Manchester United 3-0 Fulham

I was bored.

I hope Nani gets to start either this or the Blackburn-match. It's been a while since he started a Premiership-match.

Yeah, Nani impressed against Derby, but he lacksa bit of match fitness and Park has played quite a lot.. I'd expect both to play a part in the game really.

Flash fancy bastard ye :D

We're at home and Fulham are awful away from Craven Cottage, so I've little doubts we'll win this.

Van der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Carrick - Scholes - Nani
Berbatov - Tevez

Rooney and Park aside that's pretty much full strength then. Brown needs games, so does Evra and I expect Scholes to be rested against Blackburn for the Inter away leg. Nani will either start this one or on the weekend, Park will get the nod at the San Siro.

3-0.

Ronaldo and scholes need to up their games at the moment to be honest, and they are so important to us.
At the moment nani is coming into some good form, and not just the last game. if he shines again parks place v inter is in danger.

I think is time to give Nani a chance. Imo he is a match winner contrary to Park. Let's see who gets the chance for this one.

Van der Sar need to have a clean sheet in next two league matches and he'll be the best in Europe. Clean sheet against Fulham will give him second place and another one against Blackburn will make Edwin the best. If he doesn't concede in next game he'll be 6th in the world and if he doesn't concede also against Blackburn he'll be 3rd in the world.

I know that most of goalkeepers above van der Sar on this list were playing in shite league, but oficially, he needs 605 minutes to become world's best.

There is some controversy as to whether the current No.1 (Mazarópi) should count, as some of his matches were only played at regional level or something.

There's no doubt he holds the world record. The Brazilian league from that time cannot equal to Premier League in XXI century, however Vasco da Gama 30 years ago was one of the best teams in Brazil (finished fourth in 1978 and third a season later) and Brazil was one of the best national team in football (third place in World Cup 1978 in Argentina).

It's an official record, but the best goalkeeper in quite strong league as Manchester United is at the moment was Abel Resino Gomez with 1275 minutes. If Edwin doesn't concede against Fulham we'll probably name him as holder of the record, but it won't be officialy cosidered by FIFA. Thanks to some shite leagues.

I've just looked at the sky tv listings. It says the game starts at 10pm on Wednesday evening rather than 11 on Sky Sports 1. Oddly the tv listing says its only 90minutes long. So either its only showing highlights or they're cutting it extremely fine... wth is sky doing?

Man Utd Squad
Van der Sar, Foster, Kuszczak, Neville, Rafael, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, O'Shea, Ronaldo, Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Fletcher, Giggs, Park, Berbatov, Rooney, Tevez, Gibson, Welbeck.

Starting 11

---------Van Der Sar

Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra

Ronaldo Carrick Scholes Nani

-------Berbatov Tevez

Subs
Kuszczak
O'Shea
Evans
Fletcher
Giggs
Park
Rooney

If the squad is accurate, whats happened to Wes Brown? Neville will start in his absence then. Evra needs more games while Rafael and Park may be saved for Blackburn on Saturday. Nani is in some good form and it would be wise to keep him in the team for this game. Berbatov and Tevez start up front, while Rooney returns on the bench.

The BBC are cnuts!!

I've gone all day thinking the game is tomorrow then i got home earlier and on their website they said it was today so i've been buzzing for about 4 hours now looking forward to the game and then i have since learned the truth :(

They got me all excited and it's fecking tomorrow

Nice article from Roy Hodgson

Roy Hodgson admits he would like to know the secrets behind Sir Alex Ferguson's unrivalled success at Manchester United.

Fulham boss Hodgson can boast an impressive CV himself, having coached at Serie A giants Inter Milan and led Switzerland to the 1994 World Cup.

However, everything he has achieved in the game pales into insignificance when placed next to the record of his Old Trafford counterpart.

Ferguson has enjoyed a glittering 23-year stint with the Red Devils, collecting countless trophies and personal accolades along the way.

Hodgson, who is set to go head-to-head with the wily Scot on Wednesday, hopes that Ferguson will one day write a book on football management, so that those who follow in his footsteps can benefit from his considerable expertise.

"We're playing a team who are champions of England, champions of Europe and champions of the world in a fantastic stadium," Hodgson said on Fulham's midweek trip to the Theatre of Dreams.

Global institution

"These are the sort of games everyone wants to play. We struggled at the end of last season and worked our socks off to stay in this division and the reason we did that was for games like this.

"Alex's qualities as a coach are well documented but what makes him special as a manager is his record.

"He took on a job 20 years ago which, even then, was considered one of the most difficult jobs in the country. Since then he's built an empire.

"They were a big club when he went there and now they are an institution around the world. He is a person who has been able to evolve with the times, keep abreast of things and he has a very good eye for a player."

He added: "You could write books on how successful he has been; in fact I'm sure there have been books.

"But it would be nice one day to read a book when he tells you how he has managed to achieve this great success, then the rest of us could read it and try to follow it.

I have a terrible feeling that we'll concede against Fulham.

Creatively they're one of the least threatening teams in the league, and their two strikers aren't on particularly good form.

It'd be a bit of a shock if we did I reckon.

Stranger thins have happened before though I suppose.

I have a terrible feeling that we'll concede against Fulham.

feck it man, aslong as we win thats the main thing!

We've the British record so thats an amazing feat & if you think about playing 13 games without conceding a goal in the toughest & most competitive league in the world - its unreal!

So regardless if we concede or not - as long as we win is all that matters

How has Fulhams form been the last couple of matches?
1-1 vs. Swansea (away, FA Cup)
3-1 vs. Pompey (home)
0-1 vs. Sunderland (away)
1-3 vs. West Ham (away)
2-2 vs. Chelsea (home)
0-0 vs. Spurs (away)

Their away record is abysmal, played 12, won 0, lost 6, drew 6. Scored only three goals away from home, but only conceded 10. Scoring early is the key once again.

Fergie said Neville and Brown are not fit for this game.
I hope that one of them will be fit next week when we play Inter. I don't see our defence with Rafael on the right. He's good, but not his time yet.

We used to concede some stupid goals against shite teams and I really won't be surprised if Fulham stop our fantastic record.

I wonder whether we should be playing Rio and Evans or Rio and Brown at the back in preparation for the Inter match.

apropos of RedHand Devil's post, I saw Hodgson on Sky Sports News this morning and he was talking about SAF. He said he still has the drive and enthusiasm he has always had and he hopes he is able to continue as long as he is physically able.. Hodgson said he will be sad when SAF retires. It was a very gracious interview. The man is a class gentleman.

Looks a no brainer looking at bbc

Manchester United continue their quest for unprecedented quintuple honours, by picking up a 10th successive victory in all competitions at the expense of mid table Fulham.

The World Club champions, Carling Cup finalists, FA Cup quarter-finals and defending Champions League and Premier League champions will go five points clear at the top of the table, if they maintain their unbeaten home league record with an 11th straight victory at Old Trafford.

The Cottagers travel in search of their first away victory in this Premier League campaign, having failed to pick up maximum points in 12 attempts away from Craven Cottage.

United 'keeper Edwin Van der Sar, who's set to face his former club, has not conceded a goal in 1,212 Premier League minutes for his club, which is a UK league record. He is still one game and 88 minutes shy of the European league record. This is held by Dany Verlinden, who kept the opposition at bay for 1,390 minutes for Club Bruges in the Belgium league between 3 March and 26 September 1990.

If Van der Sar can hold out for another 10 minutes, that will take his current achievement into the top 10 in world league football. If he manages another clean sheet, he will rise to sixth in the all-time list. The world record stands at 1,816 minutes by Mazaropi for Vasco de Gama from 18 May 1977 to 7 September 1978.

Manchester United are bidding to beat Fulham for an eighth successive time in the Premier League.

This match could be a dress rehearsal for the FA Cup quarter-final. If Fulham beat Swansea in their fifth round replay, they will entertain the Red Devils in the last eight.

Distance between the clubs: 203 miles (327 kilometres)

I had a dream that we conceded four and Nani got a consolation goal. It was Chelsea though.
