FC Porto vs Manchester United

Porto could score one and they could go through.
 
We've been class. Not played this well since before the Inter game.

Berbatov makes a difference, I feel.
 
We need to keep this level of performance up, so far we have played our best football in weeks.
 
Thanks to our players for playng better football. Now we need a finisher in the box, and we are there,
 
Good half from us. Now need a few inspired broken teacups from SAF at half time to inspire us to come out firing 2nd half and get an early 2nd and 3rd so we can rest some players for this weekends FA cup semi final!!!
 
Well in charge in that half.More of the same should see us getting the result.Great to have Rio back to.

2-0 wouldve made it really comfortable ..

Yea we do need one more....we get one more and their away goals are a mute point and puts them in the disadvantage.
 
Hope nerves don't creep up towards the end,we need to add another one as quick as plausible.

Happy with the first half, other than Vida's miss which should have made it 2-0. We've played some lovely pieces of football, plus the lads are fairly getting stuck in. It's some of our best football in weeks I feel. I'm still nervous of Porto getting a goal while it's still 1-0 but if we can keep going the way we are, then I feel we've still a goal or two in us.

Not a bad start and dare i say a good performance, the only downers for me have been Anderson and Giggs - dont get me wrong both have been brilliant but i feel Andersons touch looks a bit off (not much of a supprise because hes been out for so long!) and Giggs because a few of his passes have gone wayward but overall its a good performance and i hope we dont throw it all away! A early second goal would be nice...

PS How on Earth did Vidic miss?! :(
 
Defensively we have been very solid. Carrick has seen a lot of the ball but is being wasteful with his passing. We really need that second goal though.

Thing about Porto is that they are closing down very quickly in the midfield, they will tire themselves out eventually.

Looks like a preseason game to me. Porto had no clue how to go about that first half. Expect a higher tempo...

agree Spoony. he gives us that sense of class and serenity up front. Think having Rio about is also helping us tonight
 
Started and ended the half well - a bit of a dodgy patch in the middle where we dropped way too deep and couldn't clear our lines for a good 5 minutes but overall a good half.

Now if we can just grab a second, and if the ref' can protect Ronnie just a little more...
