Manchester United vs. Bayern Munich

My God I was so deliriously happy and now I'm shitting it again. Our third goal actually counts for nothing at the moment - either way Bayern would be going through if they got a second - other than being one goal closer to four.

I just hope we don't just sit back and try and absorb the pressure in the second half, because then I can see another game like the first leg with Bayern really starting to crank up the pressure.
 
Can't complain about the first half, but their goal was too soft to be true. Add to that, it was scored from no angle at all.

Rafael has been excellent. Still inexperienced and it showed with the yellow and the decision to go it alone, but the boy has been very solid and allowed Valencia to keep up field instead of covering him at the back all the time.
 
Absolutely flew out the blocks, didn't I say Gibbo would score a screamer? Bayern only started playing at 40 mins. They've got a goal which gives them a path back into the tie. We must score another 1 or 2 goals for this to be absolutely safe (and for my nerves to settle).

Start the 2nd half the same way please, and it's over with.
 
Since the knock Rooney's made Berbatov look mobile, get him off, this game's tense enough as it is without worrying about him being ruined for the rest of the season.
 
Got to get back in control in the second half - start as we mean to go on, and hopefully score early

If they get one we'll start to panic and they could easily shut us out and kill us on the counter

Berba for Rooney please. No sense in hobbling around for another 45.

Rafas been brilliant. Valencia, Nani, and Gibson too.

Id agree except for his yellow card petulance and feck up when he chose to shoot instead of sliding in Rooney for an almost certain goal. Very bad decision. But has been full of enterprise and running.
 
feck me this is nerve wrecking.

We did great to go 3 up. But Bayern were sloppy and shite for the most part. I felt we could've still kept it better and moved it quicker... can't complain with the 3 goals though.

They could've had a couple more as well... we need to tighten it at the back.

feck me the second half is going to be agony.

feck the ref, main thing the lads played like a proper United team. Theyt were nowhere near this standard against Chelsea or the Bavarian Munichs the last time around. I'm brimming with confidence.

WTF are you talking about...third goal means everything...they still have to score with us pressing to get a fourth.

Absolutely brilliant first half by pretty much all our players.

Valencia and Rafael in particular. Rafael has just been unbelievable, but I fear he'll get a second yellow in the second half.
 
Thing is, now all those lucky feckers need is a single flukey goal, that I think they will get if we don't come up with another couple.

We probably will, playing like that.

younger legs. And Rooney has given everyone a lift despite not being in the game. Funny how things work.
 
Do you know when Berbatov's supporters talk about the midfield needing to perform? Tonight's performance is the perfect case in point. A completely different animal compared to the Chelsea game.

A sloppy goal to concede before half time, but that's typical United. They're dangerous, but we've contained them well and limited them to two opportunities. There's more goals in it for us.
 
We really need another goal, because Bayern certainly have it in them to win the tie in the last few minutes, just witness the Fiorentina game or even the first leg for proof of that.

They started playing only since 40 minutes and they already scored. So think about what they can do if they play from the beginning.
 
i am nervous more now then i was at the beginning of the game. With rafael on a yellow and ribbery still going at him it only takes one mistimed tackle and were down to 10 men.

bayern is bayern though totally outplayed and still in this tie.

I've never seen Valencia show as much emotion as after Nani's first. Fantastic stuff.
