When they showed it again, from the start, instead of just when the cross came in, you can see why they gave it. He had his shirt pulled full length and out in the open as it wasnt too crowded. As the kick comes in its not as easy to see. But you can be sure the linesman saw the pulling from the start and therefore kept his eye on Vidic. Its a fair award really. He was never going to head the ball but at the same time, its a foul. He shouldnt have needed to get the ball.
 
SAF NEEDS to make changes at halftime, not wait until the 70th minute as is preferred these days.

Waiting too long for substitutions has cost us in a few recent games.

Berba must come on, and perhaps Nani to really stretch them.

Either way, MUST make changes.

If they gave that every game I would agree.

But because of a feud with the referees union why is it only United that get picked out for what happens EVERY corner in EVERY game.

Nobody can tell me that United are not getting the shitty end of the stick after this game. It's been happening too many games now to look like conincidences. I'm usually the first to laugh at conspiracy theories, but Allan Leighton of the referees Union has made it obvious that his union want more punishment for Fergie.

We would see plenty of penalties until the players wised up and stopped doing it. Players get away with whatever they can, and the vast majority of times players get away with shirt-pulling.
 
Shocking ref alright, but we have been pretty poor as well.

Valencia has been the only bright spot. Defense has been shocking.

We need to bring on another striker.
 
Vidic is having problems with players with pace at the moment.

Dindane has him when he runs at him. He has to sort his act out and get back in the game.

Same with Carrick, he's getting caught in possesion far to easily once again.

Giggs and Valencia are too wide to support Rooney, he needs Berbatov.

So take off Carrick and bring on the Berbs.
 
We've offered nothing in that first half by all accounts. Apparently they've made all the running/ I can't say I'm surprised with this crock-o-shit system - Giggs and Valencia are not suited to being part of that front 3 in the 4-3-3 system.

If Berbatov is fit enough for the bench, then he is fit enough to fecking play. It's clear that we're struggling creatively this season, so his omission is just bemusing.

It would be a right feck up if Chelsea come out of this weekend with the gap even more than 5 points.
 
Shut up about the referee, we've been awful. Really really bad. We're clearly the second best team on the pitch and we're playing the bottom placed team of the Premiership. Bottom.
 
This has been very difficult to watch. Rooney seems to be 2-3 yards off the pace, we are not keeping possession of the ball and most worringly Vidic seems disinterested. I am beginning to think that the speculation about him wanting away is true. Not a patch on the player we saw a year ago. I would bring on Berba and give him 20 mins with Rooney and if Rooney doesn't improve give it a go with Beba and Owen up front. Are we suffering because Rooney knows that SAF's options are very limited.

Well we have already seen inconsistency in this game. There was a clear handball from a Valencia cross but no penalty.
 
I`ll be happy if we end this with 11 players, Vidic is on thin ice.

No. Take off fecking Giggs before Carrick. Atleast the latter is in form in any way shape or form.

Well he's not going to mirically gain a couple of yards, so I'd say that was more of a permanent problem. He's been poor all season by the previous standards he's set.

It's clear just by looking at the line-up that we're lacking a creative player. He's sat on the fecking bench.

Giggs' form has dropped off lately, agreed.

Additionally, he doesn't suit that advanced left side position in this formation. Neither is Valencia particularly suited.

What we need to do is sacrifice some more positions in the team in order to accomodate more central midfielders. Who needs a goalkeeper when you could play Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes AND Anderson all in the same position at the same time?

He hasnt been much of a creative player this season. That said, he's our second top goalscorer and anytime you have 2 up front instead of 1 you're likely to find yourself having better attacking movements.
 
We need to use the width more. I hate seeing us using the centre so much especially when its crammed. Evra and Valencias pace should be used more often.
 
People want United to play 433 in big games because United have more numbers in midfield and can "dominate" it or whatever but we have 3 in midfield right now and Portsmouth are playing better. Explain that.

Regardless of whether it was a penalty or not. It's time to move on, sort it out at half time and get out there for the second half and take control of this game.

With Chelsea playing Arsenal tomorrow, it's essential that we don't pass up on this opportunity where there is a better chance that they will drop points.

Can someone tell me why he's on the bench?

Why are we playing with three central midfielders against the side bottom of the table.

It's selections like these that feck up Berba's form. He never gets a decent run in the side.
