I hadn't seen that angle. There's a thing in Nev's pants that could be completely innocent and could be extremely oh hell I don't know where I'm going with this.

van der Sar

Rafael
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Fletcher
Scholes
Nani

Berbatov
Rooney

Subs: Kuszczak, Neville, O'Shea, Giggs, Carrick, Gibson, Macheda

Rafael v Bale... thats what I'd like to see, mouthwatering

Neville should be no where near the first team for this one. Bale will eat him alive. Neville struggles against any sort of pace. Bale will eat him alive.

This game is made for Rafael.

So we need to win the game obviously, but also it would be good if Berbatov got a sudden bout of amnesia, and went back on the Tottenham bus after the game

That would be the likely side I imagine, although today we kept with 4-3-3 even though City were playing 4-4-2, so Fergie may stick with what worked today.

Easy win.

3-0 Scholes hatrick.

Just like with Bellamy eh?

He did well today against Bellamy and City.

Tough game, but we're at home. Maybe we'll go 442 and Carrick will be on the bench.

Prediction:4-1 (Rooney 3, Valencia)

2-0

tough game, spurs playing well

berbatov may start in a 4-4-2 alongisde rooney?

if United plays the way they did today (that's with pressure on both sides of the ball) they'll beat spurs. United had many more chances to score than massive did but they were just off a bit. finish better, and play the same style, and the game will be Uniteds.

Rooney will be more fit too, and will net his 35th I reckon

Hargreaves to start on the bench imo. He's been in the squad for the last two games but not made the bench. OT would be a good place to reintroduce him.

Just like with Bellamy eh?

He did well today against Bellamy and City.

True but Bale is in devastating form and we saw today how he used his pace to get past Ferreira and Terry and a lot of Chelsea players and also against Arsenal.

Neville was struggling to keep up today when balls when over his head. Neville was great today no doubt but against Bale I doubt he'l be able to keep up.

The key thing is no European hangover. I'm very confident. You could see yesterday how we were quicker to every ball, controlled the game with ease, and didn't look all that tired. A stark contrast to some of our recent limp performances which have always come after draining midweek fixtures.

This, we'll be ready for Spurs.

To be fair with Bale in that form no one can stop him in a footrace. I'd be as worried if Rafael was up against him. Key is we don't leave ourselves exposed to that ball over the top too often and Valencia helps Neville out more than Joe Cole did for Chelsea.

I think (injuries permitting of course) 4-4-2 is a cert for this one, Spurs will play a 4-4-2 themselves and come at us so there wont be any outnumbering in midfield to worry about and the fact were at home and its a must win game will probably see Rooney and Berbatov paired again, i certainly hope so, the last time they played together was Fulham at home and they were excellent....Think this potentially could be a very high scoring game, i expect it to be very open, spurs will have a go at us and we will ablige.

The only selection question marks for me are whether Rio will be back for this one and who starts at right back, thinking about it im pretty sure fergie will stick with Neville and you cant argue with that really, hes spoken alot lately about a settled and experianced backline at this stage of the season so i dont see him changing it around now.....plus i think were protecting Rafael after the Munich game.

....................Van der Sar

..Neville - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra

Valencia - Fletcher - Scholes - Nani

...............Rooney -. Berbatov

...............Defoe - Pavlyuchenko

...Bale ..- Modric -.. Palacios -. Bentley

A.Akotto ..- King ..- Dawson.. - Corluka

.......................Gomes

3-1 United win im plumping for.

Evans will do a great job if Rio's unfit.

Nevile or Rafael will be interesting. Hope Nani starts too. Cant bear another 90 minutes of pointless Giggs flicks.

O'Shea, Rafael and Neville have all coped with Bale all rather easily though in the past.

O'Shea will basically get in the way, frustrate the lad and cut out the long balls towards him, he's probably the best man-marker of the three.

Rafael will expose the defensive frailties of Bale on the backfoot, and aggressively attack the ball before that.

Neville is a highly disciplined defender, he's got great positional sense to force Bale to run into bad areas ... such as Rio or Vidic.

Bale won't have it so good against United.

About Neville. I'm with you on this one. He was disciplined against city and Bellamy
