When will be Vidic back? With Rio's injury we need him desperately. I think it's going to be Carrick & Anderson partnership in the middle, Valencia and Park on the wings (Nani to come on the pitch in second half). I would like to see Owen in attack, I think that Rooney may sit on the bench.

Foster

De Laet
O'Shea
Brown
Evra

Valencia
Carrick
Anderson
Giggs

Rooney
Owen

Subs: Kuszczak, Fabio, Scholes, Park, Gibson, Welbeck, Berbatov.

Another tight game. We haven't really clicked yet. I'd say another 1-0, with Owen on the scoresheet.

Carrick
Anderson
Park

Rooney
Owen

SUBS: Kuszcak, Fabio, Neville, Scholes, Fletcher, Giggs, Berbatov.

Personally, I'd like Sir Alex to start with Berba once more but I think it'll be Owen, too.

De Laet----Brown----O'Shea---Evra
Valencia---Carrick--Anderson---Park
----------Rooney----Berbatov------

Subs: PIG, Fabio, Scholes, Giggs, Nani, Fletcher, Owen.

Any news on Nev, Evans or Vida? If Nev is fit, then he'll be on the bench I think but we don't know, I'm not sure if he's fit or not.

If Evans or Vida are fit, then they'll start.

Team should be...

GK: Foster

RB: Fabio
CB: O'Shea
CB: Brown
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Gibson
LM: Park

CF: Rooney
CF: Owen

Subs: PIG, De Leat, Fletcher, Anderson, Giggs, Nani, Berbatov

0-3 nice and easy Rooney and Owen x2

Quite a few with the Carrick-Anderson partnership that has failed us so often.

How have Carrick and Giggs faired as a duo? I wouldn't be surprised to see Fletcher retain his place. Something along the lines of...

Foster
De Laet O'Shea Brown Evra
Valencia Carrick Fletcher Park
Rooney Berbatov

Subs: Kuszczak, Fabio, Anderson, Giggs, Nani, Owen, Macheda.

Feck's sake. Why is it that in the 21st century I am unable to watch a Premier League game on the TV?

I'm sick of having to make do with dodgy streams or the radio. It seems wrong that people in almost every country in the world will be able to watch this game, except for people in the UK.

It's guarenteed to be sell out, what with it being Burnley's first ever PL game against the biggest club in the country, so there is no logic whatsoever behind the game not being broadcast here.

Something to do with match day attendances, the purist view is that football should only be watched from the stands. So by putting every match on tele would make your average fan very happy, but negate one of the benefits of getting in the ground and watching it.

I can assure you it's not the case. I live in the US and get all of about 8-10 league games a year on TV.

I see.

Is that because the other games are on another subscription channel that you don't want to pay for, or is it that only 8-10 games a year are available full stop?

For some reason I'm worried about this game. Massive potential bananaskin. Hope Carrick and Fletcher start.

I'm still worried about our defense. We coped today, but there's a good chance an eager Burnley side will find the net against a defense missing VDS, Vidic, Rio and Evans on a Wednesday night home game. If we have one of those games where we struggle to find the net, then we could be in trouble.

I agree with the principle of it, but I think each game should be looked at separately. For example, if Burnley knew well in advance that they would sell out all the tickets (which I'm sure is the case), then they could request the game be allowed to be broadcast.

Has there been any update on Vidic recently? It's a blow that he hasn't played pre-season and I can't see him playing for the reserves (first game in a week's time) so he'll have to go straight into the team. Hopefully he'll be match fit for Arsenal.

Vidic is always fit, he just had some trouble with his software and needed to be rebooted. They also added an anti Torres program to him now he should be better.

I think the English culture is far beyond having to worry about TV games affecting ratings. In Australia it has far more of an impact. I know i would make extra effort to get to more games if every game wasn't televised for me.

my team would be (fitness permitting)

Foster
De Laet O'Shea Brown Evra
Valencia Carrick Fletcher Nani
Rooney Berbatov

Subs: Kuszczak, Fabio, Anderson, Giggs, Park, Owen, Macheda.

i think nani and berbatov need games for form and to build confidence - i think anderson should definately get some game time - his pace and energy are great late on in games - you'd be tempted to give owen a start, all he needs is that first goal but wayne is in such good form and we need to keep him in there

its hard to argue with the opinion that we have the best defence in europe - take out rio, vidic and evans and our defence still looks very strong

For me, Carrick with Anderson in the middle.

Anderson hasn't played even a minute this season yet.

-------------Foster-----------
-Fabio-O'Shea-Brown-Evra
-Valencia-Anderson-Fletcher-Nani
--------Rooney--Berbatov----

2-0, Nani and ANDERSON :O

I don't think Nani will play, i think we'll rest his shoulder. Tosic or Park will start in my opinion.
Valencia and Park, Nani will come on the pitch in second half.

On Saturday it's Nani and Park to start and Valencia on the bench.

I think.

Lot of people have wrote that De Laet might start, has there been any new news on him
