Manchester United v Sunderland

My Line Up
Foster
Rafael Rio Vidic Evra
Park Anderson Ronaldo
Tevez Berbatov Rooney

Fergie Will Play
VDS
Rafael Rio Vidic Evra
Park Carrick Anderson Ronaldo
Rooney Tevez

He's battled away through iffy form and sporadic appearances [the latter not helping the former], and showed us in 07/08 what faith in him can produce for the team, last night's performance must be seized upon IMO. Tevez starts against Sunderland, preferably with Rooney but if necessary Berbatov.

The spark woudl likely die out again otherwise and that would strike me as a massive opportunity missed and poor management of the situation.

Simply a deserved reward i would say.

The balance.

We played with this against Hull we conceded two goals and were clueless upfront. Won't work.

To be fair, that was with an Anderson-Giggs partnership in centre midfield. Carrick and Fletch should be much more solid, and allow the awesome-foursome to rip Sunderland a new one.

For me then:

----------Van der Sar----------
Rafael -----Rio ------Vidic --- O'Shea/Evans
---------Carrick---Fletcher-------

-Ronaldo--Berbatov--Tevez--Rooney

I love this...most of us want Rafael on RB..and he is only 18...

Brown isn't fit
Neville and O'Shea aren't on the best form
Rafael is playing well and is exciting to watch.

The decisions fairly simple

VDS

Rafael
Vidic
Ferdinand
Evra

Ronaldo
Carrick
Fletcher
Park

Rooney
Tevez

Subs: Kuszczak, Evans, O'Shea, Scholes, Nani, Anderson, Berbatov.

3-0 to us, with all goals in the 2nd half. Ronaldo, Tevez to score, and Berbatov will get one from the bench.

It will be difficult to drop Tevez after tonights game, but with the good display at City last weekend, I want some more continuity in the starting line up. I'd like to see the same XI on Saturday that started last week.

That's the team right there ! Feel sorry for Tevez as I really don't think he'll start, despite last night's incredible performance. Nani won't start because he's fecking rubbish, so I agree with the above line-up

What's Evra ever done to you?

PS: He can play this weekend, not next weekend against Spurs.

Considering we're finiding it difficult to score goals lately, I find it amazing that people have demoted a striker whos just scored 4 in one game...

Reward both Anderson and Tevez for playing a great game last night. Play Evans to prepare him for the Spurs game. Rafael fast becoming an automatic starter at RB.

Its getting tricky to name a bench now!

Personally I'd go with the same team that beat Man City in the last game.

Harsh on Tevez after his one man show yesterday but both Berbatov and Rooney played well at Eastlands and I'd like to see as much continuity as possible as I believe our constant changing team (for many different reasons) as been one of the reasons to our patchy start.

So Tevez on the bench again for me I'm affraid, and Anderson too which is unfortunate as he had his best game for a while against Blackburn.

My feelings exactly.

No point having a squad if players can't fight their way into the line up. You've got to reward players who have standout matches otherwise whats the point having a competitive squad?

Exactly.

I don't know what the problem is here, the idea of promoting form players or established ones who have bided their time exists in every other section of the team, in goal, defence, midfield.

Moreover it's not as if our current forward line is operating at peak efficiency, there should be no untouchables and 31m quid doesn't make it so either.

I believe that after Carlito's amazing showing last night that he definitely deserves a place in the starting line-up. He was given a chance last night and by feck did he grab that chance so I think he should be rewarded with a start on Saturday but I don't know whether SAF will go with that, he might go with Rooney/Berba up front again. The partnership between them is excellent and I love Berba but I think Tevez definitely deserves a shot after last night :D

Subs: PIG, O'Shea, Evans, Scholes, Anderson, Park, Berbatov.

Keane leaving will obviously have a detrimental impact on Sunderland, giving United an even easier victory:devil:

Rooney and Berbatov didn't do anything wrong in the last match they played. In my opinion they did enough to keep the starting berths for the next match, it just so happens it was a Carling Cup match and Berbs and Rooney were never going to start (including others).

So for that reason, they still keep their starting places.

4-3-3

---------------------------VDS---------------------------

---Rafael----------Vidic----------Rio--------------Evra--

-------------Fletcher--Carrick---Anderson-----------------

----Ronaldo-----------Tevez-----------------Rooney-------

Subs: Kuzczak, Neville, Giggsy, Nani, Wellbeck, Evans, Berbs
Berbs is back on the bench because he has not exactly been firing on all cylinders and recently came back from injury;so no point in making him play a flurry of matches. He could probably be eased into the matchin the second half once we are in the lead and the opposition leaves more gaps (while in seach of an equalizer) for him to release his throughballs for Rooneh, Ronaldo, Tevez to latch on to....
Prediction:3-0 goals from Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez

Not only is that untrue but it's irrelevant.

If anything there just needs to be a more even rotation of Berba and Tevez.. Otherwise i can see the latter getting unhappy..

Tevez needs to start for me, 433 looked great last night and was hardly tevez stranded on his own that some predicted.

rafael ferdinand vidic o,shea

carrick scholes anderson

ronaldo rooney tevez

Although Im a fan of Park, I dont really think that a home game against Sunderland is a match where his abilities are best suited. Would rather see Nani or Tevez being brought in really.

Sunderland are hopeless defensively, but playing all our strikers isn't a good idea.

Rafael must play, however.

I like this team , but it should be fletcher instead of scholes , rooney on the bench can be our impact sub. so berba instead of rooney

Is what I'd like to see, can't see SAF making any changes from last week though.

Given the nature of the players. We'd probably end up with :-

----------Van der Sar----------
Rafael -----Rio ------Vidic --- O'Shea
---------Carrick---Fletcher-------
------Tevez----------Rooney----
-Ronaldo ---- Berbatov--- -------

Where Tevez as hardworking as he is will help track back to fight for the ball with Ronaldo still sulking on the ground for a tackle against him.

Rooney will always be hungry for the ball and drift out wide onto the left, pumping those balls into the centre effectively and efficiently.

Still no issue with this line-up, but it might be a bit more work for the midfield and the full backs, but overall should be great to watch.

At least 4 goals should be scored, given the fire power upfront. Average 1 goal for each front man.

The efforts of people on here to accommodate Tevez, Rooney and Berbatov seem to leave our midfield dangerously overlooked. Defensively, from a creative standpoint, a lack of width, it's all on show.

Just make a decision and quit with the fudging of the issue.

It could be as simple as this...if Tevez starts then we adopt the fluid attacking formation and tactics of last year, and Berba's on the bench [he isn't undroppable you know]. Alternatively we go with the 2008/2009 approach and Berbatov has to start, and it is one of Rooney or Tevez.

but overall should be great to watch.

Or utterly frustrating to watch and the team is disjointed and not as effective as it should be.

At least four goals? One each eh?

What the bloody hell is going on here, we're not living in Tron, this isn't being played out on a PC.
