Rafael --- Ferdinand - Vidic --- Fábio
------ Fletcher ------ Scholes ------
Ronaldo ----------------------- Park
---------- Tévez - Rooney ---------

Subs: Kuszczak; Neville, Brown; Carrick, Nani; Welbeck, Berbatov.

It's the FA Cup.

For once I hope we rest a few regulars:

van der Sar, Rio, Carrick, Giggs, Ronaldo and Berbatov

and play:

--------Foster
Neville-Brown-Vidic-O'Shea
Park-Fletch-Scholes-Nani
----Welbeck-Tevez

Presuming those players are fit I'd play:

Foster

Rafael - Neville - Brown - Fabio

Park - Possebon - Fletcher - Tosic

Welbeck - Tevez

I'd rather rest Vidic than Rio.

Vidic has been busy keeping clean sheets for a long while now, while Rio has watched from the stands ;)

Also, Fabio in for O'Shea and that team above would be the one I'd like us to field.

I don't want any of them to rest. Vidic will be suspended for match against Inter, Rio haven't played too much lately, so give them time to play. It's FA Cup! I don't know why so many users here want to rest so many players.

Don't want to see Possebon starting ahead of Gibson. We were out-muscled in midfield when we lost the Carling Cup tie there. So the strength of Gibson is going to be needed more than the wishy-washy play we have seen from Possebon in reserve games lately.

Manchester United Squad: Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Brown, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, O’Shea, Ronaldo, Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Carrick, Giggs, Park, Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez.

Starting 11

-----------Kuszczak

Brown Ferdinand Vidic Evra

Ronaldo Fletcher Carrick Park

-------Berbatov Tevez

Subs

Van Der Sar
Neville
O’Shea
Scholes
Giggs
Nani
Rooney

I would leave Van Der Sar out of this one. He should play the next game against Fulham to continue defending his Premier League record. Evra needs a start and so does Brown. Rooney is desperate to play but he should be on the bench as insurance only. The Fulham game at Home a few days later should be his return to the team.

Is Foster injuried again?

I agree about goalkeeper and Evra with Brown. Van der Sar need rest before Premier League matches and Champions League matches, good opportunity for Kuszczak to play again. I would like to see Brown and Evra in both matches against Inter, so they need to play, becasue they were injuried. The same about Evans. Evans for Rio in your line-up and that's fine ;)

Rest Rio and Edwin.

Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra and Jonny Evans are all in contention for Sunday's FA Cup tie at Derby, but Wayne Rooney is a doubt as the Reds attempt to ease him back from a hamstring strain.

Ferdinand missed England's 2-0 defeat against Spain in midweek through illness, and although he sat out training at Carrington on Thursday, he's expected to be ready for Sunday.

Evra, meanwhile, has recovered from the foot injury sustained in the win over Chelsea on 11 January, while Jonny Evans has shaken off an ankle knock picked up in the Carling Cup semi-final victory over the Rams last month.

“There are a couple of days to go before the game yet, but Jonny Evans and Patrice Evra are training and they’re OK," Reds assistant boss Mike Phelan said on Friday.

“Rio came in on Thursday. He felt a bit better even though he didn’t train, but we hope he’ll get some training today (Friday). He should be OK."

Phelan chaired Friday's press conference as Sir Alex Ferguson attended a family funeral. The boss' right-hand man also confirmed that the club's medical staff are continuing to monitor Wayne Rooney's return from a hamstring injury.

The striker hasn't featured since hobbling out of the 1-0 win over Wigan on 14 January, and Phelan insists he would be eased back into action.

“We’re still assessing Wayne," he said. "He’s done a little bit of work but we’re not going to rush him. We have some big games coming up, so we’ll ease him back in, but do it as quickly as we can.

"If he’s available on Sunday, terrific. If not, we’ll look at it for the next game against Fulham. We have numerous players in the squad that we can use if [he isn’t ready for Sunday]. We’ll assess that on Saturday or Sunday.”

The Reds would, of course, like to have Rooney fit for the forthcoming Champions League tie with Internazionale, but Phelan says “nothing will be done to jeopardise” Rooney’s well-being. “We’ll make a decision when he’s fit and on which game he should play in.

“The game against Inter Milan is a big game and it’s always in your mind. But it’s still a way off. We have three games to play between now and then. We’ll pick out teams accordingly for each of those games."

BAM!

I am more apprehensive about this match than the several we have played so far....mainly due to my belief Clough seems to have them playing with a lot of 'belief'!!

We need to play pretty much the best team we can taking into consideration the Fulham fixture.
