Without googling anything...
A few guesses.
Merida - although 'one ofthe most talented players in Europe' doesnt give me hope.
Diarra - doubtful.
Modric - the physical description is accurate.
Guy they signed from Werder Bremen in the summer on a free... Bischoff?
"Wenger has studied his spindly legs and twig-like frame first hand and visualised him being snapped in half by an opponent twice his size in the depths of an English winter. Indeed, aside from the rise in standard - and him, as one of the most talented players in Europe, should be untroubled by that - there really is little in England that he will not have encountered at home. Yet Wenger, arguably the most sophisticated thinker in the Premier League, would not take a chance on him.
Having delivered his verdict, it was pointed out that Cesc Fàbregas, Arsenal's playmaker, is not exactly the first person one would call on to get a book off the top shelf in the library, but Wenger saw it differently. He mimed Fàbregas by sticking out his chest and his chin to indicate a pocket general. In Wenger's opinion, Fàbregas is one of those short, stocky items, a compact unit that cannot be easily knocked over, like those Mexican boxers who operate in the lower weight divisions, whereas he was one of those awkward challengers from Europe that always end up on the canvas. There is not enough meat on him. Wenger has a point. There is only a 3cm height difference between the two (Fàbregas is taller at 177cm or just over 5ft 9in), but there is 4kg in weight (almost 9lb). Using the limits enforced by the World Boxing Association, he would therefore fight at super-lightweight and Fàbregas at super-welterweight, two divisions above, and would be nearing the top end of that; with a little bulking up he could be a middleweight."
Scholesy, which player is Martin Samuel of The Times talking about here?
Hint, he looks a bit like Sally Gunnell.
Modric - the physical description is accurate.
Gonzalo's a good shout, his partner Godin last season was great for them too.
Achille Emana's been great for Betia this season, and was always impressive, if a bit inconsistent, for Toulouse.
Felipe Melo's a real player too, but no-one besides KeyzerSoze seems to know anything about him.
Mentioned him a few times on here. Good player, though Betis play him in attacking midfield... I've never seen him deployed there but I sense he'd be fantastic in a normal central midfield role as he's not the usual style of player you think of when someone says "attacking midfielder". Very strong and combative enough to put his foot in, the only question for me is his positioning. But as I say, I've never seen him before Betis where he plays behind the striker so I've no idea how his positioning would be in a deeper role.
Nah, he's played that way in the majority of matches I'd seen him in for Toulouse and Cameroon as well.
Central mid or behind the striker?
Lucho Gonzalez, Domenico Criscito, Sergio Asenjo and Diego Lopez.
What do you mean by United quality. Squad members or able to try and force their way into the side?
Particularly in regards to the keepers, you see a clear seperation, talent wise, between them and Foster?
Have not seen much of them myself.
Anyone mentioned Espen Hoff?
The Noggie Maradona.
Yeah you did,
not that many posts ago.
Probably more well know than the other players mentioned in here, but I like Jesús Navas at Seville, always manages to put in a decent performance when I watch him.
He's a bit lightweight and has had problems traveling that even Dennis Bergkamp would laugh at. Think he also suffers from panic attacks or something.
Overall though, a good little player. Still fairly young too I think so will no doubt get even better.
Do any of you footballing geeks know anything about Porto I'legro, or something like that? A club from Brazil?
They appear to have some good players...
Porto Alegre?
Is a city in the south of Brazil. Gremio and Internacional are from the city.

Simon Vukcevic.

How about that Serbian (I think?) Striker that's propelled Hoffenheim, to the top (well now they're third) of the Bundesliega with 16 goals in 15 games, so far.
David Villa of Valencia:
One of the highest producers of European football , making every match the previous season. He had missed 4 matches in all this season. As we see in the English top flight clubs injuries are abundant. Good players that aren’t spending half their career on the bench should count for something.
Villa is also a key player in the International level, as well.
Not that Kaka’s opinion counts for shit on this forum, but he claims that Villa is the best in the Spanish national side.
