Manchester United vs. Birmingham City F.C.

Either Scholes has been a bit rubbish or our movement is crap. Fletch and Scholes spent the half standing in midfield scanning for a pass while the Birmingham players watched instead of closing them down.

Foster looks a bit dodgy on crosses but he did well when tested.

Fabio has struggled a little defensively but it he is only starting playing for the team really and he is only getting used to playing with Valencia. He has done ok.

Evra has been fantastic.

Fletcher has done really well but should have scored. A couple of misplaced passes when trying through ball but he fights and wins the ball back immediately.

Nani has been Nani. Shite crossing all match and then one corker. If he gets consistency, he will be a super player.

Valencia has done ok. Comes inside more than I thought.

Berbatov is fighting for the ball.

Rooney has been good.

Good start. Rooney has been fantastic. Birmingham's defense is shit - we should be able to score one or two more in the second half. Jamie Redknapp's pants keep getting tighter.

There is not much wrong with us at all, we pretty much played a first class Chelsea team not with our first eleven, we were able to dominate them for a while, today, we are playing with only one regular at the back out of 5 players, I doubt Scholes is going to start a lot games this season but he is doing the job he was asked to do, I want to believe that Valencia has been asked to drift into the middle to help with the pace over there a bit.
But this game will be awesome if Anderson could come in for Scholes.
I am content, I have seen that Berba is moving with the ball a bit more now than stopping and slowing us down.

Fabio is great going forward, but a shit defender.

Nani has been rubbish, Valencias been ok.

Fletcher and Evra have been absolute beasts

I thought Nani did better than Valencia, has had some good moves alongside Evra.

I actually think Anderson would be perfect for this game.

Was thinking the same thing, it's too congested in midfield for Scholes to pick out any penetrative passes, although he has got a couple of decent probing ones through, and we're already playing a pretty high paced pressing game so it's Anderson's sort of game.

Don't agree that Scholesy's done badly, he's not done much wrong. His passing's still been very accurate I thought. Just not his game to really influence it. He's doing well enough.

Same for Fletcher, but he tried a couple of over-elaborate passes for no reason.

Good first half, really should have been two up but hey ho. We need to keep the tempo going in the second half and hopefully we'll take some of the chances we're creating. Evra has been class and Fletch has been good, although some of his passing has been off. Fabio has been good going forward but worries me sometimes when a Birmingham player is running towards him as he has a tendancy to jump in instead of standing his ground. Berba and Rooney with some nice link-up play.

Nani off and Giggsy on. Let's go United, another goal or two please

The ref hates Berba. Fabio's the definition of give and go.
