I remember when we put him and Petrucci in the CL squad, and thinking it was a nice experience for them just to be named. Never thought either of them would see any action. And probably Macheda still won't see any CL action now that Rooney is back.
But it's great that we have him as an option from the bench. He's a type of striker we just don't have in the squad and it would be a real shame if we had not named him in the CL squad.

If Fabio is fit, I would like to see him brought on for Evra if we have a decent lead. Evra seems to play every game and he has looked tired recently.
I think it will be the 433/451 that was suggested earlier in the thread.
As although we'd hope and expect to beat Porto at home, I think it will be based on a solid defensive display to above all not give them the away goal, and if we can score at the other end...briliant. But as we've seen, 0-0 at home in the first leg isn't a terrible result

TBH i doubt we will see him play, after Sundays game SAF said we have to keep his feet firmly on the ground and somehow i think he will do this by not playing him...
tevez will be really tired .. and we have a lot of games coming up .. wont be surprised if he is benched for this

Cannot see Tevez starting this -- he looked shattered Sunday -- Rooney will start this one as will Park and Ronaldo -- Is Scholes back? if so expect to see him

Game yesterday should have given the players a much needed boost. Looking for a nice attacking game from us, get an early goal and keep on building on that. Vida, Scholes and Rooney are all back which is a tremendous relief. Would like to see Macheda feature at some point also.

Tevez needs a rest although it doesnt show. carrick should have a bit more in the tank than fletcher, the rest picks itself really.
If macheda can stretch it a bit up top rooney should win the game on his own.
I highly doubt it that Macheda is going to start a European Champions League quarter final after only ever completing 30 minutes with the first team considering there are other options available.
I know its not likely but tevez surely needs a rest! ronaldo can play upfront fine or a 433 could be the answer although weve barely played it this season which i think isnt good as were not as adaptable to new situations, 433 helped us mix it up last season loads of times but the players arent used to it this season so saf cant trust us to play it in these big games.
Macheda would be a risk but it worked last time and i think rooney would benefit.
I'm fairly sure Giggs won't play tomorrow, my friend who works at the airport told me that Giggs was flying out somewhere today. He could be back in time for the match (if he was going somewhere like London) but he won't be fit after playing 90 minutes yesturday.
Doubt Macheda will start, bnench will be ideal I remember yesterday, i wanted to see him play but when he was coming on i was like not in these circumstances but boy he proved me wrong.
