Awsome game. Some really good performances. Anderson has proved yet again that he deserves to be part of the first team and Tevez/Rooney have both been working extremely hard.
Refs made some dodgy decisions, wtf was Evras card for and he lets Gerrard off with a 2 footer on Anderson. Still enjoyable game, more goals in this game though

Lawro should come off it....don't think there were any decisions so far which were absolutely wrong....
Ref's had a decent game, so far, no bias to either team...but to lawro, the ref has to give all decisions to the pool before he's considered fair...

OK so to half time, points to be made:
1. Hargreaves and Anderson having their best games for us so far. Hargreaves has been a rock in front of the back four (lol at pwning Torres)
2. Evra, and Brown to a lesser extent, have both been threats down their respective wings.
3. VDS has been EXTREMELY shaky. Only great defending from Ferdinand and Vidic (and Anderson) have stopped us from conceding (because VDS certainly hasn't). With that said the Gerard FK wasn't his fault - when Vidic hits you, you go down.
4. They've had more shots. We have to get that out of the way. But in terms of battles over the park, I'd say we're ahead marginally. Our midfield > theirs for that half.
5. Rooney and Giggs, and Ronaldo to a lesser extent, are yet to really get into the game. Second half though...

tell me this Anderson has been great...he's been bulldozed by gerrard a few times...and Gerrard thought he could psych out the game by getting him yellow carded...but Anderson stood his ground and has kept his head in the game...it shows how much of a dirty player Gerrard is

oh its not a criticism...pretty much what i expected with Liverpool being at home and wanting to prove that they are in the title race...they'd come at us 100 miles per hour (or as Rafa says "with much passion") but ultimately a bit of quality would shine through..which it has, clever corner from Giggs with everyone watching Vidic, Rio and Ronaldo

anderson has been pure class so far....i think the anderson hargo combo is the best we got in the middle, thats until scholesy comes back, then there'll be a real competition for that second spot.

By our standards we have been below par in the first half. Our defending, passing and espescially attacking play has been woeful. However we were lucky to score our goal.
Second half we gotta play without fear and start moving the ball around like we know we can. Giggs, Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney need to start creating chances galore. As for the defending, no more mistakes please.

its not his fault has giggs seen much of the ball dont think so has he been brillant with it no...giggs and ronaldo have been shadowed out the game forcing us to play through the middle.
Please stop saying Ronaldo has been invisible, do you expect him to beat the whole team. Brown has looked nervy down the right and Ronaldo has not had alot of the ball, whenever hes had it hes done ok, although shouldnt try to beat his man in our half...if Ronaldo was playing on the left where we look great, hed be playing better.

Hargreaves is MOM for me in the first half. He has broken up almost everything when the dippers come forward. He has been immense. Ronaldo needs to get involved in the second half i think, he has been a bit quiet. Also he needs to stop fecking about in our half. Just clear it if needs be.
But all in all an good performance from us. Had some good pressure without the final ball but that will come. Just got to keep the ball on the ground a little bit more.

Take away VDS attempts at being David James, they've done little to trouble us. To be fair we've hardly bothered them either. However, Anderson and Hargreaves have been outstanding.
Though we've had more players booked, the ref has actually had a good game, and like I said either yesterday or Friday, he's trying to give everyone some scope and let the challenges go that he can, as this is a derby game after all.
