Manchester City v Manchester United

If we had played the whole match like we did in the last 20 mins Mike Dean would have been irrelevant. Tevez deserves all he gets from us next week and it is time our players quit being so pally with the prat

Liverpool, Leeds and now City, feckin pissed.

Fancy we'll do the cnuts next Wednesday though.

Yup time to go that way, especially in the league cup. We need that plan B proper, and we need our players used to it. We've got 2 types of strikers now that can play off Rooney and Berbatov. Each with their own Unique skill set. What I'm basically saying is, It's time to start Diouf!

The One almost scored, he should start against Hull, it's a perfect game for him

Did anyone on the BBC watch the game? Talking some pure shite.

Yup i couldnt stand it, throughout the game i though we were by far the better team and their goals coming very much against the run of play (well maybe not their second) and Lawro was talking about how City are unlucky to be 2-1 up

Don't think we've seen a Rooney like that in a while. He was a man possessed those last 20 minutes or so.

Shows what having a out and out striker to play alongside with can do against lesser opposition. He gets the freedom he needs.

Great pride with us at half time in this leg. I`ve got no problems with us losing to our biggest rivals like that. A performance like that has been a long time coming!

I say yeah. Also I don't mind us going for a more narrow faorward line 4-3-3 with rooney being allowed to roam as long as he has another striker there with him.

lack of balls in that game - we need more fighters

if keano or even ince had been playing there.....our midfield was pretty non existant

Total bullshit, we dominated the midfield for the majority of the game.

This is the most intense I've seen the lads in ages, pushing forward and forward putting the most amount of pressure on the goal. First half we were great, we deserved the lead. City came more into it and got a penalty which never was a penalty. The second half, we took a while to get going. City's second goal was never a corner. After they got their goal, I thought we started to pick up again and slowly but surely, we got ourselves back into it again. We got forward more and created some chances, Rooney was awesome, it was pure genius at times.

The pressure we put them under in the last 10-15 mins was unreal, that was Manchester United, we were back. I honestly, really thought we'd get an equaliser in the end. Unlucky for Diouf with his first touch, the header just going wide. If we can play like that next week, then I'm very confident.

I think the 4-4-2 system suits better, more concentrated supply from midfield

With Owen coming on the one player I wish they didn't swap him for was Anderson. Anderson and Owen linked up so many times in the past, Owens the only one who seems to get Andersons so called Hollywood balls. We've seen it a fair few times. Owen needs Anderson and Giggs in the team. 4-4-2 also allows Rooney to drift of his man and create his own space, as he is so good at doing and playing the way we know he can.

Just caught Tevez leaving the stadium

All depends if we go for it in the first period playing 4-4-2, then changing into a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1, vice versa won't help us in the next leg.

Anderson does like to play the quick ball through, if you noticed The One's goal against Burnley, looks like he plays for that type of service. Too early to tell anyway, need to see 90 minutes.

I never thought I'd say it but Tevez has gone right into the 'Can't stand the f****r' category for me...all that post goal celebration got under my skin. I thought he had more class than that.

decent enough first half when city weren't really going for it - second half was shite though until last 15 minutes

No city just resorted to long balls out to the flanks, specifically to their left side, Midfield were chasing back half the time because we were dominating the posession and getting hit on the counter. After the Judas's second our midfield were pretty much hovering around their penalty area, or mopping up.

Don't care we've got a better 32 now.

There was a point when Carrick had the ball and Owen had started a run off the defender and ran into vast amount of space that Carrick didn't even need to play the early ball to him. Instead though he seemed to stare at Owen for a while let him run into space, stop, stare some more, then turn to the left to pass to Rooney who had 2 defenders on him. Owen needs those earlier balls.

What a brilliant performance from Mike Deane. Why was nothing made of Teve$' tackle on Brown, I've seen players sent off for less. Imagine if those decisions were made in favour of us, the press would go into moral outrage. We played them off the pitch for the most part, apart from a 20 minute spell at the start of the second half, if we had an impartial ref tonight that would have been a draw. If that's the only way they can beat us then there's not much to worry about in terms of a shift in balance of power. Tevez proved that Fergie was right to get rid of him tonight, someone with that complete lack of class doesn't deserve to wear the red shirt.

Did Carrick even play tonight? thought he was average yet again.

Same here.started the first 15 minutes well, then just became another person on the pitch, didn't even notice him there until he didn't play Owen, when Owen had left the whole of the city defence behind and was stood for 5 minutes with his arms in the air, with so much space he may as well have been in Antartica.
