Arsenal Vs Manchester United

if you think calling someone a dumbass is abusive you must of lived a very sheltered life. and at least it fits into my point rather than just being an empty remark crowbarred into the middle of a sentence

Yeah, because that's the only way you prove yourself. By playing for Manchester United.

what i meant is hes not played many games for us so its not proven he fits in well. to be honest, i couldn'te care less, there is no way ferdinand should be dropped for evans. if you compare their records then evans is vastly inexperienced in relation to ferdinand and ferdinand is simply the better player.

Was a great game, and exactly what we had to do to today. Both sides were great going forward, both sides should have scored a lot more. I definitely feel we deserved it overall though.

Nasri was my man of the match

Fabregas was woeful at times. Hope his mind isn't elsewhere.

Cracking goal by Rafael, he looked awesome tbf.

to each his own eh?

anyway....perhaps I have been too pissed off with the numerous screw ups he has made recently.....

his loss of pace certainly has not helped him though...

i do get your point, evans is indeed a good player and i would love to see him play, just not ahead of rio. It may of been a knee jerk reaction on my part what with all the nonsense that goes on in here after we don't win by at least 4 goals

...not permanently of course....and this would not have been the game.....but I can tell you if Rio continues in such form Fergie will have no choice...

btw Evans imo is not too far behind Rio...the lad is pure gold...

agreed about the last point, world class defender in the making, just a little inexperienced as of yet

understand mate...the weather here is gloomy and so is my soul...after such a walloping by the Arse...and that is what it was....dont let the score fool you....their football was sublime at times...and we made some dumb errors...both in defence and attack....

btw I am no huge fan of Berbatov.... :(

good point well made and well backed up by solid, indisputable evidence

Yeah, because saying Rio's lost his pace in the space of a few weeks needs a proper argument to back it up.

Drop Ferdinand? Ridiculous.

On his day he's the best defender in the world. You don't just drop him. A defenders form will readily fluctuate from one game to the next, with a lot depending on opposition.

The thing is it didn't at all last season, and for the most part he was ridiculously consistent the year before too.

But yeah, it's a ridiculous idea.

Well, I'm not quite as pissed off as some seem to be. Losing to Liverpool was a disaster. Losing today was just a disappointment. United vs Arsenal just does not generate the same drama for me.

There's just too many "issues" around the team at the moment:
- Gary Neville is nowhere near the levels he was once producing and is a liability. Wes Brown needs to be be back before the Villa game. I can't trust Rafael in the big games when we are under pressure, but Christ, at least he gives us something going forward. Maybe we should make him second choice to Wes from now on.
- Rooney is in one of his slump periods and Fergie should be making use of Tevez until he gets out of it.
- VDS has jumped the shark/nuked the fridge. Get Foster in there.
- As I said after the Hull game we should be giving more games to Evans to keep Rio and Vidic on their toes more.

We're not really looking like potential champions now. Maybe we really have lost that hunger, and we're not getting superstar turns from the likes of Ronaldo and Rooney to mask the weaknesses in the team.

Fletcher is an important player for us now and will be fit for Villa, and Scholes is on the way back. Foster and Evans are future first team fixtures. Rafael is a hugely exciting player. There's alot to look forward to in the coming months. We may not win the league now, but we should be in good shape come the 2nd round of the CL.

Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, D Berbatov and Edwin VD Sar were not suitable for this type of high tempo game and especially against the Arse.
Last season, United fielded "runners" with Anderson and Hargreaves running and harassing their mid-fielders. Together with the aggression of Tevez and Rooney, leaving Ronaldo to create havoc in their defence.
When Arsenal heard about the team, they were quietly confident. SAF again goofed up tactically. Without CQ , who is very tactically inclined, United will make some errors along the season and I think will have problem retaining the title.
I felt that Ben Foster, with his better reflexes, would be able to save the first goal. United should have started with Rafael as Nasri ran rings around Neville. Berbatov with all his skill is not suitable for this type of high tempo game and can be disrupting. Giggs was a surprise substitute. Nani should have come on. Nani is the best crosser of the ball and it was he who created headed goals during the last league game. It should be a direct swap for Park who cannot cope with the skilful Arse players.
Sigh! Maybe, United wanted the Arse to regain their confidence so that they can slow down the march of Chelski and Liverfools.

thats not what you were commenting on, you were commenting on the fact someone said he has lost a little bit of pace, not all of it and not in the last few weeks. he has lost a little bit of speed, hes 30 now and thats to be expected as he grows older, when hes on form, it doesn't matter but when hes off it he cannot rely on pace to help him out ala richards so it has the effect of highlighting his mistakes.

Have to say I haven't seen any evidence of that, like when he was up against Defoe chasing a ball into the channels and still managed to beat him for pace.

Seems a bit odd that he's just lose that pace in the space of a few weeks.

Gutted! We're turning into Arsenal, feckin about around the box instead of shooting. Mind you we should have been 2 up early on, which would have left them wide open for counters.

Don't come bounding in here all happy and talking sense :nono:

Oh, today was a feckin' wank away.

Worst away section at a Utd game since i've been going.

Embarrasing, barely one song got going.

Do you think the early kick off contributed?

How did it compare to other 12.45 sat kos?

Everton was mint, and that was a 12 KO, Liverpool is another big game that was an early KO, and that was'nt bad.

It seems to be a southern away thing, as it attracts more day trippers and execs on a jolly.
Arsenal alaways seems to be the trendy one, and today was pathetic.

Early KO did'nt help either.

thats bollocks, a draw would have been a fair result and you know as well as I do you would have been made up with it

that's a pathetic attempt to wind me up

better luck next time cuntos!

yes it was horrible, and i shouldn't have done it. my bad

but it was 5something AM and i was barely able to see i was soo drunk

Just saw the replay for the first goal again, Berbatovs attemp of a block/closing down was pathetic, turned his back on the ball, made himself small and was no way near quick enough getting to him. We lacked fight and commitment yesterday.
