Rooney..

If it wasn't for Given, It couldv'e very well been the biggest scoreline in Premiership history.

31 shots on goal today, Newcastle should count there lucky stars we only scored 6.

I'm not gonna give all the credits to Given. I've never seen that many goal-line clearances in a game in my whole life. But all in all, Newcastle defence is still the worst that we had to encounter so far in Premiership, worse than Derby

I agree, Given kept them from getting played off the pitch, it was a marvelous performance by United though, something no team stops, just ask Roma

whilst ronaldo continues to develop - and improve his game with end-product and has become clinical with his shooting- rooney still has not improved on his suspect control & poor composure and finishing. THIS is not just a one off problem but seen in most games when he gets chances.

God help you with the backlash you have just unleashed upon yourself!

:wenger:Rooney has improved his passing abilities and reading the game. Even yesterday, when he was having a poor game, he was the focal point of most of our attacks.

A quote from RAWK
he links midfield to attack...a bit like Kuyt try to do (but fail miserably)...Rooney is one of the reason they play fluent smooth football and we play like West Brom
And some muppets here feel that he hasn't progressed and peaked already.

Rooney was over anxious in front of goal and a little selfish in the first half. But Ronny had a shit first half as well. IN the second half, Rooney was more of a playmaker and we scored 6 goals. Given robbed Rooney of at least 2. And remember his pass to Rio? Magic. Don't worry about Wayne, he will get a hattric next game and then there will be threads - "Rooney:better than Kaka"
Maradona was quoted saying that.

abolute shite

Dippersrippper

you really are deluded. First you cite RAWK - as if those fans are a authority on a good player?!

Second they compare Kuyt to Rooney. IS that supposed to make rooney look 'good'.

well done on this compelling evidence

Read it properly bellend. They said Rooney is very good at linking up with midfielders which Kuyt is shit at. Oh, and Kanoute > Rooney.

YES - i hear what you say - Whilst rooney is good in linking play (obviously y'day he was rubbish!) Kanoute ALSO excels in linking well with his midfield. Kanoute is a better finisher and has a good left foot unlike rooney. He also can take pens expertly for Sevilla and not the joke 'Michael Owen' pens rooney has taken for MU!

Rooney brings to the table more than goals and assists. His team work is actually the best part of his game. Did you see him shield the keeper on Tevez' first goal? That was fecking brilliant. He is also very unselfish for a striker. And how about his tracking back? He helped out in the midfield against Liverpool and bossed them. He is the best team player in the game, hands feckin down.

Rooney had a good performance despite not being able to score. I think he should've done better with his first chance, where he blazed it over the bar.
His second attempt was actually a very good volley, and a good stop by Given. It's a difficult skill to master, so I think Rooney did well in spite of not scoring.
There was the time he tried to do a Cantona chip, but it ended up looking more like an overhit cross.
The acrobatic volley that Taylor cleared off the line wasn't an easy chance for him. He did well right before that to control Giggs long pass, and then to lay it off for Tevez to make the initial attempt.
Given made another good save off him, although Rooney probably placed his shot too close to the keeper.

But despite the missed chances, he played an important role for us in attack. He was involved in our third goal, even if was just a simple pass to Tevez. He played a perfectly weighted pass for Simpson through the middle, and if Simpson had tried to play it round the keeper he might've scored. The chip for Rio's goal was brilliant. Overall, he did well and was unlucky not to score.

Rooney was poor today.

Madness.

One of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on here.

Something I would expect my wife or Mum to say, if they had seen the game, based on the chances he didn't put away.

Based on this alone, it is obvious that unless a player scores or do some eye-pleasing tricks, you can't grasp how well a player plays.

Rooney played very well on Saturday. His movement was superb, pulling the defenders all over the picth, linked the midfield and the attack superbly, was involved in some of our best moves of the game. In the first half, Carrick and Rooney ere our best players. In the second half, everyone played well.

You have always been an idiot.

Both players have developed - just that Ronaldo have developed more.

Rooney was poor today. Not just the chances, but he was struggling to control it (the ball) quite often too.

I disagree, I thought he was excellent and deserved a goal. Won't be long before he starts bangin them in again

read my original post - the issue is rooney is not clinical in his chance-taking. This is seen time and time and it will cost us against a side one day.

This is the issue here nothing else so stick on topic.

Just feck off and die

its extremely amazing that a player can be considered off form like this. even when roon is "off" he's still feckin great. feckin class player

Tevez laughed at him one time I think.

Yeah he was laughing with him cos it was just unbelievable that the ball wouldn't go in for him.. it was a kind of chin up keep trying moment.. loved it

he was good today just a lil unlucky.
was trying too hard to score (e.g header)..the ones on target was v. unlucky as there were great saves clearances off the line... just not his day

if Simpson had scored, it would've been a brilliant assist from Rooney...
Spot on.. not to mention the amazing assist for Rio
