Fulham Vs Manchester United

It's an 11 man game. A shaky defence will spread uncertainty throughout the team, and we don't have the greatest midfield as it is. The strikers may well be having an off day but again, how can you judge them when they aren't getting any service?

Livvie, theres no point arguing with these bunch of muppets. Apparently we have to have 20 defenders in our squad, just incase 16 of them get injured!

It's not like Fulham finished 7th last season, beat us at Craven Cottage last year (with a near full strength team). Fair play to Fulham, they've been clinical when they've needed to be and put us under huge amounts of pressure.

When the defence is broken then the attack suffers because the midfielders are more mindful of protecting the defence. This leaves the strikers isolated.

i agree on that, but...the lack of defence doesn't affect first touch, crossing, finishing, link up play, final ball...all of which have been truly abysmal

what a cock up by fergie, our best midfielder plays rightback, fabio should have started our most effective winger after giggs is does not even come off bench for last 2 matches, gibson, owen, and valencia were shite last match no change agaisnt fulham :(

we'll be better for this......a real kick up the backside. But respect to Fulham, they are so hard to beat at home...

Why couldn't the kick up the arse have been the Villa game?

It's not all down to the players today. The team selection was a joke. The whole thing is an embarrasment. I don't doubt our ability to go on a run - but you have to look at bald facts. We lost against Chelsea and were 5 points behind. They have had a winless streak where they've been conceding bag loads and yet we've contrived to actually end up further behind than we were when we lost at the Bridge.

I'd say we've fecked it up. And before anyone goes ape shit. It's not so much losing the match/title that annoys me. It's the non-performance. I went midweek and truth be told we were shit. We were shit against Villa as well.

If you truly believe that you really haven't got a clue about football TBH. Its a team sport and midfielders are greatly effected by the play behind them. Without a solid back four they start second guessing themselves, getting out of position, and taking that split second too long on the ball (the first goal ;)).

We have played shit, its hardly a shock TBH. With our second string defenders playing I doubt Fulham would have scored any of those goals.

A professional footballer should be able to do simple things, such as...pass (to one of our own players), no matter who he's playing with.

Did you come up with that yourself, or copy what I said? :p

Why don't you manage us then, you stupid clueless fecking glory support cnut.

Oh get a brain you fecking Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime, any cnut with half a brain can see our defense has been woeful today. Our only established back is playing on the wing, our midfielder who's had arguably his worst game in a good 15 odd years, and we selected to play 352 against a side thats going to attack at home. Idiocy is playing a formation of 352 with two central midfielders as part of that back 3 with an established Left back playing as a midfielder. Idiocy is leaving Scholes on the fecking pitch when we'd be better with him off.

I'm sick of this impression that Ferguson never makes a mistake. He fecked up in the CL final and fecked up today. It happens.

If we play Fabio at right back today, stick Fletcher in midfield with Anderson/Scholes, play Obertan left wing and play Berba up front instead of Owen we'd have produced far better today, irrespective of the backline.

feck up of epic proportions in team selection.

this.

Could Fergie have picked a better, more balanced, more dangerous side today with the personnel in the travelling squad? Say:

PIG
Fabio-Carrick-De Laet-Evra
Valencia-Fletcher-Scholes/Anderson-Obertan
Berbatov-Rooney

?

Gibson and Anderson were the players who were asked to supply Rooney and Owen.

Both failed miserably. This is why we need a new player.

Absolutely.

Gibson is not fit to be a central mid fielder. He doesn't have the passing.Apart from the shooting he is as good as O'Shea in mid field.Does nothing at all.

feck off worst display ever, fulham still wanting a 4th, this is disgraceful/////

I cannot believe we played Rooney AND Owen upfront. Given Fulham's forward strength, our lack of defenders, and the poor form of our forwards, wouldn't it have been sensible to go 5 in midfield? I'm resigned to losing goals at the moment because of the lack of defenders, but we do nothing to try and protect the makeshift defence.

It's very poor strategy from Sir Alex.

Oh, btw the Tevez lot can feck off. We're missing one player - Ronaldo. Tevez, the ugly rat fecker, is an irrelevance.

Well said mate - people forget how crap Tevez was last season now that we've had a couple of poor results with no defense. Where would this lot have played that ugly cnut - in central defense?

Some people are so narrow fecking minded. SAF is as much to blame as the players. His team selection was all wrong today.

absolutely shocked at this performance.

Positive: Only way is up from here....or is it?

Guys we are depleted. I don't think I've seen so many injuries for some time. No team can truly keep winning in this situation. I think the winner of this league will lose more games than ever before....so actually there is still a lot of hope. Ferguson said we just have to get through this period....quite a few players are coming back soon..

 I didn't see your post, great minds and all that.

For all of you bashing Fergie for not playing the likes of Berba and Fabio in the starting line up:

YOU DO KNOW NEITHER PLAYER IS FULLY FIT DON'T YOU.

Good. It mirrors the team's performance.

I'm not on about you actually, the majority of what you've said is fair. Some people though, as soon as the team has a bad day they just go mental.
