Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Great game

Evra's having a bit of a shocker, and we're a bit too open on the break

We need the next goal

I'm not even nervous anymore while trailing, the team makes me so sure we'll turn them over and win it eventually. Unlike a couple of season ago were conceding practically meant losing.

Prepare for more Hargreaves threads...

I've been very critical of Hargreaves this season, but I can't understand why he is getting bashed today. He's played very well, barely put a foot wrong.

To the people bashing him, please answer me this, what has he done wrong ?

Carrick & Hargreaves have both been rubbish and it's the second game in a row where we've bypassed the midfield by hoofing.

Giggs, Rooney and Ronaldo have been sloppy or poor. Dont think Scholes or Anderson would have changed it that much.

well, the service from the middle of the park hasn't been that great either, you gotta give them something to work with.

He tried to play Spurs through on net off the Ref ;p

Carrick and Hargreaves have both been rather good. Fact.

Anyone that says otherwise
a. is a tosspot
b. was not watching this game
c. has made their mind up about Hargreaves and Carrick before the game vens tarted.

d. Owen Hargreaves - the new obsession.

1 -1 is a fair score at HT.

I've been surprised how well we've done so far tbh, given that only one of our first XI back four is playing. You've had the lion's share of the play, and more shots, but we've had arguably the better of the goal scoring chances - good counter-attacking football from Spurs.

The answer is simple - Owen Hargreaves.

Actually, Hargreaves has at times been okay for our attacking play. He's had a few less "Momo" moments with his control (but they've still been there) and he's shown a willingness to get forward now and again. Sadly his cross from the left was a shocker. But compared to previous games, his on the ball play has been a little better. Thank god.

The worrying part is how his mistakes have led to goalscoring oppertunities. Where he rifled the ball into the referee and let Lennon skip past him on the way to goal, was something painful to watch. And then at the end he wandered off from marking Jenas (Spurs constant runner from midfield, who Hargreaves should be looking to cancel out) and that led to another chance.

If he cancels out these mistakes and continues his slightly better on the ball play, he'll be far more useful than he's looked until this game.

As above.

Neither are Rooney and Ronaldo...they are up against Ohara and Huddlestone and havent done much

At least they are trying. For me, Hargreaves shouldnt reduce himself to that limited role but to move forward, look for spaces and actually attack.
