Gareth Barry - I can't see how this dude is apparently worth as much as he'd cost / why Liverpool were trying so hard to get him for like £18/20mill. I can see that he's a decent player but i just don't get the hype around him.

Good point, Aguero when ive seen him play live in Europe has flattered to decieve. But when I watched youtube clips of him in spain hes brilliant.
Van Der Vaart - Overelaborates with everything but never really does anything useful, except when he shoots.
Arteta - Stands out because he's classy but doesn't seem to do very much.
Given - Makes flashy saves but gets caught in stupid positions and the defence gets blamed for it.
Valencia - Runs around a lot, has a decent shot, doesn't do a whole let else but gets talked about as if he's good enough for us.

Kuyt is not highly rated at all, if anything he is underrated just like Park.

Adebayor - I have no idea why people rate him as highly as they do, granted he scores every so often but only out of 4 or 5 chances a game! For a £30 million out and out striker (one chance one goal) hes really got some explaining to do
Robinho - Nowhere near his price tag which was admittedly inflated by City but even then Cheslea were chasing him, allegedly.
Clichy - Suppose it's only Arsenal fans who rate him as the best left back in the league. Behind Evra and Cole for me.
Sneijder - Reminds me of Stephen Ireland. Come to think of it he basically is Stephen Ireland with a big name, and hair.

I've got to say I disagree entirely with that. With the possible exception of Given.
It's not like any of them are considered world beaters or anything, so just how little do you rate them? Van Der Vaart used to have a bit of a reputation I suppose, but you can't say he didn't have the talent as a youngster at Ajax.
The thing is you're only watching them in a handful of matches and then you say they're rubbish.It's a bit of paradox don't you think ?
I think Valencia, Arteta and Van Der Vaart are all decent, none are good enough to get in our team.
Given's slightly above that.

Score more goals, for one. And just be more effective in general. He doesn't seem to actually anything to help his side win games.
Seeing as Arsenal's game is based entirely around passing, I'd say he does quite a lot.
It's like saying Scholes doesn't do very much.
