Aston Villa Vs. Manchester United

VDS

Rafael
Brown
Evans
Evra

Fletcher
Carrick
Scholes

Nani
Park
Rooney

Subs: PIG, Fabio, Neville, Anderson, Valencia, Giggs, Berbatov.

This team did so well against Arsenal, im sure they can do the job at Villa park. If Vidic is fit to play, then shift Brown to RB.

Maybe a 3-1 scoreline, with Rooneyx2, Fletcher with the goals.

If we go 4-5-1/4-3-3 that has to be the side i think.

im confident of a win tomorrow, im off to this game and ive seen about 10 united v villa games and weve won the last 9..

same team that played against arsenal will do for me.

--------------------------Van Der Saar----------------------

---Rafael---------Brown-----------Evans-------------Evra---

------------------------Fletcher---------------------------

-----------------Scholes-----------Carrick-----------------

---Nani------------------Rooney--------------------Giggs----

Subs:Kuzczak, Vidic, DeLaet, Gibson, Park, Berbatov, Owen
Shape: Keep the back 5 (only change Rafael for Neville to cope with Villa's pace on the flanks with Ashley Young and Gabby Aghlabonhor, James Milner). Midfield of 5 to fight for possession. I predict it will be a feity cup game with lots of meaty challenges and fast attacking football.
Martin O Neill's teams usually set out to attack. Hopefully this will leave spaces at the back for Rooney and Nani to exploit.
Prediction:0-2 away victory for us. Rooney, Scholes

Id go with that, but im sure carrick or scholes would be the deepest lying CM instead of fletch. Think Giggsy is due a game, either that or park as i would like to see nani back on the right as valencia has been a wee bit average the past few games.

Any word on Vidic for this yet? Wouldn't like going to the San Siro with Brown and Evans at CB if we can help it, although we've seen before what playing defenders who aren't 100% away to Milan can do :nervous:

Not quite the same Milan as past years but it's a good point.

Am hoping Vida plays tomorrow - because if he does, I' want Brown to start on the right and give some experience against the interchanging Young / Downing.

Pics of squad training before Villa game. Vida and Ando are there but, may not mean much as both were in the pics last week.

If Vida is going to play against Milan, he needs at least one game under his belt before then.

We kick off 15 min before Chelski - need to put a win on the board and perhaps put some pressure on them. Remember us at Goodison 2-0 down and them playing Bolton at home - our come back had an effect or so it seemed.

Looks like Vidic has a decent chance of at least making the bench for this game. He's not wearing one of those blue things in training that they've all been wearing when their availability is still in question. We could need him too; Rafael is wearing one so I guess that makes him doubtful. If he doesn't make it I'd prefer to see Brown at right back than Neville up against Young.

We're on top form and they are struggling a bit. Complete role reversal of the home game. 2-0 to United

Hopefully there's a good stream for it.

Brilliant, Top!

On a more serious note, Villa have only conceded 7 goals in 12 matches at home - winning 6, drawing 4 and only losing 2 matches.

The first one was to Wigan at the first weekend of the season (0-2) and the second was to Liverpool on the 29th December (0-1).

Last defeat at Villa Park was 1995 - 0-1 in the first round of the season. Since then - in 13 matches - we have won 9 and drawn 4 with a total of 19 goals scored and only 3 conceded.
