Bolton Wanderers vs. Manchester United

oh yeah ofcorse, listen you moron without carrick we wouldnt have won the premiership last year. he is one of the best of the game in terms of passing, and most importantly he is a manchester united player so stop calling him a cnut.

cnut

Apparently SAF was arguing with the ref at halftime and so was sent off.

Carick played a huge part in us winning the League last year.

No he didnt play that big a part. Everyone else in the first team actually had a better season than him. The poor performances of Carrick, Giggs today would not have been highlighted if Tevez had scored or the defense hadnt made a mistake.

Its like saying Ferriera played a big part when Chelsea won the league or Diarra was brilliant for Real Madrid last season. Just because they are part of the first team in a title winning season doesnt mean they were great. Every team carries a player or two when titles are won. Which first team player had a worser season than Carrick last time ?

Commentators on Setanta said SAF didn't show Bolton enough respect with our team selection but I disagree; that team should have been able to do the job if they had played better.

yeah I agree, that team should have turned Bolton over no problem whatsoever, that's just cnuts looking for any dig they can get against us.

Its quite obvious carrick had a bad game today. He should have been taken out after 60 min, we could have played fletcher, atleast he would have given our team chance to fight. look at anderson he was figting out there. Carrick never tried to win anything, he was just ball watching. I am not saying that he is a bad player, but he is capable of playing much better, sub him off would have waken him up for the rest of the season.

despite what we're saying, we all know we'll bounce back from this, we always do. i'm not worried about united, i'm just worried that arsenal will be consistently winning and not dropping points, at least not more than united.

I have nothing against being pesimistic and criticising, but I hate it when Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime on the matchday thread keep calling United players and SAF cnuts. They should be banned

Got to admit Bolton played well, and Anekla played out of his skin. Once they went a goal in front it was always going to be hard for Hargreaves and Carrick as Bolton flooded the midfield. This is just a blip for United and we'll recover from this.

Carrick needs to play more games, he had a bad game today. Give Carrick-Anderson a chance on tuesday and rest Owen because of his injuries.

i disagree. our central midfield had a fluidity and continuity in its passing than before he arrived; it was even better than when we put together those great results at the tail end of 2005-2006 season, with Giggs and O'Shea central.

i don't know why people underrate Carrick so. today, for instance, Hargreaves was far worse, and yet no one says anything. i just don't think a Carrick-Hargreaves combination suits either player. Carrick doesn't like to run with the ball, and would rather sit back and spray passes; Hargreaves tends to run with it, but did so rather stupidly today; they need a Scholes or Anderson, who can both carry it forward purposefully and pass as well.

I didnt mean that Carrick made no positive contribution last season but he wasnt as vital as people think. Which first team player was less influential or had a worser season than him ? Carrick played the least significant part in out title win.

I cant comment on the game today. Missed it and was dependent on the updates here.

Also we seem to give life to the dead guys. Last year it was West Ham and this year it seems to be Bolton.

When we signed Tevez in August, I made the point of saying I wish we'd signed an out and out goalscorer who could convert 1 chance in a scrappy game.

Its all good and well scoring 4 past sh*t teams and purring over players, but today was test of what players are made of. As we saw Tevez missed an open goal from 2 yrds, and Saha looked like he was just pleased to have his kit on. Needless to say 9pts looks like alot, especially when Aresnal are dismissing the other 17 teams like nobody's business.

:smirk:

Carrick wasn't as bad as Hargreaves today. Harry just kept running and running and running nowhere. at least Carrick was more constructive with his passes.

i just don't think the both of them should play together. it isolates the front four too much.

carrick was worse than hargreaves. constructive? what did he construct?

It was painful to see us losing against such a poor team like Bolton. it was exactly same situation what happened against Portsmouth at Frankon Park but at least we've drawn that game.

I doubt Tevez's finishing, we need a finisher like Anelka if we want to defend our title this season.

Anderson was stunning, he helped us to attack more and his passes were sensational; the damage has been done in the first half which we were poor in terms of attacking and defending.

We played well in the second half but what can you do when 8 players are defending in the box. :(

Always when we lose a game we start winning 8 or 9 games in a row so I hope this time we do this run. :)

Has anyone got a video of the Tevez miss as I was unable to watch the match ?
