------Scholes-Fletcher---
Ronaldo-------------Rooney
----------Berbatov---------

The team I'd like to see, with the front three interchanging positions. I'm undecided on whether I want Fletcher or Park in the starting line-up, as they both bring very different qualities to our team

Given Chelsea's current slump and Scolari's inability to beat top teams so far I'd say United are favorites for this one, especially since they're playing at home.

The only thing that gives me a bit of hope is the fact that MU hasn't looked great this season yet, either. It's very hard to predict what this match will be like.

We dominate the match and win 2-0, is my guess.

:D

Tough game

Reminds me of Arsernal a few years back when we had a few players returning. We're gonig to be a bit disjointed, it's just a case of whether Chelsea are even more so.

I'll go with a draw.

I think we'll win if we can contain Lampard and if Vidic is on form against Drogba. If Brown isn't back I think we will play Neville at right back with Park on the right wing and Ronaldo and Evra on the other side so there's defensive strength on both sides against their fullbacks.

Patrice Evra.

Hope that awful result tonight gives us a spur in this one.Missed the Chelsea match last year so looking forward to this one, flying over on Saturday

Chelsea aren't playing all that well but are doing pretty good away from Stamford Bridge.

This game could be go two ways, be very open like the Arsenal game at the Emirates which could of ended 7-7. Or it'll be we go at them solidly for the half an hour and then go the last 60 mins trying to catch them on the counter thats how the last couple of Chelsea games seemed to me.

Lets face it.....can't put in a worse performance than at Derby can we?

Yep, the team picks itself for this one. The bench might be difficult, though.

------------------- Van der Sar ---------------
Neville ------ Ferdinand ----- Vidic -------- Evra
-------- Fletcher ------------- Carrick ---------
Ronaldo ---------------------------------- Park
------------------------- Rooney --------------
------------------ Berbatov --------------------

Subs: Kuszczak; Rafael, O'Shea; Scholes, Giggs, Nani; Tévez

I think that's probably what everyone wants to see, I don't really see any reasons why that team won't play (unless we get some injuries in the next few days...).

However, is there any chance at all of getting Tosic on the bench? I know it's a huge game, but in a tight situation the risk could be worth it if we need something different. Nani has played the last two games on the trot, so maybe.

Not sure what to expect, the defeat at Derby probably isn't as deflating as a lot of people are making out, but it's also more deflating than than others think. The manner in which we lost in, with an absolutely awful performance, is more costly than the defeat itself. It will effect the players a bit, but we're Manchester United. We let it effect us in a positive way, and we don't lose two in a row.

I'm expecting either a poor 0-0, or a decent 2-0 for us.

------The Czar-------
Nev-Rio-Vidic-Evra
Fletcher-Carrick-Anderson
Ronaldo-Tevez-Rooney

Matches up with Chelsea the best imo, wish United had Brown to put in at RB, but hopefully Gary steps up.

2-1

Ronaldo
Lampard
Tevez

VDS

Rafael
Rio
Vidic
Evra

Scholes
Carrick
Fletcher

Ronaldo
Rooney
Berbatov

Subs: Kuszczak, Neville, Evans, Anderson, Nani, Park, Tevez.

1-0, we'll scrap it.

----------------VDS
Neville - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Park - Fletcher - Carrick - Ronaldo
-------Rooney - Berba

Subs: Kuszczak, Evans, Rafael, Scholes, Giggs, Nani, Tevez

This will be the game where Berbatov really establishes himself as a TRUE United player. The team will be motivated to do better than against Derby and Berba will be the main man, scoring 2 and setting up another in a 3 - 1 win.

Can't believe there are people advocating going a 4-4-2 against Chelsea, reckon the midfield will be overrun if Fergie goes with it. Also, I think it is fecking stupid we are playing it so much right now, why play the ball wide if no one is gonna be in the box, also why play Ronaldo in anything other than his best position, he has certainly been marginzlized on the wings.

We will beat the renties.Under Scolari i haven't been convinced.

The team mainly picks its self, the one doubt I have in my mind is between Scholes, Anderson and Fletch. All 3 of them haven't really been at the top of their game but I'm more inclined to go with Fletch or Anderson for the reason they're more mobile.

Hedge my bets on Fletch me thinks...

Got to be Fletcher playing in the middle with Carrick. Anderson and Scholes have played themselves out of reckoning with last nights performance. They'll be benched.

Must have Park on the pitch in a game like this.

We played 4-4-2 in the final and didn't get over run at all.

VDS

Neville
Ferdinand - is he fit?
Vidic
Evra

Ronaldo
Carrick
Scholes
Park

Rooney
Berbatov

Berbatov, Ronaldo (2-0)

Yeah, Hargreaves was able to tuck in and Rooney drifted to the flank a lot, so I guess it also resembled a 451.

The team this weekend would look something more like:

--Carrick-Scholes---
Ronaldo-Rooney-Park
-------Berba--------

Which to all intents and purposes is a 442, with some hard working players to help out the midfield.

Meh. Formations.

Spot on as goes the XI however i do wonder if it may turn out to be a variant of 4-4-3 instead of 4-4-2.

I'll be optimisitc, 1-0 or 2-1

If he starts i'd keep an eye out for Park poaching us a goal.

There was plenty of talk before that we had the rest of the Big 4 all at at home in the New Year, well now comes the test and as early as it this game represents so much for our league aspirations.
