Manchester United vs. Liverpool

No-one's predicting Anderson to start !? I'd definately have him on the first team sheet. Loves the big games and outclassed Gerrard and Fabregas twice.

VDS
Hargreaves (played okay at RB)
Rio
Vida
Evra
Ronaldo
Anderson
Carrick
Giggs
Rooney
Tevez

Subs: Park, PIG, Nani, Brown, Scholes

Caftcards...it's easy to predict their decisions. He had 2 games in which he was decent and they are already pissed off with him.

I just think, that SAF will play Scholes, cause Anderson needs probably a little rest. It doesnt actually mean that I'm fully happy that he perhaps will be benched.

If injured players dont return, I would go with:

Kuszczak

O'Shea Brown Vidic Evra

Ronaldo Scholes Carrick Giggs

Tevez Rooney

Subs
Foster, Pique, Anderson, Hargreaves, Nani

It would be nice if Van Der Sar, Ferdinand and Saha were all fit by Sunday.

If we dont have Rio we obviously need someone to protect the back four.
Hargreaves in place of Scholes and Anderson in for Giggs.

VDS (or whoever''s fit)

Hargreaves
Brown
Vidic
Evra

Ronaldo
Carrick
Scholes
Nani

Tevez
Rooney

1-0 Rooney

I'm pretty sure, as Sam has already metioned, that we will play 4-5-1.
With Rio injured we will most likely play like this:

--------------------------VDS?-------------------

O'Shea---------------Brown----Vida------------Evra

Ronaldo---Carrick--Scholes--Hargreaves---Giggs/Nani

-----------------------Roon-----------------------

subs: Tevez, Anderson, Nani/Giggs, Pique/Simpson, Kuszack

Here's the thing. I reckon it's vital we find a way to play Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez.

Mascherano will be doubling up on Ronaldo from start to finish and could well hussle him out of the game. Which leaves Rooney a bit isolated against two centre-halves. But if we add Tevez to the mix, it's a whole new ballgame.

Rooney finished the game last night wide left and caused them all sorts of problems. Playing on the left side of a front three he would be even more central and more involved in the game.

IMO, if we go 2 in midfield, it's Rooney and Tevez up front. If we go with 3, then the front 3 should be Roo, Ron and Tevez, with Giggs/Nani on the bench.

VDS/Foster

Brown/(OH if Rio unfit) Rio/(brown if rio unfit) Vida Evra

Ronnie Scholes Carrick Giggs

Rooney Tevez

Subs: Saha, PIG, Andy, Nani, O'Shea

So this would be:

---Hargreaves---------Carrick------
---------------Scholes------------

---Ronaldo------Tevez------Rooney---

Well I like the look of it

Something like that, yeah. Not quite sure about the starting positions of Carrick, Scholes and Hargreaves but I think the three of them could be great together.

It irks me that the only time I can remember them all starting a game together was against City at the Eastlands - when we put in the most dominant midfield display I've seen since Keane was in his pomp. I don't think they've started a game together since, how mad is that? :wenger:

I totally agree.

But I think we'll go 4-5-1.

Carrick, Rooney, Ronaldo, Rio and Tevez.
If they start we'll win.

VDS/Foster
O'Shea/Brown (depending whether Rio's fit)
Vidic
Ferdinand/Brown
Evra
Ronaldo
Carrick
Scholes
Nani
Rooney
Tevez

I hope we tear these twats a new arsehole, and let's hope our forwards find their shooting boots come Sunday, I'd love to absolutely twat this lot :D

I posted this in the noobs when we played Liverpool at Anfield this season. So in keeping with tradition, I'll post it here too.

Should fire us up, and the matchgoers even more:

Remember ALL of Anfield singing munich songs
Remember the Kop doing aeroplanes
Remember the Munich 58 banner on the Kop
Remember scousers slashing straight members and scaffers home AND away
Remember Main Road 85 & what was at stake
Remember that we stopped them doing the "Impossible" Treble
Remember ALL those flags mocking Munich at Heysel in '85
Remember 39 dead Italians and how they tried to blame everyone but themselves
Remember the b*****ds throwing CS Gas at our players at Anfield
Remember that utter UTTER c**t Kenney Dalglish
Remember Anfield 1992 & how you felt after Rush scored
Remember 3-3 in 1994 & how it felt like a defeat
Remember the c**t spitting on Eric as he went to lift The FA Cup
Remember Robbie Fowler and his four (now five) finger salute every time he scores against us
Remember that giant FC Bayern München flag at Anfield in 1999
Remember Paul Ince (and all of Anfield) thinking he had denied us the Title
Remember loosing Five on the trot against them 2000-2002
Remember The BBC hailing the plastic treble as some sort of achievement
Remember them breaking the silence in honour of Georgie Best
Remember rick parry bleating on about the NY honours and Paisley & all that other s**te, the f**king w****r!
Remember scousers complaining on 5Live that Sir Matt only got knighted because he survived the disaster
Remember how you felt on 29 May 2005

Remember all the reasons we hate them so much.

Let's thrash those bastards !

-------------------Kuzczak----------------------

--O Shea----Brown--------Vidic------------Evra---

Prediction:2-1 smash-and-grab win with goals from Tevez 13, 69mins.

GK

Brown - Ferdinand (:nervous:) - Vidic - Evra

Hargreaves
Carrick - Scholes

Ronaldo - Rooney - Giggs

Subs: GK, O'Shea, Fletcher, Tevez, Saha/Nani

Feeling good about the match, for once...although, after reading a few pages on RAWK, I'm becoming convinced that we're utter crap, that not a single member of our starting XI would make Liverpool's subs' bench and that we'll lose 7-3. And then Liverpool will win the Premiership. It's on!

I hope Sir Alex will be keeping it simple.

O'Shea------Brown------Vidic------Evra

Ronaldo----Scholes----Carrick-----Giggs

----------Rooney----Tevez

A draw wouldn't surprise me, but I'll go for 1-0 (Scholes).

Rio will play

This should be a thriller match.

Man to watch: C.Ronaldo is the best player in the world now so why not to make the man to watch.:D

Pool class: Torres and Gerrard are their best players at the moment especially Torres; this guy is incredible for me because the little time he took to settle at Liverpool.

Our defense?: If Rio is not fit then we should be ready to concede goals because when he is playing for us we don't concede that many goals.

Midfield dilemma: I know we have many options at midfield but I prefer us playing with Scholes and Carrick.

Good luck lads....................................................;)

Fergie usually goes with experience and favourite sons for this fixture.

That is true, probably a 4-3-3

with Anderson-Scholes-Hargreaves in mid (rather have Carrick over Hargreaves tbf, but what the hell)

and Ronaldo-Rooney-Giggs upfront(although I would rather Carlitos, no matter though he'll probably score the winner as a sub)

VidaRed should create this thread, he makes me feel more confident for this match lol

What's done is done, the fact that United have an incredible squad makes more than confident going into this one

well, I sure hope Pert does better with this thread than the one he made for the City game at OT...

Good luck pertyboy ;)

I think we should all go after Pert. If we lose this one, I will be after you Pert, jk:lol:

I find it funny how the Liverpool faithful are so confident yeah you are on a good run, but not in any way against United. Buck up don't see Liverpool winning on Sunday unless a United player gets sent off in the first, however if it happens in the second half I reckon United will win

My ideal line up would be a 4-4-2 formation. Team would look like (from left to right)
Foster
Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, Brown
Nani Carrick Anderson Ronaldo
Rooney Tevez

Predicted lined up?
Instead of Nani, it will probaly be Giggs and instead of Carrick it will be Hargraves. And if Rio is still injured, I reckon Pique may get the start unless Silvrestre is ready to coem back. Maybe even see Brown move to th emiddle and Hargraves at RB again and thus allowing Carrick to play. And Kuzzy will obviously play over Foster which I dont agree with.

I reckon we should attack. WE always get these 1 goal victories in which we just scrape through. Last game they almost scored and our defence saved us. Game before that, VDS made a key save. Liverpool will start out defensive if we put them on the backfoot early...best time to strike.

Rafa riled by Fergie tactics

Rafa Benitez believes Sir Alex Ferguson has attempted to manipulate referee Steve Bennett ahead of Liverpool's trip to Manchester United on Sunday.

United boss Ferguson has repeatedly called for star player Cristiano Ronaldo to receive more protection from officials in the days leading up to this weekend's match.

The Scot insists he fears the Portugal winger will be driven out of the Barclays Premier League by the type of rough treatment Ferguson claims he witnessed in the recent FA Cup defeat to Portsmouth.

But Liverpool manager Benitez believes his opposite number is simply playing mind games.

Clever

"Ferguson is clever, that is clear," Benitez said. "After a difficult game, he was talking about referees and before an important game (against Liverpool) he is talking about protecting Ronaldo.

"The referees, though, have experience and they will know Ferguson. This kind of treatment must be the same for all the teams and all the players.

"I wasn't surprised last week to hear what he was saying. I just want to go into the game with the same situation as the other team."

Benitez is confident Bennett, who is due to officiate at Old Trafford on Sunday, will not be influenced by Ferguson.

"I think the referee has experience and is strong enough so I don't see it being a problem," said the Spaniard, who believes his own players deserve just as much protection as Ronaldo.

"Ferguson is very clever and has a lot of experience.

"I don't know what he was thinking about exactly, but if you need to protect Ronaldo, you also need to protect (Fernando) Torres and (Steven) Gerrard and all the skilful players in the league."

fecking hell, that's got me going.

This will be a high energy game, Scholsey looked ok against a Bolton team who were backs to the wall but i would go for Hargreaves or Anderson with the Ginger lad coming on later when legs tire. Same for Giggsy.

P.S Had to make Nani's head bigger myself, didnt need to much :D
