ham won.

So are most people here expecting that Sir Alex will stick with Anderson to start this? I'm not so sure if he will or not.

I have to like your view except I will add Nani against Giggs after 70-75 min. The key factor in this game will be who can control the passing game. Maybe a man to man battle between Fabregas vs. Anderson

I think Arsenal will control the passing game more, since they have home advantage. But whether they can stop Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo is another matter. I think we can at least get a draw.
