Manchester United vs Valencia CF

FWIW, both Owens chances tonight he has done OK with - what you need to consider is simply that he manages to get into these positions so he can get into the box and get these kind of opportunities, which in itself has been something we have been lacking.

Agreed, and his understanding with Rooney is looking phenomenal already.

He's missed a couple, but glasses half full, I'm glad that Owen is creating space in there for shots on goal. It's got to give him and the team confidence.

precisely. I would rather have Owen breaking through and getting these chances (even if he misses some of them), than the constant working the ball around the box with no end product and nobody bar Ronaldo willing to actually make a run in, take a chance and try to get on the end of something.

Delaet looks like a Luke Chadwick / midget Jaap Stam hybrid - just thought you should know.

Carrick fires wide

Villa just misses the ball from a good cross

De Laet is playing well, and I thought he looked decent against Hull last season. He could definitely be an option at RB as the season progresses, although it's only a friendly, he hasn't looked out of place. Looks like he likes to get forward and run beyond his winger, and is strong in the tackle as well. Impressive showing from him so far

i would love it if one you you guys pm'd me with a link to the game

Indeed. For a deadly marksman like Owen, you figure it's just a matter of time unlike last term when getting someone in the box in that fashion was just lacking.

Great minds and all that...
