Last season Manchester United was a joy to watch. You had Rooney and Tevez dropping deep, Ronaldo breaking in and goals where flowing in bucket loads. The new Manchester United is filled with stars capable to rise to occasion. Unfortunately its built around one player, the best player in the world and the man set to leave rather sooner or later.
Many are underestimating the impact Ronaldo will have if he leaves the club. Think about it, have you ever seen SAF doing so much not to lose a player? I mean the last (and only time) SAF went all out of his way for a player was Eric Cantona. There again Eric wasnt a cnut, Ronaldo is so you can bet your salary that Ronaldo will leave sooner rather then later.
But first thing first. What does Ronaldo provides to us? Ronaldo permits us to play two link men upfront who are hardly renowned for scoring piles of goals themselves because we all know that he can always drift forward and scored the goals himself. Not just that he also allows us to live without tall forwards because he will always be at the right time at the right moment converting crosses into goals. If we are in trouble we look at Ronaldo and he will get us out of the shite in one way or another, similar to what good old Eric used to do.
Now what would Aguero provide to us? The Argentinian is fast and technically gifted. There again, his lack of physical strength would mean that he will have to start the attack from out of the box, dribble past a player and score. With our 42 goal per season winger gone, we simply cannot afford having no one capable of staying in the box and convert chances in the goal. Not just that, if you bring Aguero and Ronaldo leaves then it will be not worth crossing the ball anymore. I mean what you would have in the box (if they are there in time) would be Aguero (5.7ft), Tevez (5.6) and Rooney (5.10ft).
When Cantona left we brought Sheringham who was able to provide a leading figure to a team to a young team still in need of a leader upfront. If Ronaldo leaves then we would have to do the same and Aguero is no answer to that.
