The Premier League
Man Utd v Tottenham
KO 17:30 BST
Old Trafford

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Rafael
CB: Vidic
CB: Evans
LB: Evra

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Carrick
CM: Fletcher
LM: Park

CF: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

Subs: Foster, Brown, Scholes, Giggs, Anderson, Nani, Tevez

Quite worried about this one actually, Spurs are in good form and haven't lost against any of the Top 4 in the league so far this season, thankfully I think both Liverpool and Chelsea will also drop points this weekend

Rest Ferdinand, Anderson & Giggs as we'll need them for Wednesday against Arsenal

If we do win expect Berbatov to do the business ;) :smirk:

I'll second that team. Ferguson might have an eye on the semi final midweek though, so I have a feeling Fletcher will be rested.

Tottenham will make this tough.

2 - 1

Rooney, Nani

Bent

Hopefully we won't rest anyone for this game. Win this and the boro game and we can start thinking about resting players.. not a moment sooner. I don't care what happens in the champions league, as long as liverpool don't get their hands on the premier league trophy.

Van Der Shar

Rafael
Vidic

Andershon
Nani

Rooney
Berbatov - hattrick.

No rest for anybody, we took some points back from our rivals and should play every game like a final, there are just 6 games left.

I want the best team available. 8/9 games left with a nearly full squad. They've the whole summer to relax and recuperate. Not the time to hold something back now.

Let's make sure no scousers breathing down our neck now

Reckon we play the same side except Carrick in for Anderson and Rafa playing on the right... Rio might need more rest

i hope wes starts

and evra needs to have a good game .. lennon is quick

spuds have improved a lot ..

Defoe and Hutton are both back from injury now, but are probably not yet ready to play a full 90.

So apart from Dawson - and maybe Jenas - we have a more or less fully fit squad as far as I know. King didn't play last weekend, but has played in every game for Spurs in the last few weeks before that, so I'd expect him to play in this next match.

Predicted line-up:

--------- Gomes -------
Corluka - Woodgate - King - Ekotto
--------- Palacios -----
Lennon -- Jenas -- Modric
----- Keane - Pavyluchenko

Subs: Cudicini, Hutton, Zokora, Huddlestone, Bale, Bentley, Bent

That's pretty much our strongest line-up, which makes a pleasant change compared to our line-up in many recent matches against you lot.

If Jenas is not fit, then I'd expect Huddlestone to replace him. It's also possible that Hutton could start at RB in place of Corluka (the former is better attacking wise, but not as good defensively), but I'd expect he'll be held back to maybe come on if we need more attacking threat in the 2nd half.

-------------------Van Der Sar----------------

--Rafael-------Rio-------Vidic----------Evra--

--Park--------Carrick--Scholes--------Ronaldo-

--------------Berbatov--Rooney----------------

Subs: Foster, Evans, Nani, Tevez, Giggs, Gibson, Macheda
Prediction:2-0 win for us with goals from Berbatov, Park

I think the best thing to do would be to play the most in-form players, get the game won, and make substitutes as early as possible.

VDS

Rafa
Vidic
Evans
Evra

Anderson
Carrick
Fletcher

Ronaldo
Tevez
Rooney

No Giggs: just cos he needs the rest before Arsenal
No Berbatov: just cos...
No Scholes: I think he may play against Arsenal, so no need for him to play against Spurs from the start, but maybe sub?

I'd like to see;

VDS, Rafael, Rio, Vidic, Evra, Anderson, Scholes, Carrick, Ronaldo, Rooney, Berbatov.

Evans for Rio if he's unfit.

Massive game this is for us, win this and we're only 10 points short of our 18th league title with five games to come. We need to boss the midfield, Palacios has been excellent for Spurs so far and we can't afford to let them control the middle of the pitch. My preferred line-up:

Van der Sar
Rafael - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Fletcher - Carrick - Anderson
Ronaldo - Berbatov - Rooney

Pretty sure Park will be involved as well though.

I'm reasonably hopeful that Spurs can get some kind of result from this game - or certainly more hopeful than in the run-up to our recent games at OT. That's partly because we look like being able to field our strongest line-up, and partly because Palacios has made a big difference to our midfield (including giving more scope for players like Jenas to concentrate on his game rather than, as previously, trying to be everywhere at once) ... and also partly because, as you say, we're in good form and have done well against top 4 teams this season.

In fact in all competitions this season against the top 4, if you exclude the penalty shoot-out lottery at Wembley and count that as a draw over 90 mins, our record is: won 3, drawn 5, lost 0.

Should be a good match.

Spurs are looking much stronger now, and I think we're over our blip.

I assume Dawson will still be injured?
Definitely. He's ankle was so swollen up they've had to delay the damage-assessing scan until it goes down - it could be a bad one keeping him out for months.

I expect a lot of surprises in the team. We gave ourself so good brething space last night and with the Semi Final a few days fater this game i expcet a fair amount of Rotation to be going on.

VDS
Rafael Evans Vidic Evra
Park Carrick Scholes Nani
Tevez Berbatov

No Rooney or Ronaldo, sorry but I'd start both of them. A few more wins and we'll be almost there, we must win this one as it's one step closer to that title.

-------------VDS--------------
Rafael----Rio----Vidic------Evra
Park----Carrick--Scholes--Ronnie
-------Rooney---Berbatov------

Subs: Foster, Brown, Evans, Anderson, Fletcher, Nani, Tevez.

If Rio isn't fit, then Evans alongside Vidic and Macheda for the extra spot on the bench.

I would too. But i have a feeling one or both will be rested.

-----------VDS
----Rafael Rio Vida Evra
Ronaldo Carrick Fletcher Park
------Rooney Berbatov

Foster; Brown, Evans; Anderson, Scholes, Nani; Tevez

A tad too early for Brown to start me thinks, heard he was playing a half for the reserves tonight and could play against Spurs but i think Rafael will start. Hopefully Rio is fit, if not then Jonny Evans to step in again. Giggsy rested for the Arsenal game. Anderson's started three games on the trot and looked abit leggy towards the end of last nights game, bench for him.

Got a feeling its going to be a tough match. Nervy win

I'd be tempted to go with the same team as against Portsmouth, just because we looked fluid and comfortable in possession for a change. Anderson, Fletcher, and Giggs all played really well, so why not continue that? Maybe Giggs will need resting, in which case bring in Carrick. And obviously Rafael at right-back. No messing around needed.

Won't be the case though. Fergie will probably bring Berbatov back in.

He will obviously change the team...don't forget that we need the players fresh for the Arsenal match as well.

I'd be happy with a nervy 2-1 win

SAF, don't feck about with rotation even if there is a European semi round the corner!!!

Surely the way he is coming into form means that Anderson starts all our important games of which this is certainly one.Would be surprised if Nani, who has been poor all season and Park who has been poor of late, start.
