Liverpool vs Manchester United

Team should be....

GK: VDS

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Cristiano
CM: Hargreaves
CM: Anderson
LM: Giggs

CF: Tevez
CF: Rooney

I'd expect to see this starting line-up, with Nani, Saha and Carrick on the bench - a strong set of subs.

Without Agger, Liverpool have a serious lack of pace all across their back 4, and may have to play quite cautiously as a result, with Mascherano protecting their defence. Otherwise they could get torn apart by the pace of our front 6.

I almost sort of wish that the Argentine left-back who used to wear Number 4for us had actually signed for them now, just to see his face when we hammer them Sunday

To be honest, i don't mind that Sheasy's out. I always feel better as at least i don't see Fergie having some tinker rage and starting him. In midfield at that.

Anyway, my team would be:

VDS

Brown
Rio
Vidic
Evra

Ronaldo
Hargreaves
Anderson
Giggs

Rooney
Saha

Saha has looked sharp lately, reckon he'll be a big threat for us and would give Liverpool a different type of challenge if he plays.

No Tevez?
Ban this cnut!

how much tinkering do you think we'll be seeing from Rafa? any unexpected players in unexpected positions to throw us off? Cos' our lineups are pretty stable, week in, week out.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal have drew at Anfield so far and I reckon we'll do the same :( 0-0

agree with the team......it picks itself at the moment.

i cant see us getting beat.........and to be honest i think everything points to a united win

I'm going for 1-3 away win, theres being a late consolation from a Crouchino (sub) knock down.

Should the rafa revolutionary rotation system not actually feck up their chances before kick off im predicting an ineffective Torres, marshalled out of the game by Vidic and Rio.

I think Brown will go in hard on Kewell early on (brwnd) to give him a little reminder that hes not to be fecked with and do away with any form that Kewell might have been picking up.

I'd imagine if fit Hargreaves will start alongside Anderson.

With most of our team coming back in fresh i'd think we will be far to strong going forward and they will probably compensate with an overly defensive midfield and as a result going long ball late in the second half, ala crouch.

VDS, Brwn, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo, Hargreaves, Anderson, Giggs, Tevez, Rooney

PIG, Pique, Carrick, Nani, Sahahaha

Can I just call you "cock sucker"?
Maybe, but that's only if Dong gets his hattrick.

But seriously, the last post was a joke, I think we can win this. Or at least get a draw. We're good enough. Could get both ways, this.

Last time we won against them, I called all I know who supports Liverpool. They still hate me.

We win this and it'll be a massive confidence boost and psychological victory in our league defence. If the Arse lose as well, this could well be THAT point in the season where everything starts to fall into place

I cant remember the last time i was so confident going into a match against the scousers. I think we'll win by two clear goals. They had to field their strongest team during the week whereas we put out our reserves!! We will walk this!!

Excited and Nervous (not because I'm afraid bt its just a massive gme) and no matter how confident we can be due to recent form (exc. Bolton of course) it will still be an edge of ya seat game .. from beginning to end. Gerrard and Torres are both on form fr LIverpool at the moment, as has righfully been pointed out Kewell is also hitting form . Fortunately for us Ronaldo and Tevez at the moment are just outstanding their movement, passes, goals etc.. Just hope that the rest has helped Tevez as he has been so close to many more goals in the last few games that he could not quite put away.. I know he has put in his fare share, but we won't ger as many chances on Sunday as weh vae in other games and there have been a good number of chances missed over the past few weeks. Its time to be getting much more of our shots on target. Don't get me wrong I think we are playing great creating lots of chances but not quite taking as many as we should. I didn't get to watch thte game last night does anyone know if Rooney was looking sharper or not.. I know he is gettng there just wish one of his post shots from the last game had gone in .. regardless to all that

I'd love to see a good few goals adds o the game would hope for us to win
2-1 Ronaldo, Rooney / Tevez - Torres / Gerrard

Although would take the 1-0 win and keep the clean sheet too!

I heard RVP was back last night did anyone see how well he played and does anyone know the progress of Fabregas?

Can't wait for this game. As already said, the team picks itself. We'll also have a strong bench for the first time in years!

The Scousers are gonig to see how good Anderson is on Sunday. Watch him take the piss all over Gerrard. If we can take control of the midfield, we'll have a great chance. Need to be careful of Torres though.

As long as Scholesy is out, Anderson must start. At least if we play two central midfielders. And here is why!
Anderson is an attacking midfielder and playmaker, although he likes to put in the odd tackle. He uses enormous amounts of energy, and does it well as his efforts are rarely wasted.
Hargreaves' role is pretty obvious. Win the ball and move it around to the nearest team mate. Because of his role he tends to lie rather deep.
Carrick is a deep lying playmaker, as Liverpool might get cocky and try to create some kind of pressure, there is the risk that our playmaker will lie behind Hargreaves.
However, neither Hargreaves or Anderson has played in a Pool vs. United derby, how important this is I don't know. Rio will certainly be on the backs of those who fail to impress.

I'm done now!

it isn't a derby.

Heres the team for me to start and its the same as most on here and barring injuries this should be four in a row for me.

vds

brown ferdinand vidic evra

ronaldo anderson hargreaves giggs

tevez rooney

2-1 to us maybey, feck knows could go either way.

If we play a 442 they'll heap a lot of pressure on us and we'll need our wingers to be on top form to counter, but with a 451/433 we should be able to control the game, the most important thing will be to not lose this match. So i'm hoping for a 3 Man midfield of Hargreaves-Carrick-Anderson.

If we can keep Torres out of the match we should be fine. Gerrard didn't seem on top of his game in the champions league match. Torres was their best player by far in my opinion.

0-3

carlitos,vida and rooney to score

rio to keep torres in his pocket

gerrard has scored ten goals in his last eleven games and been absolutely unplayable in most games. hopefully he'll continue it on sunday.

Marseille's defence lacked mobility and torres exoploited that. we dont have that problem, torres is a bit lightweight for me.think it may be vidic's job to keep him quiet.

At least there's one sensible analyst on here ! Two, including me ;)
Sadly it's not the team Fergie will pick. Carrick or Hargreaves will make way for Giggs. He's the skipper after all.

If Kewell plays well, pool play well. I hope brown concentrates completely on defending and don't try to go forward.
