Manchester United vs. Celtic

Surely time for Tevez and Andershow to put in an appearance.

Sounds like Ronaldo may sit this one out.

Perhaps 2-0 to Utd.

Hoping for a result to celebrate my birthday!

Ronaldo---Fletcher---Carrick---Park
------------Rooney---------------
---------Berbatov-----------------

They'll try to kick us off the park, we should kick them back too. Rooney and Berbatov are starting to gel as a partnership, not the best time to break them. Tevez to come on late in the game ala Ole. Vidic deserves a rest and Evra is injured. Carrick should start if he's fit or we should go with Fletcher and Giggs in the middle.

Battle of Britain right on.

I have a feeling the team will look something like this.

----------Vds-----------
Brown-Rio-Vidic--O'shea
Anderson-Fletcher-Park
--Rooney-----Tevez---
-------Berbatov--------

With Park as a central midfielder/winger. This to make us of his exceptional workrate, and also to provide the necessary width.

Park
Fletcher
Anderson
Giggs

Rooney
Tevez

Subs: PIG, Evans, Rafael, Nani, Ronaldo, Berbatov, Manucho.

United 4 - 0 Celtic (Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo, Fletcher)

They were lucky at Old Traff last time, they scored from a shot that VDS should never have let through in a million years, and then Nakamura's beautiful free-kick made the 3-2 scoreline a bit more respectable on their part, our passing, speed and vision are far different to that of Falkirk, Cowdenbeath and Queen of the fecking South...

didnt saha miss a pen too ?

EDit : think that was at parkhead

He scored a pen actually in that match, missed the one in stoppage time away

Subs: PIG, Neville, Evans, Giggs, Park, Ronaldo, Manucho.

3-0, I reckon.

:nervous:

Celtic are fecked with injuries. Our best hope is if you think it'll be a walk in the park, though, and piss about too much like you did up at CP last time, when Ronaldo was showboating in the first half of a game you ended up losing, somehow.

Just getting ready to set off from Scotland for the game. I really hope to feck we destroy them. Given the level of performances they've been putting in plus the injury problems they have tonight I think a United win by 3 or 4 goals is a realistic shout.

It looks like Celtic aren't going to carry much threat up front with all their injuries. Come to OT without a goal threat & you're asking for trouble. I think we'll be far too good for them, easy win by 3 clear goals.

From a Celtic point of view...

Our team tonight will likely be:

GK: Boruc - Top class keeper and one of the best in Europe however his wife recently had a kid and then they split up and he's seemingly lost the plot and got fat and is letting in really soft goals at the moment. Normally able to pull things together for CL matches though.

RB: Loovens - Signed from the mighty Cardiff in the summer and has been totally unconvincing in the few matches he's played. Is a centre half but will be played right back cause our team are full of midgits and Strachan thinks his height will help. Pity him if you play Nani wide left.

CB: Caldwell - Injury doubt. Our best defender but that's not saying much. Very slow but tries like feck.

CB: McManus - Our captain but he's pish. Has no positional sense and is a bombscare.

LB: Naylor - The worst player in our team. Was at Wolves for 9 year and thats his level.

RM: Nakamura - Won't contribute much from open play but a danger from set pieces.

CM: Robson - Hardworking but slow as feck. Good left foot.

CM: Brown - Could run about all day getting stuck in. Doesn't do much besides that.

CM: Hartley - Pretty useless. Will sit and anchor the midfield and do very little.

LM: McGeady - Our best outfield player. Blows hot and cold. Can give anyone a hard time as previous good performances against Barca, Milan etc show but he can also play like a drunk Djemba Djemba at times.

CF: McDonald - A fat Aussie who had a lucky season last year.

Bring it on :D

That's a negative assessment McGeady if ever there was one.

I just hope you'll try and win because if you do we'll hammer you.

If you park the bus I can see you'll getting away with just a 3 - 0 defeat.

Edwin VDS - Old enough to be my dad. Dresses like him to. He's alright as a goalkeeper, floppy hair though. And face resembling a small rodent that probably went extinct a few thousand years ago due to being about as threatening as a cabbage.

Wes - Orange.

Evra - Unanimously agreed upon as to being the best player who ever lived. Ever.

Rio - I think I once saw him in Starsky and Hutch. Pretty useful centreback though, despite the fact he likes to jump on our players when they score. Or maybe he's trying to score by jumping on our players, I have no idea.

Vidic - Noodle thinks he is a pansy, so is probably the hardest man alive.

Ronaldo - Not sure that anyone who owns their own shop that sells manbags can really be any good at football.

Nani - Growing rumour that Lord Lucan has been posing as Michael Jackson for the past 30 years whilst the real Michael Jackson, tired of the popstar life headed off to Cape Verde to try his hand at professional football. Rumour gained momentum when Nani was seen juggling a football backwards against Arsenal last year. Some likened it to Jacksons infamous moonwalk.

Giggs - Can't dribbble anymore, can't run, can't shoot, rubbish at assists. Should have been sold years ago. Thus states the caf.

Fletcher - Has all the composure of Bambi on ice, runs like Bambi on ice as well.

Rooney - His more aerodynamic hair style still can't hide the fact that he is fat and peaked at the age of about 13. Apparently.

Dimitar 'Babyface' Berbatov - Made his name as an extra in the first Godfather movie and is now working for the real thing. Executed Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy and replaced him with a clothes mannequin stolen from Marks and Spencers, on the orders of Godfather Fergie.

Just had a strange dream, woke up to see the match and switched on the telly and it was all Celtic fans with thier white scarfs on our stadium outnumbering us.

Anyway relating to the game i hope Tevez and Rooney finally start together after a very long time.

True, although our penalty was a bit fortunate but then Gravesen was lucky to stay on the pitch for them. Boruc kept them in that game, Saha had several chances and Rooney missed a couple of sitters.

They were then very fortunate at Parkhead, the free should never have been awarded for their goal and Balde should have been sent off.

I've got a feeling that Boruc will play a blinder, if we could get an early goal then it would be great other wise I can't see us scoring till late in the 2nd half.

Wouldn't mind seeing Manucho, hows he looking for the reserves?

Feeling confident

If we score early I fancy a rout...5-0

Otherwise 3-0

I'm hoping Fergie gets them up for this one, victory more or less puts us in the driving seat for qualification early and puts these feckers in their place. Early goal I fancy us to really go at them all night, I just cannot see them being a threat going forward.

Excellent post mate - very funny but honest & i have to agree with ya in every point made

Hope you stay on the Caf & not just post for the upcoming matches :)

For me the season starts tonight. I'm a prawn sandwich supporter me.

Good old 21th October

Anyway, I'm quietly confident about this game. We're in good form, and we've got our first "big win" of the season now. That should give us the confidence to finally start knocking a few goals in.

Celtic will give us a game, no doubt about that what-so-ever. I don't remember the last time we conceded a goal though, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge was it? So with our solid defence on form they should have difficulty scoring.

The more I think about it now though, the more I'd starting to believe we'll play some kind of 433 formation instead of 442, but I'm hoping for 442 with almost the same line-up we've used for recent games (Aalborg and West Brom).

----------------- Van der Sar ----------------
Brown ----- Ferdinand ----- Vidić ----- O'Shea
-------- Fletcher ----------- Giggs -----------
Park -------------- Rooney ------------- Nani
------------------ Berbatov ------------------

That's what I suggested earlier (with Ronaldo over Nani before there was talk of him being rested). I'd love Tévez to play though, so I'm thinking we could end up with something more like this:

----------------- Van der Sar ----------------
Brown ----- Ferdinand ----- Vidić ----- O'Shea
-------- Fletcher ----------- Giggs -----------
------------------ Anderson -----------------
------ Tévez ----- Berbatov ----- Rooney ----

We lose so much width with this formation though, especially with Evra out. So I won't try and guess what Fergie will come up with anymore lol.

Also, McGeady10, genius post

Absolutely loads and loads of the staff at OT are City fans.

Odds are plenty must be I guess. Gives them a chance to see some decent football whilst staying in denial eh :p

He reckons Celtic fans are deliberately allowed into United sections because of "the good history between the two clubs". Obvioulsy if things start going against United it creates a dangerous situation. Good job Celtic are shite really :smirk:

I took my missus two years ago and it got a bit hairy when they scored. Its bad enough in any United section but we had great seats in the Stretty End and its more tribal in there. One drunken Celt was sat there in his hoops, and took it to far. He was evicted and got headbutted on the nose, on the way out, for his troubles.
