Oh it'd be fantastic if it were Evra, but folk are literally praying for Anderson to get off the mark for us. Imagine the scene - the score is locked at 2-2 and both teams seem to be cancelling each other out now. It looks like the match could be heading for extra time, the 4th official holds up 3 minutes. We suddenly burst forward, Ronaldo takes a shot. His shot hits the post and rebounds back out to the feet of.......Anderson, who smashes it into the net in the 91st minute. Cue mayhem on the Caf and the rumbling sound which is every United supporter around the world doing the crazy Samba dance :devil:

We then turn back to the screen to see Anderson celebrating 'butt naked' :lol:
 
Make you favourites due to their makeshift defence. Cannot see you not getting a couple against that and if Rio is properly fit you should be able to hold out

Only place I can see you getting a problem is really in the middle where surprisingly I think you will miss Fletcher's industry and tenacity.

Henry if fit is due a performance in a final so he could be dangerous

Hope its a good game and the best team wins preferably not on penalties

I think we might miss Fletcher too. Have no idea how the match will go - haven't felt this kind of anticipation about a game for years...

Usually the big games are the easiest ones to predict our line-up, but not sure about a couple of positions tonight. Best guess is:

I'd love to see Tevez start though as he's on form and could give them trouble. And it has to be tempting to throw Berbatov in to prove to everyone how good he is, especially if it means Ronaldo running at Sylvinho. And maybe Giggs would provide more energy than Scholes. feck knows really.

I can't see either Tevez or the Berb starting. It'll be Ronnie up front on his own again probably. Park right, Rooney left, usual back 4.

I think the only tough one to call will be the midfield, we'll assume he'll play 3, with Carrick a definite starter, and then it's between Scholes, Giggs and Anderson for the other 2 positions.

Scholes and Giggs together is probably out of the question, so I'd say Anderson will start.

Scholes or Giggsy? Hmm, tough, probably Giggs based on his great season.
 
Now i'm really nervous. I was bottling it up, now; reading a lot of threads popped my cork, now; i'm nervous/anxious/apprehensive/worried.

Anyway, i genuinely feel that Berbatov is going to start - we need to keep the ball as much as possible. Fergie keeps mentioning that Park 'will play' and he keeps using the word 'squad' in his interviews. Instincts tell me that he will come on later in the game - add some energy et cetera.

I'm going with:

------ Berbatov ------

Rooney ------ Ronaldo

- Anderson -- Giggs--

------ Carrick --------

And the back-line picks itself.

We are going to have plenty of time on the ball tonight - i should imagine they will sit back and protect the defence when we have it; and counter when we don't. Plenty of skill, plenty of speed and - as ever - a wealth of 'game-changing' players.

but remember, that they (barca) were brought through by the officials and really bad descisions.. (chelsea games)
we played football!!

we beat the team nobody wanted to draw, Inter.
we beat porto away which has NEVER been done by an english club before in the champions league!
we beat Arsenal who had a form revival, and were playing good football.

hope it reffereed well, thats all I really fear tbh.
 
Really hope we'll win it, it's getting longer and longer to wait kick-off
 
less than 4 hours, wow. it seems like only yesterday that we lifted the cup in Moscow.
 
It would worry me if both Giggs and Anderson are starting tonight,both release the ball within milli seconds of receiving it,we need to keep a good hold of the ball and Scholes and Carrick can do that for long periods.

I disagree, we need to set a fast pace, we can't afford to take things slow and sit about. We need to do our best to contain them and control the midfield, and Giggs and Ando will do that just fine.
