That was my first reaction as well. I'd much rather see Fletcher on the pitch than O'Shea... though I guess he needs some playing time. Delighted to see Rafael being given a game though.

i alwats wanted de silva to start and now that he has, i feel sorry fo brown. itv4 were saying it could be because of what happen against liverpool, (browns poor performance). i doubt thats the reason but it looks like browns our 3rd choice rb at the moment which am a bit shock.

True, but Berbatov needs a goal or two for his confidence and today is a good chance for that. My guess would be that Tevez will come off the bench around the hour mark (barring injuries of course).
Not sure how you've reached that conclusion at all, but Berba needs games with the team and if he can get a goal it will only help. Much like with Neville getting a few games already, it's long term thinking here. The more playing time he gets now, the better he'll be able to contribute later on.
So delighted for Rafael,hope he does not get skinned easily and shows his attacking prowess on the big stage.

Well, to be honest, we don't have that many options. Carrick is injured, Hargreaves is injured, Scholes is a must and Anderson isn't really the best partner for him. So it comes down to a straight choice between Fletcher and O'Shea and Fergie probably feels he needs O'Shea's defensive experience, looking at the way the team is shaping up. I'm sure Hargreaves would have been if fit, but he's not.
